After watching your videos, I have decided to pick up painting again and I have gone for the devilbiss gti pro lite with the 1.3/1.4 te20 setup. I'm going to give it a go in a few days. I'm a bit nervous as it's been a while but really excited.
Cheers for another informative video, just bought one with the 1.8 set up from sprayguns direct, was looking at the 1.6 but bought the 1.8 after seeing your video to go with my devilbis prolight and 2 x prolight minis that i also purchased after seeing your reviews
I bought my guns on Gunny's recommends, never looked back. I ended up buying the PRI-PRO, the GTI-PRO for base and the GTI-PROlite for clear. Absolutely solid advice, honest reviews, (see the Binks gun review for integrity) and a natural teacher. Good on 'ya Gunny and Merry Christmas. PS on the subject of Christmas I've asked the Missus for and SRI-PRO lite. Fingers crossed.. 😁
The Gunman She says she's waiting for my Birthday next week. I did get a load of other stuff to help paint the E type though. I couldn't have attempted that without your help through this channel. I'm sure there's many more like me too. All the best.
@@unclesamautos Hi mate if you want to use the pri for base coat you will really need to change not only the air cap but also the fluid tip and needle.
Gunman, I have a PRI 612 and this thing is beyond amazing compared to the 40$ I was using before. The real reason this matters is that the paint transfer and efficiency was SO superior to the cheap gun I had. I was using 300-400ml per panel of epoxy primer with the cheap gun, switched, and finished a panel went to add more paint to the gun, and realized I had half a pot left! saved 50% on paint compared to the cheap gun. Just something that adds up fast when you have expensive paint!
god you make it look easy, iv just been priming a race bike seat, did an OK job considering its in a home made spray booth with a bunnings spray gun...
price is a huge factor glad ur real and honest with ur reviews i personally use the airgunza az3 1.8 mm and find it primes perfectly as well as the pri in my opinion but the look feel and longevity of the devilbiss pri still makes me want 1
Really like the pri pro lite. Does good with ppg sealers with the 1.6 on overalls. Only bad thing is the pattern need to be wider. But overall good gun.
Hey Gunny, I mainly spray pipeline stations for my place of employment. We use Tnemec brand paints and primers mostly, somewhat thick stuff and have to keep the mils high. Think the Pri Prolite would be a good gun and leave a nice finish with a 1.8? Our current guns are just about done for
Absolutely, you would definitely be impressed. Another good and cheaper option would be the GPi in 1.8 Spraygunsdirect.co.uk have them both in stock usually
@@TheGunmanChannel Oh I'm already set on the GPI as well as the Tekna Prolite and the Iwata Supernova thanks to you. My 4 year old daughter and I watch your videos all the time and she wants to be a paint tech when she grows up, she even has a little touch up gun I got just for her to play with and one day practice with. Thanks for the confirmation, Gunny. I'll let you know if I need any other advice, if that's OK with you?
Just got one and noticed it is producing bubbles in the cup. Checked the white gasket and it was fine. Not sure if its the baffle plate, spray head or cap retaining ring. Layed a thin strip of electricians tape around the spray head as a test. Seemed to to stop the bubbles. Pissed that a new gun that is this expensive is giving issues.
Contact them, I would nearly guarantee they'll help you out, if it came as a faulty gun and no wrongdoing on your behalf they will send it back to DeVilbiss for reviewing.
Edit : I just read the manual and the air caps are not interchangeable according to the Devilbiss manual Question for ya Gunman. PRi Pro has a Primer Air cap ( Primer 101) but as the GTi3 air cap locking ring and Gti fluid tip and needle. Does this mean you can change the air cap for a Gti cap and use it for more than just a primer gun?
Hi, thanks for all your great reviews. You did one on the Devilbiss FLG-5 a while ago, (I bought this gun purely on the review) but can't find it in your reviews. What was the title of it please. Many thanks from the U.K. Mike
I've been priming with an Air Gunsa AZ3 Impact, but I've been wanting a Devilbiss PRI (U.S). Can you do a review on the AZ3 Impact? Just to see what you think. It has a really wide fan which I keep turned down.
The Gunman which would be the better all around gun this one ,or the tekna prolite? Start a rest mod project would be nice to find a top shelf all around gun so I'm not spending on things I don't really need
Hi..love your videos..do you know anything about the sata jet 100 bf rp primer gun. ? ? Love if you could compare it and the pri pro? ..I'm not sure which to buy.
Hey Gunman, i saw there were other fluid tips with it, is this gun comparable with the GTI pro lite when it's got the 1.2 or 1.3 on it for base and clear? How is the PRI pro lite compared to the GPI? Thanks in advance... keep those vids coming... Grts from Belgium
the air cap is a primer air cap. I notice this too and i think it is just a matter for changing the aircap for a Gti one to make it work for your base and clear coats. Check out the PDF parts catalogs on the Devilbiss website. Downlaod is on the LH side on each page and take a look for yourself. www.autorefinishdevilbiss.com/products/devilbiss/gravity-feed-spray-guns-and-cups/gti-gravity.aspx#62012-parts--accessories www.autorefinishdevilbiss.com/products/devilbiss/gravity-feed-spray-guns-and-cups/pri-gravity.aspx#62320-parts--accessories
You can BUT because the air tanks are smaller, they have to run more to keep up with the supply and then they run hot. That additional heat usually means a lot of moisture building up from condensation inside the tanks which will cause you to get a lot of water coming through the air line into the gun and that will make a mess unless you trap it with in-line water filters - then you might be OK. I've gone up to a 60 gallon and makes a world of difference. Always open the drain plug at the bottom of the air tank before you paint to get rid of the water sitting in the bottom of the air tank as well. That will help.
Some clarification please, is it a primer gun only? Cause it's been sold with 1,4 too. Also I would like to ask when you say primer you mean primer surfaser or epoxy primer? Thank you.
hello, I have tekna prolite.. could you please advice me on the best settings to your knowledge, (psi and mm size) for base coat, possibly primer (I'm thinking about buying a different spray gun for primer ) and clear coat.. much appreciated from the US
Hey Mate love your videos. Thanks to you i've decided on a Devilbiss GTI, but i'm not sure what combo of tips to chose from and what air caps. Will be using it to spray my base color and then also to spray my clear, whats the best combo if i'm going to only be using the one gun? Great channel mate, i'm from NSW but live in the US for the past 10 years, your videos give me a taste of home. Cheers. Will be buying my gun from spraygunsdirect too, thanks!
