I loved everything about this boss. They did a beautiful job translating actual lion dancing into boss attacks. The way they shake the head, the way the mouth moves, standing very tall and the jumping... So nostalgic! Incredible fight.
Fight was crazy as hell for me, I was using Godfreys axe and I would use his element change animation to buff myself with the ash of war. This part of the song played with his roar and my character doing the battle cry
“O Horn-deck’d beast, from higher sphere deliver’d… take root inside the tower’s sculpted keepers, and perch’d within, we beg of thee; rise! Dance and cavort, cleanse all that thou wilt. Cruelty, woe, and those who plague the tower… cleanse away the strumpet’s vile progeny.”
This whole fight was a spectacle from start to finish. Especially the lightning phase was visually stunning! The amazing OST is the cherry on top. Masterpiece!
I am absolutely convinced that this boss is this generation's ludwig. both are gamebreaking with their own niches ( ludwig being a mastery of bone and mesh design and the lion boss is a show of fromsoft's Cloth physics mastery) each have kick ass osts and they both sync to their osts. not to mention both having horrible cameras 😅 both are most likely the player's first encounter in the dlc
My favorite part about the theme is that there’s a wild rhythm to it reminiscent to a festival, which is the origins of the boss, a graceful dance utilized for war. And is it just me, or appearance wise it looks like it takes inspiration from Chinese Dragon dances and the traditional image of the Tarasque? Because that just fits the theme even more. God I love FromSoft.
The whole fight with this guy my mouth was agape in pure awe, and I never once got mad when I died to him because it meant I could listen to the theme even more. It was probably just my settings, but it felt like as the fight progressed the music actually got louder in-game and it made it so much more intense. I’m so glad FromSoft is letting the themes have driving motifs again, the majority of the base game boss themes felt indistinguishable from each other for the most part.
O Horn-deck'd beast, from higher sphere deliver'd. We beg of thee to dance and cavort. Dance and cavort, cleanse all that thou wilt. Cruelty, woe, and those who plague the tower. Cleanse away the strumpet's vile progeny.
I'm not even joking when I say this game is the best game I've ever played and the best boss I've ever had the pleasure of fighting. It's so goddamn good and there aren't any flaws or dislikes I have; even the fucking difficulty is well made! Also, it can't be just me when I say that this mofo is DEFINITELY attacking me to the music.
The incredible thing is that the boss is literally dancing the entire fight, and the music is as much a part of the fight as he is. He follows his own musical cues.

Creates a claustrophobic effect
This ost is nutty already one of my favs from the game especially phase 2
I lost so many times to him, and I am not even mad! Amazing boss design along with the soundtrack!
I loved everything about this boss. They did a beautiful job translating actual lion dancing into boss attacks. The way they shake the head, the way the mouth moves, standing very tall and the jumping... So nostalgic! Incredible fight.
3:06 and on is just pure raw strength and confidence
"I'm the dancing lion! And I'ma be dancing on your grave~"
- dancing lion
-dancing clown
There are times when the lion roaring to the sky, transitioning to other element and the music is right at 1:59
It looks so epic, goddamn!
Best boss fight in all of Elden Ring IMHO. This track being a big part of the reason why it's top for me.
2:45 The vocals are so satisfying here. It feels like a real song that I would watch Lion Dancers dance to.
Oh, a man of culture
can't wait for this to release on spotify
It feels like a celebration more than a fight ...... Masterpiece
This whole fight was a spectacle from start to finish. Especially the lightning phase was visually stunning! The amazing OST is the cherry on top. Masterpiece!
This part is so good 1:01
Best part
Sounds kinda like living failures choir
My fav
This is some of the hardest shit I’ve ever heard in my life.
The boss fight could easily be the final boss to any game. And it one of the fist ones in the dlc!
This boss is so fucking cool
Imagine having to make a game after shadow of the erdtree. These people are so talented they still dont think they peaked with this. I love that.
It was like we were fighting in a movie scene. Absolute cinema

@@Qiuvox YESS!! 🙌
Shoi myiazawa is so fucking great composer
shit makes me wanna dance like a divine beast dancing lion
1:58 when he goes in ice goes so hard
@@felixcote1697 That’s actually the wind transition!
That’s actually the wind transition!
@@simonloos2092 it's random whether it goes into any of the phases.
@@TheBiggleCheese Not the music. The music is specific to phases.

1:28 Phase 2 you will feel some Elements ⚡❄🌪
🦁
I'm not even joking when I say this game is the best game I've ever played and the best boss I've ever had the pleasure of fighting.
It's so goddamn good and there aren't any flaws or dislikes I have; even the fucking difficulty is well made!
Also, it can't be just me when I say that this mofo is DEFINITELY attacking me to the music.
fought this guy day one and immediately knew this dlc was gonna be peak and I was so fucking right dear god.
0:00 to 3:53 best part
"Damn this music goes hard, I wish I could see what the fuck is happening"
-Me during the Dancing Lion fight
The incredible thing is that the boss is literally dancing the entire fight, and the music is as much a part of the fight as he is. He follows his own musical cues.
How do they always cook?
this ost is otherworldly
I'm in ng+7 struggling a lot and heard the 1:52 part right before dying. I rushed here to appreciate the entire music, what a nice musical piece
