I grew up on this show. I loved it!!
Really fun when sisters Eunice and Ellen spar and squabble verbally in the attic (Eunice reacting to the truth about her pet bunny is priceless), and then the sketch with Carol and Tim and Harvey at the bar is very funny.

One of the Best Shows, Ever!
How many of you Canadians remember when we got to see the new episode a few days before it aired in America? CBC in Canada showed the new episode three or four days before, and if it was an especially funny episode we could watch it again when CBS aired it on Saturday.
I definitely remember that! I live in New Brunswick and remember watching this on CBC with my family. Then watched it again on CBS.

I’ve read it a couple times that she pulled most of those sketch ideas from conversations that happened between her mom/dad & grandmother that lived w/them 💔Amazing how she could turn heartache into comedy…so talented!! Love her so much!!

Anyone think Carol should have done sketches that crossed over? For e.g. A crossover between Tudball and Wiggins and The Family? Maybe Ed could be doing business with Mr. Tudball or something... I dunno how Carol would play both Eunice and Mrs Wiggins in front of a live audience though.

At the 32:07 mark, when Tim asked for potato chips and Harvey said there was only popcorn, can anyone explain why Harvey broke up and the audience laughed? I'm guessing this is an unexpected blooper, but I'm not quite getting why this is funny. What am I missing?
Tim's mission was to make other actors break character. He succeeded splendidly and made comedic history.
According to the Wikipedia article on the Carol Burnett Show, each episode was filmed twice, in front of two different audiences, and the best parts of each episode were then edited together.
So I'm thinking in the first filming, Tim adlibbed one line maybe asking for salted peanuts or something. In the second filming, he asks for chips, and since it's the second occurrence of an ad-lib, Korman just had to break up laughing.

I thought Tim meant "chips" as in coins, as in he was wanting to get some lose change back out of the $20. But Harvey thought he meant potato chips lol I could be wrong but I thought that's when he was talking about

Is it possible for these to be remastered?
Somehow, I was wasting more time a couple of nights back when I saw some of the cold Carol Burnett Show 1967-1978 which I always watched on Saturday long before the days of recording TV shows. At about the 36 minute mark, Carol introduces this piece based on Florenz Ziegfield's kind of show (Google him). It's 10 minutes of terrific music, dancing and comedy...including funny Betty White.

If those old ladies graduated in the 30s, and this show is the 70s thats just 40 years later. So those ladies are suppose to be in their 60s? They seem like they are in thrir 90s! Their song was delightful, and as usual such sympathtic characters. Just a little ageist.
Ugh... Tim Conway! I was hoping he'd be off doing another show I wouldn't be watching.
