God I loved television back then. No hate, propaganda or indoctrination. Just plain entertainment. It will NEVER happen again sadly. So magical.
So right.
It was. I feel so blessed to have grown up when people.could (and did) laugh about anything.
I completely agree. There's no magic anymore.
Now it's 5 minuites t.v. then 10 commercials.
Soo true
For us baby boomers Carol, Tim, Harvey, Vicki, Lyle, Johnny and Ed were a huge part of our lives! We only had 3 channels! And watching these people was absolutely amazing!
I loved her show, she was the best!
For us older Generation Xers too!
Five. You forgot PBS and the "local, then the three networks.
The greatest variety show ever, and there were several good ones.
1 channel. Channel 12.
The dental scene with Conway and Korman, again improvised by Conway, is priceless.
How I miss those days of television
Carol will be turning 90 in a couple of months. She is certainly one of the greats.
Peter: That's a very sobering fact. Hard to image that it's possible. She'll be forever youthful and vibrant to those of us who grew up watching her in prime time. We're blessed by these great ones who respected themselves and others, and gave us endless laughs ❤
Very real and authentic
My Mother just activated to 90..Same birthday as Yoko Uno..no kidding. 💋..
@@finddeniro bless her.
@@PeterG1975 ..Marilyn has had a Great Faithful Run in Living..and still giggling..
100 likes Facebook..70 cards and Classy Flowers..
7 kids .
Carol, Tim, Harvey, Vicky& Lionel were the funniest company ever put together! I loved them.
I was bullied in elementary school, and every Saturday night, I looked forward to watching the Carol Burnett Show. It gave me peace of mind. Thank you, Carol.😊❤
Nice! 😊
Same here
On her "Gone with the Wind" sketch & I saw her coming down the stairs with a curtain rod in her shoulders, I was in stitches laughing!!! Harvey was already snickering when he complimented her & she just brought it home with: "I saw it in the window & I had to have it. "🤣😂🤣... That's when Harvey lost it!! Y'all, this entire show is priceless & nothing could be compared to the clean, hilarity that this show graced us with in my life 😊💝
That sketch still brings back memories! Watching with my family as a teenager. I was laughing at the skit and at my parents! They were laughing so hard! It was such fun! Thanks for the memories Carol and everyone on the show! ❤❤❤
OMG thank you for the memory that was hilarious! 😆
That was my very favorite clip from the Carol Burnett show. Happy to hear someone else praising it.
@hilarylaw8415 That's the kinda family I was raised around😁! I can't remember a second spent when we weren't laughing & singing while pickin' our guitars🤗 *those were the days I'm forever holding on to
That was a classic sketch…! OMG..! (this from a 60yrs young man).., memories…
I really miss Johnny Carson - humor, intelligence, class!
Spread the word 🙏
Fantastic....sooo many memories & so much talent 🎉 11:44
And the best ad-libber on TV!
Class and dignity.
Actual interviews, unlike the crap late night shows today.
I was just a kid back in the 70s, and I remember watching Carroll Burnett with my parents. My dad had an amazing sense of humor, but I never heard him laugh like did at Tim Conway. He loved Johnny too. Those really were the days.
I think Tim Conway was really funny too! I think he was an interesting kid. Could you imagine?!?
I think Johnny was the best. I think he was very professional, and intelligent. He even got Elizabeth Taylor to come out and show before he retired. Johnny was class, intelligent and funny. I love is laugh! So sincere and real!
Johnny Carson got some of the best talent to come on his show. Before he retired Elizabeth Taylor came on his show.
Actually it would be Don Knotts and I or I and Don Knotts.
How did he do with Rickles?
And she's still killin' it at 91; what a legend!
Tim was one of the funniest comedic actors ever.
The Carol Burnett Show was a piece of genius. We have many talented people today, but no one can hold a candle to what those folks did. Pure joy. I'm so glad we had that time together.
They didn't need to curse, be nasty, or go in the gutter back then, because compared to later on, and, of course, now days, life back then was more positive, hopeful and more innocent.
I was a kid watching that and just completely charmed by her ❤
I loved old TV did people notice no f word even once
Great comment
Ditto
Tim, Carroll, and Johnny - on the same stage at same time - PURE GOLD!
Those of us who are old enough to recognize the names she throwing out, makes me realize how lucky I am.
It is so weird the way older people are Lording it over our heads about how much better the entertainment was in the past. Seems like older people are addicted to negativity?
You don't have to be old. Thanks to Ted Turner and TCM most of the old movies are being replayed and restored. We can still see the silent movies and all the great actors, throughout the decades!
@@Mister_Listener Why so "offended" that people enjoy remarking about the good old days and appreciated quality workmanship?
@@pcatMe just confused why you cant like what you like and stop bashing other stuff that’s new. Old people have been doing that for years, it is kind of a threshold we all cross into cranky old age behavior. Enjoy what you enjoy and leave the kids alone…dont be THAT guy. Hugs!!
@@Mister_Listener actually most of as that are old enough to have experienced real comedy have the ability to make comparisons that are not available to you nothing negative to ward you age does have its advantages in some small ways
After Carol sits down, she, touches her ear, its something she does for her grandmother. I remember her talking about it in an interview. Her grandmother asked if she could say Hi to her on TV. Carol instead would touch her ear. I believe she did it at the end of every show.
She did
Yesss 😊
Tim Conway and Harvey Korman were one of the great comedy duos on television! Koman could hardly hold himself together once Conway got going!!
I was thinking of those two the entire time watching this clip
@@mansfield61 we grew up watching those great comedians!
They just don't make shows like this anymore!
Absolutely
Tim and Don Knotts were gold too.
@@robertthomas5906 absolutely
The best television had to offer! We grew up watching these amazing people and we didn't realize how lucky we were! It makes me kind of sad for kids in today's world.
We were so lucky indeed.
Oh, do I agree!!! And I miss it, too!
One of the best comedic actresses in history.
I just saw her on TV, and she is a wonderful serous actress.
I always preferred her to Lucille Ball.
I could always tell my Mom was watching the Carol Burnett Show in the front room as I was in my bedroom because she let out this unbridled laughter that I had never heard from her before or since the show ended. It was pure comedic enjoyment that I will always remember.
Johnny *really* knew how to honor a guest and introduce them with style and class. Both Carol and Johnny were in a league of their own...
That was one of if not the most thing I liked most about Carson. He focused on his guests and built them up rather than tryiing to compete with them or build himself up above them. Carson is truly a professional and I miss his late night entertainment - the same goes for Carol Burnett
@@donaldloehr4300 Johnny set them up for them to knock them down. Johnny was pure class, and the best ever.
P00
@@scottrackley4457😊😊
Don't know why, but I cracked up at most of what Tim Conway said. How he could keep that deadpan face and drop the most humorful lines was comedic genius!
First time I got to go in an airplane by myself I was 10 years old I flew from Oregon to New Hampshire to stay 3 months with my grandma I did that three summers in a row did every night we would watch Johnny Carson together I think she's the one that turned me into a night owl❤❤❤❤
The Carol Burnett Show was "my show" growing up. Tim Conway was one of the funniest people ever.
No swearing or sexual comments just entertainment even kids could watch. Comedians didn’t swear every other word. U r so right about the show.
By many accounts, Carol was one of the nicest people in showbiz. Class personified!
She still is !!
CarolCo was also responsible for the birth of the Star Trek franchise, among other great achievements.
@@randyhanson837 Star Trek was Desilu. Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball.
The entertainment of my youth..I miss it so much.
I got to meet Jimmy Stewart by attending his church when I moved out to West Hollywood in 1979. I know how Carol feels.
Carol is as good as it gets. Top notch. The Best.
Many years ago I lived in Hawaii. I flew an airplane for the Hawaiian Holiday Macadamia Nut Company. The owners of the airplane were friends with Jim Nabors and he had a large macadamia nut farm on his property in Hana. We were called up to take Carol Burnett and Jim Nabors to the Hana Airport the next morning. So we were waiting for them to show up at the Honolulu Airport on Oahu . We had met Jim Nabors a number of times so he would recognize us and when they showed up it was so nice to meet Carol because she came up hugged us both and smiled and laughed a little. I was smitten for about an hour. When we landed at Hana they both got off the plane and we sat there doing nothing for about 30 minutes. Kinda stunned. I was 23 yo and now I’m a 70 yo disabled veteran and retired Corporate Pilot living in NYC with the same smile on my face.
When Carol did her Tarzan yell, my 3 dogs all stopped, stared at the phone, and started turning their heads back and forth like dogs do when they are curious about something... it was hilarious 😊 loved The Carol Burnett Show ❤❤
The innocence of that era compared to the junk we have today is iconic
We miss real talent❤
There will never be talent like the people they were partying with the night before. I miss Carson.
They just hid it from everybody then.
Absolute junk today correct 💯
I grew up in the 70's watching the Carol Burnett, show, and Tim was always my favorite! He was a situational comedy genius. I loved how his ad libs in the skits that would make the other's crack up. Truly funny and clean humor on TV! Miss those days!🙂
I agree!
The skit with “Momma’s Family” and his story about the damn elephant. When Carol Burnett, Vicki Lawrence (she’s tough!) and Harvey Korman, all seasoned professionals, can’t contain themselves, well that’s comedic nirvana. He was absolutely brilliant. That entire cast was phenomenal.
@@bethkemp5715 one of my favorite skits EVER!
Her asking if the little ahole was done yet… hilarious!
@@cathyhaynes2700 Vicki Lawrence was a legend. She was the most difficult to break when Conway went rogue. Man. That was the best comedy ever. The best!!
@@bethkemp5715 I 100% agree.
My mom loved the Carol Burnett show and Mama's Family both. She got me started watching it a long time ago. The thing is, it's just as funny now as it ever was.
There's nothing that compares these days.
The Carol Burnett Show Was So Great, And Her Show Will Never Be Forgotten. 😆
RIP Tim Conway. Passed away only a few years ago. He was so funny on with Johnny in the 80s doing those skits.
Tim was a jewel. His son now does radio on Kfi and is just a name dropper with stories about himself. I turn it off when he comes on. I miss real personalities.
Carol Burnett and Lucille Ball were always my favorites. Johnny was THE BEST!
Johnny Carson was the best, he will never be replaced
These were some of the geniuses of pure comedy that I miss so much. No anger, no depending on the word f*** in every sentence, no shock jocks. They just gave us laughter of the joyous kind, which truly is the best medicine. I hope you all have the angels rolling in the aisles!
I agree with him she’s special timeless and beautiful
I love the sketch where Tim adlibs about Siamese elephants connected at their trunks, during a card came with mama.
Gnorkey!
Love love them in everything, but that elephant one is the favorite
Classic! 😂😂😂
OMG, yes! And the Dentidt sketch. And....😺
@@gabesmom5615, I see it and the dentist skit, and they crack me up every time.
I loved growing up in that era. Great icons and talent. Hollywood was more respectable and celebrities seemed to handle their popularity better at least on the surface.
Two legends talking about legends.
Carol was wowed by meeting her movie idols.
I am wowed by Carol, one of our greatest comedy stars.
I cried so hard when the last episode of the Carol Burnet show. It was as tho part of the world ended.
Carol and Tim, two classy acts.
Love how carol laughs at Tim lol.
What a treasure she is. One of the great entertainers of all time.
Glad I was alive when quality TV was the rule!
I love Tim Conway and Carol Burnett. ❤️❤️
What a great time to be alive back then. The good ol days
Everyone says that about all times ever.
If I had a quarter to everyone who's said that I'd be rich 🤑💰
@@morbidmanmusic No, they don't.
Johnnie Carson was such a fabulous interviewer, when he liked his guest it was so sincere & so intimate. Like chatting with an old friend ❤❤❤
The names she mentions... wow. A who's who of my favs since childhood.
Carol's still the best and funniest. Still working at 89!
Everyone watched her show back in the day. All backgrounds, religions, races, etc....
Loved the Carol Burnett show. One of the highlights of the 1970s.
How I loved the Carol Bernett show. The players would go out of there way to make each other crack up and break character. They'd have tears in their eyes. Boy that was fun. I felt like I was a part of it somehow. I miss you guys!
Tim Conway, you are a genius Sir! I still laugh out loud at your work! You were and are marvelous! You are missed by us all! God Bless you and your memory Sir!~
Well ty sir but idk what u are talking about.... tim conway! 😅
I watched because of Carol Burnett ~ Loved her reflection of the party... Wonderful Thank you 😊
The Carol Burnett Show bloopers are so funny. The cast was hilarious!
I love Tim and Carol .They are so funny .They make me laugh
Still laughing after all these years
I love that Carol Burnett, as famous and well-loved as she is, described how awesome it was to be sitting, talking, and dancing, with those wonderful actors of my youth! It would have been an other worldly experience. ♥️
Johnny was the best late night host ever. The books today can't even compare.
The boobs.
Wthout question. None like him!
On the east coast you had to wait till 11:00 p.m. But you saw the BEST? Miss him.
Burnett is still the best variety comedy ever. Spectacularly talented. But I remember seeing Tim Conway first on McHale's Navy and he was hilarious then. Great writing and screwball comedy. Along w Bilko, Car 54, Dick VanDyke, Andy Griffith. Fabulous stuff. And you could watch w your parents without
The Carol Burnett show was simply the best entertainment. She is the only star I've ever wanted to meet.
I loved Carol Burnett and Tim Conway in just about anything. And there will never be another Johnny Carson. He was absolutely the best at what he did. I miss his show every night.
OMG, I can remember Carol as a kid and watching her. She is as memorable for me as much as my parents!
Oh!! My goodness! What did your parents do that made them memorable?!! 🤣🤣
Carol Burnett is such a good actress and comedian. I totally put her up there with Lucille Ball.
Wish we had shows like that today!
Johnny was respectful with pretty much everyone, but you knew when he was a hundred percent in with someone like he’s doing here with Carol. ❤
Carson's show was the best. New comedians and singers got their big break with him. A great show.
Comedy Legends!!! 😊👌👍🍁♈ RIP Tim Conway 😔 Johnny Carson and ED 😔
A lost era of comedy. When wits were clean, and funnier than anything heard today.
Only because they had to be for TV. You can bet the stories and jokes at their parties would give you a whole new perspective on their comedy.
The two best. RIP Conway.
Two true icons and Stars here ! I used to watch Miss Carol Burnett’s Show when it was originally on, and Mr. Johnny Carson’s Show. Love them both. ❤️
Miss Them all! So Much!
Excellent episode!!! I miss Johnny’s show so much. The best!!! Glad they have it on RUclips.
I try to watch other late night shows but soon quit them. None come close to Johnny's character and shows
@@jerryjohnson2817 … I agree 😊
This is truly a beautiful interview to watch. These are truly golden years in entertainment for TV and movies. I have wonderful memories watching the Carol Burnett show with my mother.
You can't compare what TV was back then that s when talent was great
I'm so glad I grew up back in those days. I haven't looked at a tv set in over 40 years now. I hurts my brain to be within earshot of one these days.
I must admit, I leave mine on old tv sitcoms, old westerns, etc. ✅
@@nickroberts6850 tubi and crackle and freevee apps are good for that. RUclips, too, right?!
I always marvelled at Carol's sense of humor ,i'll never forget when she was on the Lucy Show
Carson, Ed, and guests will forever represent the Golden Age of Television. Blessings!
That’s when conservatives ran Hollywood
Love Carol ..thank you lady for making my life happy as a kid.. and now! I’m old now.. I miss your show..
Carol Burnett you are one of the legends!!!!We love you!!The ear tug was so cool
Growing up with Johnny Carson playing on TV downstairs while I was in bed for school the next day was normal. When Johnny decided to retire from the show, it was an end to an era for me.
Oh how I loved TV shows in those days not to mention the MOVIE STARS they were talking about--- FANTASTIC!!!!
These two icons from my tv time are so well imprinted in my early days. Johnny Carson was the Tonight Show and Carol Burnett was and is Her show. Memories in the onlineverse!
It was always a joy to watch the Carol Burnett show and then later Carol Burnett and friends. With amazing casts members Tim, Vicki, Harvey AND Lyle. Any true fan could go on forever talking about you wonderful people who stole our hearts and made us laugh and cry. To one and all who are still with us and those that have passed away God Bless you!
Why did I tear up when I heard the theme song for Carol ❤
OMG The Apple Dumpling Gang movies were the best for kids in the 70's! Such a blast from the past, I really enjoyed seeing Carol Burnett fangirling over old hollywood stars! Thank you for this channel
It’s likely considered racially insensitive now…
My friends (along with myself) watched The Carol Burnett show religiously every Saturday night. Though we were in high school and others were out doing crazy things, our Saturday routine was a constant in our lives. We’d gather at someone’s home, make popcorn and ready ourselves for an hour of laughter.
When Carol was cancelled, we were beside ourselves and mourned the loss of what we perceived as 60 minutes of pure entertainment and laughter that often led to tears.
There will never be another television show like Carol’s.
Nothing will come close to this as television today is warped with what you can and cannot say, the woke BS, etc. And that’s a damn shame.
I sat down in a crowed restaurant at the bar in Virginia, with an engineer friend of mine from G.E. This guy came in and sat next to me. He looked kinda familiar, but I couldn’t think of his name. Then, it dawned on me. I turned to him and said. “Excuse me, didn’t you used to be Gregory Peck”? He replied, “yes, I still am.” Then he laughed and bought my lunch. He said that was the funniest thing he ever been asked.
I miss Johnny. When Peter Jennings passed away it was heartbreaking too. We've lost some of the best!
These past upload videos of these legends have been sensational. Kudos to Carson Entertainment! Hopefully some full episodes down the road!
Well recently you got your wish because somewhere on the TV programs there is Johnny Carson now, so just Google it. I don’t remember which program it was on but I believe it’s a full series of his programs that which I miss and loved especially when the animals are on from the San Diego zoo or wild animal Park. I too watched Johnny Carson with my parents in the 60s and 70s.
I was just able to look it up and it looks like Pluto and Peacock and possibly NBC .
I was lucky enough to see Carols show in person. I was 12. Her uncle lived behind us and gave us tickets. We sat in the front and she asked us how we made it to the front row. I told her, her uncle got is the tickets. I was so excited that she spoke to me. She is a treasure
Awww, I love these old comedians!! Thanks for the laughs!😍
I miss the old days.
Johnny was truly one of the greats loved staying up to watch his show all those wonderful guests always a class act.
An era we will never see again. The comedy was silly and funny. ❤️
she is a one of a kind talent
How many wonderful memories i have of those days !! I really loved Tim Conway !
Great wholesome show the whole family could watch together, I miss these programs! Sonny and Cher were great too!💖
Takes me right back to my childhood living room with my parents sitting in their recliners, all of us watching both of these shows together!
Here we are 2023.
And Texas's favorite daughter, Carol will be 90 this April.
She is such a Beauty, and what a great mind too.
I read somewhere, that Bob Baker asked her to be on TPiR
as a April Fools Day model. She said she was to old, and then
Janice Pennington told her they were the same age.
I really hope she did it. The book never said.
Tim is pound for pound one of the great funny story tellers.
When he was a kid, a tornado hit the town he lived in.
His Dad who often drank his dinner from a paper bag, heard the sirens, and the storm, but did nothing till the storm passed. Then he got up. Open the front door, and looking at all the carnage yelled to Tim's Mom,
Martha! Have you seen what the damned kids have done now?
