EB. That sounds like my house. I used to get chased round the house with belts, wooden spoons, if I did something wrong.
The worst thing was hearing my mum say those 6 little words.
Wait until your father gets home.
You don’t get that in British households to, parents disciplining their kids. The way kids speak to their parents and adults now, I wouldn’t be able to get away with it.

Malaysian mom's usually keep marinated fish in an empty ice cream container and stored it in the fridge to be cooked next time, but the children and teenagers will gets disappointed when they opens the ice cream box just to find fishes instead of ice cream

I think there is a difference between u getting a belt vs Asians. It's not normal in the west but it is kinda normal in Asia. So I am sorry to hear about your experience growing up. Asian parents can be hardcore at times but for us we are kinda used to it. Hard to explain it, I am close to my mom growing up but I know if I ever cross the line I will get it. Lol. And definitely I wouldn't dare testing my dad. I remember my friend told me she got 96 for her math score and she was happy to tell her mom she got 96. But when her mother found out she got 2 wrong answers, she cane her twice for getting 2 wrong answers. Surprisingly she's very close to her mom as an adult and thankfully my parents were not that mean, I would have hated them. 🤭. Having said that parenting in Asia is changing though and they are getting more and more lenient with their kids
