  • Brit Floyd in Prescott Valley, AZ was INSANELY AWESOME! This video is the encore song, "Run Like Hell", and as the song progresses, the light show intensifies to the point of absolute EPICNESS!!! Seriously, watch this whole thing! These guys did Pink Floyd beautifully and if they come to your town, I highly recommend going. They are on a worldwide tour right now for 2024, so hopefully you can catch them.

Imagine what Pink Floyd would have done with this technology now. 1994 Pulse concert was unreal over 30yrs ago. This is awesome also!

It is hard to explain to someone who hasn’t seen them just how great they are. It’s true that calling them a “tribute band” does not do them justice. I did the VIP thing in Denver and seeing them flawlessly perform Brain Damage/Eclipse in the soundcheck with maybe 15 people total in the audience was almost criminal. On top of it all they seem like genuinely humble down-to-earth people. Next year they are celebrating the 30th anniversary of Wish You Were Here which will be an incredible show!

There are lots of tribute bands... to put Brit Floyd in the same category with the others is ridiculous! This so called tribute band sounds better and puts on a better show than 99% of the original bands regardless of genre. It's not often that you can go to a concert these days and feel like you got every penny worth of the ticket price! I actually felt like I needed to leave a tip for the band when it was over.

There are a number of Pink Floyd tribute bands that get great reviews. I've seen Australian Pink Floyd and Brit Floyd around 6-8 times each. They both do a great job of authentically reproducing their sound and music. Australian Pink Floyd had played at David Gilmore's 50th birthday party and he was so impressed he sent his engineers to collaborate with them to help them sound even more authentic. A few years after that 2 members broke off from Aussie Floyd (on good terms) and started Brit Floyd. I can attest that they both do a great job of honoring and reproducing the Pink Floyd experience. The sound is always top notch as are the light shows. And speaking of light shows. While the band has to stay true to the music, anything goes with the light show. The only rule is that it has to stay in pulse with the music. So it's an opportunity for many great rock concert lighting designers to show off their chops. Pink Floyd music will live on just like Beethoven and other great classical composers long after they're all dead. But already there are numerous bands honoring them while the original members are still alive. And we get to see these fantastic performances in a much more intimate setting. Recently saw Brit Floyd at Red Rocks (June 2024) and it seemed like a giant finger pushed continuously down on every one of my concert enjoyment buttons for the whole show. Absolutely fantastic.

I’m not so sure Damian left on amicable terms.
I saw Aussie Floyd in NYC around 10 years ago at the Best Buy Theatre (old Lowes Astor Plaza movie Theatre)
Before the show I was talking to the girls at the merch counter and when talking about Damian they said the band was pissed because Damian had attempted to get some of the band members of Aussie Floyd to jump ship to his band.
I can’t verify if true, but I don’t know why the girls would make up something like that, So, I don’t care how good Brit Floyd is
I’ll never contribute a penny to their coffers or support Damian no matter how good a guitar player he is….
I’ve seen some good Floyd tribute bands over the years… The Machine, Bricks in the Wall, Dark Sarcasm as well as seeing
Pink Floyd minus Roger a couple of times….and Roger 6 times…. Love Floyd’s music but I’ll spend my money supporting Aussie Floyd these days.
As a matter of fact, I’m taking some friends to see Aussie Floyd tonight at the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans.
Just disappointed Mac and Jason aren’t on this tour….🙁

Sometimes clashes between the members makes splits happen. Considering that the ones who left to made their own Pink Floyd show, it is a testament to the love of the music from everyone. It's not a competition, the music is what's important and every member shows their love for it in every performance. I am a music producer as well, and regardless of band drama, both bands are repping Pink Floyd very well. When you're in the music business like I am, you learn that the public will create more to a situation than there really is. As you said, you can't verify if what you heard was true, so please take it with a grain of salt. Most bands keep their opinions and feelings about members and situations confined to within the inner circle. Girls at a mech counter would most likely not be privy to exactly what went on.

I agree with most of what you say. I just want to say that those ladies were touring with the band, so I give their story a little more credibility.
Their point of contention was not that Damian chose to leave the band, but that he attempted to take other members with him.
That, for whatever the reason he left, be it money or creative differences, is one of the reasons I’ll pass on Brit Floyd.
While Brit Floyd, obviously put on a great production, they’ve also increased the cost of tickets.
(I can only go by the cost of tickets at the Beacon Theatre in NYC, around $100, maybe it’s the venue that’s responsible for that?)
But, no matter how good a show is, it’s still not Gilmore, Waters and company. It’s a tribute band.
I’d rather spend half that amount to see Aussie Floyd’s show performing someone else’s music, than pay a ticket price that I’d pay to see an original artist performing their own music.
It also doesn’t help when Ticketmaster tags you with a $15 surcharge on each ticket.
I’m grateful that there are so many bands that are performing their own Floyd shows in smaller venues keeping the music alive,
because after all, it’s the music that’s the real important part of it. All the best, TC 🍻😎

@@topcat43truffles15 At least Brit Floyd try and keep the theme of Pink Floyd in their shows, rather than having kangaroos etc in their shows. Each to their own choices, but means I've been a fan of Brit Floyd for over 12 years now, and have been GIVEN free stuff from them, I'll stick to the Brit version, thanks.
