Fun fact...That small airport called Subang International Airport used to be KL's main international airport before the KLIA1 & KLIA 2 begans operation way back in around 1999...Before the Subang Airport, there is another smaller airport right in the middle of KL called Sungai Besi Airport....

Those days, there are no "Sky Bridge". Then in early 80s (in my early 20s) i got to fly to Kota Kinabalu from Subang Airport... Sweet memories indeed...
Just a slight correction. The original Subang international airport main terminal which was located just next to the current one was unfortunately demolished many years ago and the one operating now - Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport or Subang Skypark, was built to support the then main terminal much later and was to mainly serve domestic and some regional and chartered flights. Hence the airport runway has the capacity to even accommodate larger aircrafts like the 747s and the likes including the Antonov 124.

Totally agree that Malaysia is a lot better than Indonesia. Kuala Lumpur is cheaper to live than Jakarta. Indonesia is also too much complicated at the port of entries, pay for visa, and mobile phones don't work till you unlock the Imei number. From 14th February, visitors to Bali also charge for fees.
about ten usd to enter Bali. Annoying, but not such a big deal for most - although that is in addition to a VOA fee. Malaysia introduced a tax some years back on hotel rooms - exclusive to foreign tourists. Not sure how why everyone seems to think Jakarta is so much more expensive. Not my experience.
This is not entirely true, property rental in Jakarta depends on the area, if it is in an elite area the rental price will definitely be expensive but it tends to be cheap and affordable if it is in an ordinary area.

Poison literally does not mean poisonous, but tap water cannot be drunk because in Jakarta, every house draws from groundwater sources directly personally, so the water may not be sterile from germs, not water taken from a special spring that is already sterile. But there are some areas, such as residential areas, where the tap water is drinkable. Overall, I think Jakarta's water for bathing and brushing teeth is still safe, but not for drinking. It's okay to drink, but you have to cook it first, in Indonesia, water for consumption, for example drinking, is usually very sterile bottled water.

Laura has the right attitude of a person in a foreign country- mingle with the locals, you will learn and appreciate more about the people and country. Malaysians generally do like to befriend foreign visitors but wont approach them to strike a conversation because they respect their personal space. But if a foreigner makes the first move, you will find the locals welcoming
Most foreigners will go with the countries that are most developed unfortunately I’m glad I’m not one of them.Unlike many of you I will go with more of the underdeveloped countries such as India,Sri Lanka,Laos,Bangladesh,Myanmar,Indonesia there is a lot of growth and more opportunities in those countries. And what I like is that they aren’t developing too fast they aren’t rushing to become modern and just like Thailand they will still be very cultural as far as how the economy is being ran and the setup and layout of areas and communities.Im not saying Malaysia isn’t a great option but I’ll go with what isn’t that developed and what isn’t most people favorite option.
as a canadian who live in both indonesia and malaysia. i would say if you're planning on living long term or relocate permanently, Malaysia is way better option because of their infastructure, healthcare, public transportation and the system of the whole country is much better. Westerners think that malaysia is a 3rd world country they are so dead wrong. Of course you have singapore that have better infrastructure etc but singaporean dollars are expensive not much of a different with canadian dollars.
Indonesia has better golfing experience and I agree the service quality is better than Malaysia. But in Jakarta, traffic is a nightmare and air quality is not for asthmathic person.
Actually comparing can be productive if you have a positive attitude. For example Malaysia needs to work on its service quality by teaching etiquette and grooming in schools and this could be put into practice by copying Indonesia like allowing senior high school students to intern in the services industry during their holidays while Indonesia could improve on its air quality by having public policy to reduce vehicles into the city (such as incentivize work from home) or promoting High occupancy vehicles or using of more EVs.
The area of Malaysia is not wider than the island of Java. It is only natural that development in Malaysia is evenly distributed, whereas the area of Indonesia is many times larger than Malaysia.
I've been to KL many times, and it is cheaper compare to Jakarta in term of properties, food in malls and branded products. Living cost in KL for average people like me would be less compare to Jakarta.
If you live in a rented house in Jakarta it doesn't seem good, if you want more luxury, stay in SCBD, PIK, etc. The regions of Malaysia and Indonesia are very different, From Aceh to Papua by plane takes 8-9 hours within one country Jakarta, Korea takes 7 hours many big cities in Indonesia Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Semarang, Medan, Balikpapan, Manado, Makassar etc.😂

Selebihnya saya tak temukan apa-apa poin lain lagi

Bahasa Indonesia is indeed comin from classic malay in Indonesia as it's roots but Bahasa Indonesia rapidly growing up by absorbing hundreds of local languages that only exists in Indonesia n also many foreign languages which make modern bahasa Indonesia is already emerge as a totally new language... She said many words are have same meaning.. Well if it for daily conversation u might be find it easy to communicate with Malaysian (especially from malay ethnicity) but that's not becoz many words are have same meaning but more like bahasa Indonesia have more mutual intelligibility than bahasa melayu malaysia.. It is like Ukraine n Russian language, which both also coming from the same roots (classic Slavic)..both people can understand each other but it's two different languages. Or like Portuguese n spanish... The more u dig into bahasa Indonesia standards the more u will found out the difference between modern bahasa Indonesia n malaysia malay language...
Let’s be fair. For Indonesians, of course they’ll say Bahasa Indonesia is different than Bahasa Melayu because that’s just how their government indoctrinate them (and it’s their inferiority complex, too) when in fact, Malay people can easily understand what the Indonesians are saying. Because well, it’s basically Bahasa Melayu. 😒 it’s really not rocket science.
And sure, there are different words referring to the same things in both languages. It’s the same situation anywhere in the world. Different regions use slightly different words despite being originally from the same mother language.

Fun fact...That small airport called Subang International Airport used to be KL's main international airport before the KLIA1 & KLIA 2 begans operation way back in around 1999...Before the Subang Airport, there is another smaller airport right in the middle of KL called Sungai Besi Airport....
Hehe yea... Still have some vague childhood memories from when we depart from that airport...
Subang is a name of Regency in West Java
@@souldancersbyjennifer Yes.. I too have the sweet memories of watching the planes quite close from the "airport's balcony" when sending off some relatives in the 70s.

The main downside of Indonesia compared to Malaysia is that the traffic in Jakarta is unbearable if you want to live in the big city. But it doesn't offer the same luxuries as Kuala Lumpur. Kuala Lumpur offers the best combination of luxuries and services at a reasonable cost of living.
not because of traffic jams.

MashAllah, this was very insightful! Wonderful interview.
Yet you won't say the same thing about Malaysia compared to Singapore lol. Ada aja alasan.
I've been to KL many times, and it is cheaper compare to Jakarta in term of properties, food in malls and branded products. Living cost in KL for average people like me would be less compare to Jakarta.
is this all about indonesia vs malaysia or jakarta vs KL?
If you live in a rented house in Jakarta it doesn't seem good, if you want more luxury, stay in SCBD, PIK, etc.

Jakarta menurutnya sangat terlihat lokal.
5) dia sangat menyukai makanan Malaysia yg beragam.

And sure, there are different words referring to the same things in both languages. It’s the same situation anywhere in the world. Different regions use slightly different words despite being originally from the same mother language.
Btw, no, we are not taught at schools that Bahasa Indonesia is Bahasa Melayu. It’s crystal clear that Bahasa Indonesia = Bahasa Melayu.
Malaysian tap water is completely safe to drink. But somehow 99.99% Malaysians never drink it directly from tap water. Even us Malaysian dont understand why 😂😂😂
tak sedap 😂
66%-80% peoples in Jakarta still using underground water as their main source. That’s why the water quality is bad and that the main reason why the city sink!
Even we know tap water is safe to drink directly...but its a habit to boiled it first...we tought that to avoid cholera as well
You cant beat the "beautiful madness" ❤🇮🇩... great vid👍
Tap water in Malaysia is potable meaning drinkable
However, like the lady said, nobody does. Previously yes.
kartan my first visit to KL was in 2006, at the time i was very amazed of how beautiful KL compared to my city.
My last visit was in 2022 and i didn't get the same feeling. I must say, about 30% part of Jakarta is already at the same level as KL. Overall KL is still my one of my favourite city in SEA after Bangkok.
80% of Jakarta is better than KL...
This showed that live in criwded people is difficukt not other caution. But for the rst you can take other place in indonesya not jakarta
Nah it's okay. Indonesia is not “second home” for the expats anyway. You won this time, Malaysia.
😂
@nishianuar5206 "We were not thrilled to win against Indonesia in many aspects."
Like what?
your strong passport is because of the help of Commonwealth member countries?
your economy is better because it is supported by the Chinese majority?
your better education system just because you use English as a "bahasa penghantar"?
your national language that is said to be spoken by more than three hundred million people?
the prosperity and well-being of the Malays because of “Hak Istimewa 153” and New Economic Policy?
a military that looks strong because it joined an alliance called the FPDA?
culinary diversity from people who are not from your country?
amazing cultures that did not originate in your country but that your country claims as its cultures?
I think there's no thrill because you guys are not winning in any aspect.
One more thing: in soccer, Indonesia and Malaysia have met in 79 matches. Of those 79 matches, Indonesia won 36 times, and Malaysia won 25 times.
I hope that clears things up.
she's only compared KL and jakarta, if they compared to Indonesia and malaysia for me Indonesia is more better, malaysia is just developed country, but Indonesia have everythings, many island many beach mountain volcanoes also Indonesian has more culture and diverse, many food, the nature in Indonesia is malaysia didn't have and malaysia can't beat the nature in indonesia. But i love both countries, i just saying if you compared KL and jakata yeah KL better, but if compared their both as a country, indonesian is way better. Malaysia maybe more advanced than Indonesia but they're not everythings, Indonesia just so big compared to malaysia
