I live in Malaysia, I like it here, I enjoy the diversity. It is safe, friendly, modern good banking system, easy to travel to other Asian destinations. Good infrastructure, nice highways, clean. Excellent food both local and imported. Urban if you want it, great beaches, extensive forests.
I would get so fat in Malaysia, the food is literally the best in the world, particularly Nasi Kandar with 10 different types of curries. Also, coming from the US where I get lots of good fried chicken, the best fried chicken I've had on earth was in KL. Even better than Thai fried chicken too.
Extraordinary man..I wonder how Rhys assimilated adapted to a totally different environment of social.. culture..and speak local language perfectly speedily..amazing
What a wonderful video. Jom. It's really lovely to see you doing interviews in KL. He looks very comfortable talking about his experience living in Malaysia. Max, dah makan?
halo i'm from Malaysia we are Malaysia majority have 70% people can speak English very well so if want to come Malaysia Don't worry about communication to Malaysia people if Indonesia or Thailand also nice place country for traveling but only hard to communication English because they Not so many people can speak English this Not very good for if have emergency
Rhys really go deep into the local...not just staying in expat bubbles in KL, nothing much to learn about Malaysia if foreigners dont get out of the comfort zone...go explore out of the City, other states, Malaysia not only about KL or Penang, Malaysia offers more than that especially when it comes to food..every state have different kind of foods, Rhys is special he know a lot about Malaysia food, cultures...even his favourite food is Nasi Kerabu originated from Kelantan state...something that people wouldnt tell you if you're in KL...
Looks like He's getting use to the unique Malaysian cultures and style... Malaysia is known for being most friendly multi racial, multi racial people living together harmoniously... Warmest welcome to U both 🎉🎉😅
Max is very impressive. Able to catch popular RUclipsrs. Here are some the famous RUclipsrs active in Malaysia. Mark O’Dea - British accent. Many funny youtube videos. A TV host. Mat Dan Ganu - British accent. Impressive, speak heavy Malay Terengganu dialect when lived in Kapas Island. Like Malay food.. A TV host Jessy, A Nomad Life 自由旅居 - From China. Speak China Mandarin and English. Work with Goldman Sachs for 10 years as investment banker. Worked 3 years in Singapore, lived in New York and UK. But finally settled in KL under MM2H in posh area.
I have lived in the Philippines for nearly 6 years now, and sadly, i only know a few words, but I am unable to put a sentence together mainly because of the speed of my filipino friends and locals talk🙂.

oh no, rhys has spilled the beans.. i hope majority of viewers would skip the “hidden gem” part. Reminder: only a tough soul would survive the kelate & ganu dialect 😂
I get it. Malaya was colonized and educated by the English and served them faithfully. So did the Filipinos under the Americans. The Macanese to the Portuguese and the HKongers to the Brits😅
English did not educated us,they only exploit..anything they built were for their own,the english school for their children, the railway to move out the resources they took from our land..we built our own school..but i admit past malay leader were some kind of anglophile..they study in london..but the people are always malay muslim in heart..
what is obviously apparent is not so much your accent rather your intonation. you have a malay intonation struggling to transit back into proper english. it is quite hilarious.

on point with Rhys, thats how you mingle with locals, not just stay in your bubbles only
Max’s English slang sounds more Malaysian. You’re approved!😍

He has lost his England accent, he speaks English sounds more like Malaysian. (Close your eyes and listen) 😊
I was trying to place his accent. It doesn't sound like anything. Definitely doesn't sound like a Londoner.

I'm glad you interview Rhys❤🎉
WOW, His BM is better than mine. Why his English accent became Manglish?
Rhys English accent turns from Native British to Malaysian real quick.
He spoke better Malay than most Singaporean. Local Singaporean don't even know how to speak their national language. (Malay)
i thought singapore has 3 national languages
It's true go back china easy 😂

Hi Rhys. Bila nak dtg Singapore? We miss u😊Thnks Max for interviewing Rhys. One of my fav RUclipsr. ❤
I agree, you should expand your content to traditional costume, traditional weapons etc etc, besides the food
This is the first time I heard him speak English. He has become very Malaysian, he even speaks with a Malaysian accent in his English now.
I think Kelantan is underrated because of the language. Even the locals sometime find it hard to understand their language and accent there
As a Malaysian I've explored unexpected places like the kampongs and found amazing views and subtly hope they're not discovered by social media.
Awesome Rhys 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉Yoooooo we need ben fishermin bruh
Rhys, you're the real Malaysia expat!
