For me if given a choice, I will choose China and I don't speak or read mandarin.
I canceled my Oct 2024 trip to EU countries and traveled to China instead even though I have already visited China (different province) in April 2024. That said I'll be traveling to China again in February 2025 again to different province, all 3 visits were/are for leisure purposes. That shows how comfortable I am in China.

What he says is genuinely very valuable, and looking at his LinkedIn he definitely has the experience to back up what he says. One thing stuck out to me. He says that Chinese businesses rely more on relationship management as opposed to just having a contract. I feel like many European countries have the same mindset. Even in the Netherlands, a notoriously down to earth just do business kind of nation, when something goes wrong many still like to have a lunch or something in a more informal setting to discuss things and come to a solution. Basically the entire EU government structure works like this (lunch places in Brussels make crazy money ;) ). Air quality is fine in China, the government has tackled the air and water pollution issues quite successfully with EV, renewable energy power plant, upgraded industrial equipment with much lower emissions rate and wastewater treatment technology. China is not Indian. It has changed from polluted country to a leading power of renewable technology.

I'm not saying China doesn't have pollution issues, because I suffered from it myself for decades, but things have drastically improved in the last ten years. If you're an environmentalist who's really sensitive about air quality, don't go to heavily industrialized cities. Look at financial hubs, agricultural areas, or cities with good pollution control instead. Also, having spent the last five years traveling around Europe, I was surprised the air wasn't as great as I expected, and the weather wasn't always pleasant either. Maybe I'm just like someone who traveled in China like you, and I’m basing my judgement of Europe on a few days.

Many Singaporeans lack a clear understanding of China due to their reliance on Anglo-Saxon media and a local media landscape that is often anti-Chinese. Your trip to China is commendable and very timely for you, as it has certainly given you a fresh and highly significant perspective of a country that is far larger with greater opportunities. If Singapore continues to align with the US and the West despite China's status as the leading power, it risks further repercussions and will suffer, as it has already experienced. Nevertheless, younger people in Singapore are increasingly turning to social media, particularly TikTok, which is influencing their perceptions of China. Many have also visited the country recently. 😄😃😀

I really enjoy watching your videos, thank you. Also, I've noticed that since the last few episodes, based on audience feedback, you've transitioned from walking interviews to seated discussions, which definitely provides a great environment for communication. However, I still hope you could incorporate some non-static environments. On one hand, this can avoid visual fatigue, and on the other hand, it can provide more variety in what's shown. Or maybe just incorporate doing something small, like showing the interviewee's favorite local daily activities, or showing them buying local food, or their favorite local activities, etc.
