Your dad looked like he's a seasoned traveller. His frank opinion about Malaysia really does carry some weight, and his views are pretty spot on, too. Especially in the area where many foreign tourists out there would visualise Malaysia to be some kinda typical South East Asian country with roadside markets everywhere, and noisy environment in the city. In Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, it's unbelievably quiet for an Asian country's capital! 😅😂
Good to see both Dad and son together in Malaysia. Obviously, you've been the important factor that made he likes spending time around here, above all. Your happiness is his. I can see that.❤
Speaking about the food war between MY and SG , as a malaysian who has relatives in SG i would give them the win for their chicken rice, then their murtabak (but not in comparison with ours, as its different), their sup tulang merah and mee siam berkuah (both of these are rarely found here in malaysia)
Amazing! Thank you Jack and dad for telling the truth about Malaysia.. You forgot to mention the architect and architect firm of the MERDEKA 118 are Aussies from Australia.. We Malaysians welcome you, your family and friends to visit and stay with us anytime, season's greetings and happy holidays.. 🇲🇾🌺🥰
Thanks for the video. I’ve only been here 7 months but I’m very similar to you in that I work at TRX and live in KLCC. For me the weather has been a learn as I came from London where it’s generally much colder. I’ve had a great medical experience in terms of checks ups and fast treatment but I did go Prince Court which was a little pricier than I’d been led to believe but was able to claim on my company plan so it was a non issue. Safety wise I’ve never felt at all unsafe even on my own. Downsides for me have been the cars and how pedestrians are the bottom of the food chain. Cars generally don’t stop and they even park on the footpaths and run red lights plus the footpaths are often in poor condition broken up etc which is very different from the UK where pedestrians are treated much better. I’ve also had to adapt to the pace of life. It’s much slower here and that has been hard if stuck behind slow walkers, or on escalators when there is a tendency to just stop and block the way instead of moving over. Same with the MRT, everyone pushes on and there’s no order to daily life. Again very different to the UK for me.
It's not wise to compare KL with London or any other developed cities.. KL is still developing, (Malaysia is indeed a developing country), gradually it will become an ideal city for everyone 😊
There are pockets of neighbourhood for US,UK expats with schools and shops catering for them in KL suburbs. I've worked with them and they have nice community going on celebrating holidays like they did back home. Most are non permanent expats though.
The Islands in Malaysia east coast are amazing and they're more suited to western tourist than in Langkawi. Tioman, Pangkor and Kapas are very much recommended plus they're not too far away.
Very interesting interview. Your dad must visit Sabah & Sarawak. He's adventurous, Jack. Haha perhaps after visiting the Borneo states he'd retire there. Trust me.
You mentioned that you work in this video. Man, how did you do it? 9-5 during the day, Content creator at night. I really thought you’re only doing content. How’d you do it, man?
you havent been to redang. lang tengah, perhentian or tioman yet? oh my.. you miss out big time. the beach on those island are superior compare to langkawi

I hate when foreigners talks about safety as their concern. Don’t you think that your country is far more dangerous as compared to here?
For asian, western countries are definately more dangerous. We never got harrassed by drunkard in asia.
It is a massive compliment
