For those who ask, this vid come from an early 90's french TV show called "Le plein de Super" (meaning "a full load of premium gasoline") live from the festival "Les Transmusicales de Rennes" (in french Brittany).
The most original band of the 90's along with Primus. Maybe that's why Les has Mark's name on his mic stand. You're a badass bass player if a guy like Les reveres you.

The thing about this band that is so great is being only a 3 piece band, every component is integral to the sound, the innovative 2 string slide from Sandman, the epic Sax rifts from Colley, and the dirty ass beats from Deupree, you take away one, and it's just not the same. I'm not discrediting Conway, he is a great drummer too!
I'm a little sad when a great artist dies in their 70s or 80s...but hell, they had a good run, made their contribution, passed on. Mark Sandman left WAY too early dammit!! I actually cried, it was such a loss. Such a great guy and in the full flower of his creativity-because he was more than just "good at music" he was a unique genius who gave us things that we would never otherwise have had. And now never will. His passing is STILL a loss, every day, like the loss of a family member.

I consider myself a lucky man having seen them live twice...A rare and uniquely talented band with a sound that was classy and smooth...
Like a dream.

They sound so good live. It's almost impossible to differentiate this from the studio version. RIP Mark Sandman.

Just found this video. I used to go see these guys in NYC when I lived there. They were my favorite. What a unique sound they had, nothing like them.
