"I was kind of a dreamy child-a Curious George baby. As a child, people told me they thought I'd grow up to be a poet. You have to wonder what kind of kid someone would say that to." -Mark Sandman
Morphine is the only thing that makes me want to be older than I am. I have a feeling I would've been a much better person for seeing them play live...
One of my favorite bands. They had a huge influence in my musical taste. As soon as I heard the fretless bass and baritone sax and Sandman's voice I was hooked. So far I've been able to survive my Morphine fix by listening to A.K.A.C.O.D. and Twinemen. I know it's not the same but Dana Colley has a very distinct style that you can hear in both bands. :)
Daniel
I was at this show - I remember a lot of Boston based bands playing there and had to do with a shooting that happened at a Planned Parenthood in Mass. It was a good sized crowd but wasn't sold out I remember having a hard time trying to find the theater. Was shocked this exists because I don't remember cameras being there.
Obrigado!
Maan they're so good, such a new and refreshing sound never heard before or after! You gotta have some balls to craft a line up like this and Mark totally nailed it..
Who was Mark's personal favorite musician? By a mile Prince. His favorite song Lady Cab Driver. Lol Mark used to drive a cab until was robbed at gunpoint. I knew Mark better than all these biographers lol
16:12 "If I'm guilty, So are you *points to crowd*" I wonder what was meant by that. "Running around forever on an empty tank of gas and an empty pocket book; I'd better get it to the bank" One cannot have joy by going against it. I also don't get the "Empty tank of gas" Line unless it was meant as I explain it; A gas tank is a gas tank, Regardless if fuel's in it or not. If the fuel is a type which doesn't work but is "Empty" I can understand that, Though.
Drums, a bass guitar, a sax and a voice .You don't need anything else.
