The reason this is everyone's turning point for ARR is because Garuda shows up like a savage on a completely different level than every other primal in ARR in an actual story event and the first part of her theme after all that build up is "NOW fall." Hearing that for the first time is like being slapped in the face because you've put like 50+ hours into the game at that point if you weren't rushing and Garuda has the audacity to believe that she is going to be the thing that finally kills you. Made me want to kill her more than anything else in the game at that point lmao
She would have killed you too if the Empire didn't show up with the UW, just sayin'

I only actually got into 14 because of this song when I was playing Theatrhythm and now I have multiple battle and crafter classes at 90. Man have the good times flown by
I had the same but backwards! I did play the OG Theatrhythm back in high school though. But wasn't sold on Curtain Call until I heard it had FFXIV tunes in it. Bought it immediately. And thanks to 14 I've been exposed to more FF music that I also play in Curtain Call lol
Similar thing happened to me, i got into ff14 after hearing titania's battle theme on a livestream

This theme has *some* lyrics, but they're somewhat hard to hear unless you pay close attention to it:

Just finished the fight and damn, such a cool expirience and the music is top notch
Wanting to hear this song in-game was what got me through a lot of ARR's story. Shiva did that for most of Heavensward, then Brute Justice for the interlude, then various others I can't remember, then A Long Fall. This soundtrack is basically the main reason I've been paying for this game for ages.

I fell in love with this game the first time I saw this cutscene.
This is my first AND third most played music for battle mode in Theatrhythm Curtain Call... It's been years since I obsessed over that game, and finally heard it in-game in FFXIV a few days ago! Now it's stuck in my head since haha. Very, very good.

Garuda and Shiva's themes are just *chefs kiss* I always ride the mounts i got from their extreme trials cause they're just bops and i cant fly now that im in Heavensward T_T
"Oblivion" is about as perfect a theme as Shiva could have gotten for her EX trial. It's been living rent-free in my head ever since I first heard it, and I don't mind that a bit.
10/10 . Her expression at the beginning scared me quite good.....
Doing this on EX for the first time was hell. Neither tank knew what to do, no DPS knew to dodge the wavebeam AoE, and the healers weren't being listened to. One of the healers ragequit after our 3rd wipe and we spent 10 mins waiting for another, only to abandon the duty.

The first time I fought Garuda, her smile creeped me out a bit.

I started like 3 weeks ago. At the beginning i was kinda slogging and taking my time. But man, this fight is what hooked me for good. Such an incredible set up, music and introduction to a boss.

actually stoneskin 2 was a thing that was a longer cast but put stoneskin on everyone around you. I think the whm in this video just decided to hardcast stoneskin 1 a lot whilst waiting.
i honestly miss stoneskin.... but thats just me.

Garuda is like the Lucifer of the Final Fantasy world. Think about it, she's extraordinarily beautiful compared to most of the Primals, and yet she's the wickedest of them all. Also, take a good look at the design of her head at 0:52, look familiar? Garuda is also one of the three strongest because she controls the wind. The wind can shift the tides, erode the mountains, give life to fire, and change the course of storms and snow. The other two strongest are Odin and Bahamut (don't know if they will release Eden in this game).

Recently got into a discussion over who would be the better relationship partner, Garuda or Shiva.. don't ask how, because I don't know. I vote Garuda, he voted Shiva. The only foreseeable problem I could see with Garuda is that she's insane, so, there's that, but, other than that, still the better choice.
