Frank is the truest Dragoon I have ever seen. He spent the entire fight dead and that's impressive in its own way.
2:04, never forget.
As an aspiring Dragoon main, I can only hope to someday be half the legend Frank is.
you think that's impressive? try entering Susano normal and dying 7-9 times through the whole fight

Some days, you’re a god.
Other days, you’re Frank the DRG
Garuda: relatively unchanged
Ifrit: "YOU GONNA CATCH THESE HANDS"
To be fair, he actually looks closer to the general series depiction of him and less... Lizard like? Dragon like? Then in the source. If you notice, save Levi, all our memories of the primals have a more humanoid shape. Well, also save ramuh. Anybody who did Ixion's fate when it was current likely has PTSD and that affected our memories. : P
@@RikkuTakanashi Late, but the thing with Eden Ramuh's appearance is that Ramuh is essentially the Sylphs' interpretation of Rhalgr. The WoL probably knows that, so they're subconsciously applying Rhalgr's imagery (physically imposing wargod, ixion as a steed) onto their memory of Ramuh.
@@justinlee790 First time reading that and I've done all side quests except for EW which is still a work in progress so I kinda need a source for that about the pixies

Funny enough, Raktspaksha is just another name for Garuda in Indian mythology. It literally translates to "Blood wing"
@@shaderunner8220 I didn't know this. Neat
What FF games Raktapaksa in??
@@kaleajadesilver8918 only in 14
For anyone curious(and after a quick Google search), Raktapaksa is Sanskrit for "Red Wings". So, an accurate description of the fusion.
And maybe a stealth reference to FFIV's Red Wings?
It is also another name for Garuda from Indian myth.
@@TheNoybusiness Year old comment, but considering all the FFIV references in the Endwalker trailer it looks like you were on the money

Yoshie: Brute justice?
Soken: BRUTE JUSTICE.
Garuda's theme carries this remix super hard.
Ifrit’s part adds to the flavor immensely as well, despite its not-so-powerful melody.
Ifrit's theme is what is giving it extra tension and threatening aura which fits the fight. If this was just a Garuda remix on its own it'd be way less cool. And Ifrit's theme can sound very cool, go listen to The Primals arrange on their first album.
Poor Frank, how many times did he revive just to die again immediately..

The more I listen to it the more I like it. Pretty badass theme
Ifrit out here like: "GOOOOAAAAL"
I kinda like this theme over the originals, it's more subdued and shows that their is mystery as well as danger to these primals while yes a boss theme should hype you it's also meant to show fear which holds true as to these guys are from our memories of fighting them showing they really left a mental scar. Also since they fused it showes that mystery of we don't know what would happen if the beast tribes actually worked together to kill us.
Because fighting only one of them at the time was just too easy...
It was! At least on normal and hard mode

Yugioh GX called they want their flame wingman design back
Dammit I was about to make that joke.
Dont you mean Supreme King called and wanted his Inferno Wing back?
Like how the Warrior of Darkness just made Ifrit and Garuda use Potara Fusion on each other.
_Primal Judgement_ is a bit underrepresented in this version compared to _Fallen Angel_ which is we get more of. I'm not complaing though :D
because Primal Judgement sounded a bit too generic compared to say Under the Weight and Fallen Angel
Primal Judgement doesn't really have strong recognisable melodic lines/patterns compared to Fallen Angel, it's more "just" ambient (I don't know any music lingo, this is literally just what I feel about the themes, don't @ me), so I'm not too surprised it is kinda overshadowed by Fallen Angel. They still did merge together pretty neatly though, the fight in itself was crazy cool and this theme was very fit for it !
IF you listen carefully, you can hear Primal Judgement constantly--it's the bassline and underlying harmony.
primal judgment sucked anyway. sadly, i'm pretty sure Ifrit wouldve been given a proper theme, but instead they recycled the primal theme from 1.0
I'm pretty sure this song is called Primal Angel
the scions wondering where the hell the warrior of light has been lately huh

Ifrit's theme was never really impressive on its own, but it pairs up nicely with Garuda's
@a HERO that doesn’t know what protect means Yup it is mostly Garuda's theme
@a HERO that doesn’t know what protect means It goes back and forth. Listen to ifrit's theme and then come back here. Ifrit's theme doesn't have a lot of parts to it, so it just repeats the same part of ifrit's theme between the different parts of gradua's theme.
i really appreciate the garuda/ifrit themes being made into a trap remix

There's almost an urban feel to this music, especially in the opening part. Reminded me of Cody's Turn the Beat Back from Street Fighter 4.
Yeah, I'm getting a lot from trap music. It's like someone tries to make a pop-rap beat with a pipe organ(which isn't a bad thing)
@@obikim11 genre called jungle my friends

Remember yall take it on the cheek and don't move otherwise you'll be sent flying
Man this raid cannot get anymore worse right?
*start combining*
Why did I not see this one coming
Finally some justice for Ifrit in XIV! His design always felt sub par compared to the other primals.
Eh this form is more generic. His other one at least felt original. All we need is more super tall enemies
@@Shinstrikex I'd actually argue that his original form was more generic, seeing as it had plenty of trace elements of the Taurus group of mobs. Titan actually shares this trait with him by having a lot of similarities to Gigas mobs, just without any weapons.
@@AshramIndustries This. EVERY previous design, save for the horned dog one, was ZZzzz.... And even the horned dog versions (ex: FFX) weren't incredibly interesting. Eden Ifrit is hands down the best design, its not even fair to compare it to any of the other ones.
@@risingdawn6393 Eden Ifrit has trace amounts of Diabolos, but they're faint and subtle. I do detect some Toriyama and/or Takahashi (Kazuki Takahashi, AKA creator of Yu-gi-oh) inspirations here - namely in how Ifrit looks kinda like Janemba in some areas, and more of a slimmer Fiend-type Yu-gi-oh monster (though I can't exactly pinpoint which one) in others.

The only theme I was a little disappointed in, Garuda's theme greatly overpowers Ifrit's here but I guess that's to be expected when Garuda's is more distinct. Ifrit's is a bit vague
Flame wingman couldn't compete with Neos, so he competed with the WoL
And lost even harder than he did to neos even with skyscraper active
I gotta say, i feel sorry for the warrior with all this memory stuff going on in eden....
Not gonna lie, my mind went straight to Digimon during THAT part of the fight. It went something like this:
“EdenIfritmon! EdenGarudamon! DNA DIGIVOLVE TO...! RAKTAPAKSAMON!”
That DRG is definitely doing his job right!
Dat animation lock, tho
This theme is called: *Primal Angel*
My god, they are getting better! Cant wait for Shivas Theme Remix
I Frank’d pretty hard on my first run of this.. only to near-flawless Shiva blind. Which is good considering I grinded that fight for the Orchestrion!
It’s been about over half a year or more since I did Eden, I really ought to come back and learn this fight, it looks fun.
Edit: Just got it on Roul as DRK! and I did it flawlessly! Who knew that you’d get better at recognizing tells and judgement the more you played a game! Surely not me after, 2972 hours, a Full Mentor Crown, and half my classes at 90 and none under 80.
If I had a nickel for every time ifrit fused with another summon, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
*prepare for trouble and make it double*
"Ifrit and Garuda? I though you said Messi and Garuda."
Daaaammmn...
This beat is so Fresh.
Sssssssssssnap!
I am ok with garuda being almost unchanged since she is already perfect and best girl.
She should have been her own fight though :(
Edit: I am a little bit confused why exactly she is fusing with Ifrit though, i know Final fantasy doesn't give a fuck about actual mythology but Shiva rode on Garudas back in indian mythology so why not fuse them? aside from E8 that is.
Maybe yoshi is just really nostalgic for yugioh GX and wanted Flame wingman in the game. Cant blame him.
Ehhhh, the lore reason is that they needed Wind/Fire Aether at the same time so the fusion probs just kinda... _happened_
I think it's as simple as wind spreading and strengthening a fire, there for making them stronger together.
Sensory overload: The Fight
*Get your game on intensifies*
Poor Frank just couldn't catch a break.
When you want to fuse into Ultima Weapon but Titan had other places to be for the day.
I went into this fight totally fucking blind along with my wife. When I saw it was the two of them I told her to brace herself case something stupidly insane is go8ng to happen towards the end. Sure enough when they fused together we were both confused as fuck, I said "called it!" And she had to be the rez mage for me specifically cause I kept pulling off my heavy hitter combos at he cost of dieing alot.
HOW MANY TIMES DID THEY REDESIGN IFRIT!? (Even though I love his design in this fight
Like in the entire final fantasy series a lot. Sometimes he looks like a dog like beast other time he looks like a walking sumo guy other times a oni
Cant beleive you murdered Frank like that
They both look like the portrayal of the devil, Garuda looks like Lucifer and Ifrit looks like Satan.
Ifrit watched Shaolin Soccer after Refrain. Because he was pissed.
So.. imagine having a Red Green Weakness ....
