  • Installation of the motorcycle mount & powercable, on the accesories connector ACC2 of my KTM 1290 Super Adventure S (KTM 1290 Super Adventure S 2021, KTM 1290 Super Adventure S 2022, KTM 1290 Super Adventure S 2023, KTM 1290 Super Adventure S 2024). To let the GPS / SATNAV (Garmin Zumo XT in my case) switch on/off together with the bike. (is the same for connecting/installing anything else on the ACC connector for example a TomTom Rider)
    The video shows how to disambly the fairings of the KTM 1290 SAS to get to the front accesories connectors ACC2 en ACC1, how I installed my gps powercable and how I installed the fairings

    To remove the fuel tank fairing, you don't have to remove the bolts of the fuel cap. I removed it because of the GIVI tanklock

    ☀Thank you very much for this video. It was a pleasure help for installing my zumo.

    Very professional presentation, free of useless likes and dislikes. I just used this to install a Garmin on my new Adventure, when it was very helpful. I put my laptop in view in the garage and just followed each step, pausing the video as I went along. It sure beats trying to find that one little hidden screw on a fragile plastic panel
    On my bike the headlight surround was way too close to that screw underneath it. It's easy to remove the surround; unsnap that little windscreen, take out one screw at the top of the surround, and then pull it up, when it comes right off.

    I then spotted two sets of acc connectors under the rear seat; one of which is acc2 witched and much easier to get to than front Acc2. Connected my Zumo to the rear acc2 connector under rear seat and all works. Hope this helps those a bit wary of taking their KTM to bits ;-)

    There are two more cc1 and cc2 under the passenger seat which are very accessable and easy to get 2 wire from front to back

    Super ! Does anyone know if the procedure is the same for the 2017-2020 1290s?

    Really thank for sharing I have one question and that is about the Handlebar Mount Compatible with Garmin Zumo, is it the 12mm?

    • @FlamesAdventureS
      @FlamesAdventureS  Год назад +1

      Yes, 12mm. The Touratech gps mounting adaptor has a 12mm tube above the display. The 12mm zumo mount clamps around.

    What are the little connectors you fit to the wires to plug into the ACC2? My satnav just has small bare wires and no connectors provided.

    • @FlamesAdventureS
      @FlamesAdventureS  Год назад

      I used flat plugs , they doesn't come with the Garmin, but you can buy it in for example an elektronic store

    Hello, I am currently in the process of installing the Garmin Zumo XT and the headlight cover. Can you help me mount the upper handle of this cover, I don't know how to get to the two upper screws 🤔

    • @FlamesAdventureS
      @FlamesAdventureS  4 месяца назад +1

      Hello, you have to remove the windscreen. Then pull out the plastic triangle shaped piece above the headlight, then you should have acces to install the upper screws. Good luck and let me know how it went 🙂👍

    My Superduke has a usb port under the main screen ... Why would ktm not have this on the more touring version of their bike...

    • @Biceptic1290RR
      @Biceptic1290RR 7 месяцев назад

      They have a 12v plug (straight below the big screen) which you can buy a sigaret to 2x usb convertor 😅 it would saved him so much time and literally no bolt to unscrew. I run my dashcam AND my Quadlock phone charger without any problems.

  • @cheemamuk

    Forgive me, but why didn’t KTM just place the ACC connector in an accessible place, under a flap if necessary? It’s obviously a place that an owner would need to get to if fitting any aftermarket parts.😮

      @@FlamesAdventureSjust use the “sigaret” plug there are plugs with 2/3 usb ports it would have saved you so much time and unnecessary dismantling the bike.

    • @FlamesAdventureS
      @FlamesAdventureS  7 месяцев назад +3

      Yes that certainly could have saved me a lot of work 🙂. But I think it's not that good when riding in the rain and now the gps always has his power without using extra cables. I didn't mind to disassemble the parts, it was some kind of winter project 😂@@Biceptic1290RR

    Why do ktm have to make it hard to get to these connectors ? they should be easily accessible , bloody designers !

      Yeah that's right 🙂. There are also connectors under the passenger seat, those are easy accessible
