After installing mine, just to add some info: On the stock KTM exhaust at the bottom/ beginning of the slip on (where the clamp holds the exhaust) there is a silver looking (kind of rubber) ring. That I needed (according to KTM dealer) put on the SC-project slip-on in order to properly seal at the clamp part ... (I hope I kind off explained this OK, not sure what English words to use :P). For anyone installing the exhaust hopefully helpful.
Hmm. It seems I am completely missing the point. Not sure what improvement there is supposed to be from this mod, what actually has been modified and how it sounded before and after the mod. A drawing might help and also a before and after comparison of the sound would have helped (a proper one with unmodified SC Projects sound in between. It is nice though to see how not to do it in terms of the work steps. I am probably going with the Arrows exhaust now. Cheers.
Nice to see another possibility for adjusting an exhaust system! Do you have some experiance with the German Cobra exhaust? Single and small pipe. It's also in KTM colour setting, black and orange.
What a way to make your life more difficult... I recommend that you have patience and if you can, buy an arrow sonora ...black or metallic...with the removable db killer......the sound it emits makes you shit with joy... the sound is epic😉
@@mostlymotorcycles. hi there!! So I just got the same one and I’ve already took the rivets on the inside, however I can’t get them out, am I missing something?
Problem is if u like a particular slip on and it's from Europe there not going to be easily removable. And if u go full racing there insanely load to around d town.
What a butcher job. You slid that muffler around the bench so many times it probably has scratches all over. If you removed the two tube what's going to stop the packing inside the muffler from dislodging and blowing out. I think the Aproprovic an easier mod. Sorry.

Loved the video, i went for the Arrow but this one looks amazing!
Very good job!
Thanks for this video man! Helped me a lot, I got the same exhaust for my soon to come KTM1290SAS. Video also online soon.

Nice video ! I went with the Pipewerx (UK) Titanium with CF end cap and removable baffle/db killer, about AU$850 delivered and couldn't be happier.
Scusa la domanda, che diametro ha il tubo che contiene il catalizzatore?
Grazie 🤙

Haven't heard of that one. But someone will have done a vid on them.
Top Sound 👍
Great, thank you. Is your impression that you have to do something with the fueling/airmix with this setup?
As long as the catalytic convert is lef in it will be ok.
Nice video tksss...what is the correct rivet sizing?
Don't do what I did. The baffle comes out the back. No need to drill and replace the rivets.
Last part of the vid explains this.

No need to remove the cap.

Lol nice
The baffles on the Arrow Sonora are now tack welded in place. You will need a dremel to remove them.
Perfetto!💥👍🏻
Sounds great 😎🍻
So, to clarify - to remove the baffle you only need to remove the two rivets on the inside and you don’t need to remove the end cap?
No need to remove the end cap. Lol
😂 Thanks for your sacrifice, brother!

Or you just buy a muffler that has a DB killer as a removable option via a couple torx like a wings…..🤷🏻♂️

Dominator has 3 db options. I went for the medium one. One set screw and it pulls out. Same with Leo Vince.
You save me, thanks!
Hey man! Have you removed the CAT on your muffler? Or you still have that in?
Still in. Going to chat with my KTM dealer
On the next service to see what they say.
On the site they say -44% saving, so 2.8Kg is about right.
Hi, what is the size of the rivet to use?
Nooo. You don't have to drill the rivets out from the carbon end cap. The dB killers slide out the pipe end.
maybe weigh it after you have removed the db killers ?
Good point. Maybe less another 500grams.
So much better than original shame I went for the Akroprovic , just need my baffles out easier job than yours though cheers Chris
I can’t imagine doing that to a 2k slip on. I would be freaking out 😅
hello, who could sell me those killers, I modified mine but I'd rather go back to the flood
Sorry, I cut them up for another project.
You they make a Race version so u dont half to do all this lol
Ah, that was the only version available in Australia at the time.
😂

There's still tubes in the gas path to stop the packing blowing out.
I thought I was being very gentle with it, lol.
