Supreme darkness was a great set for giving legacy support to retro archetypes. Nothing immediately meta warping, which is IMO OK, it'll give us an off season between SUDA's release and whatever the next core set is where we can just solve the format and metagame around the top decks. Solid 7 out of 10 for me
I think 7/10 is fair. They continue to release awesome legacy support - can’t wait to see fluffals soon! I hope ArgoStars gets another Monster but it’s probably just gonna be a Spell and Trap in Alliance Insight.
I have been testing a lot of Materiactor since the cards were revealed and I have been roundly impressed by how solid the deck is "pure." It ends up being a handtrap shell which actually has pressure and archetypal interaction + recursion. Gameplan is to use your 1-cards and extension to slap a counter omni on board, then dig for as many handtraps and silver bullets as possible. The continuous spell is REALLY good for how innocuous it sounds, since the excavate lets you stack the cards you don't add you can just put a silver bullet/floodgate on top of deck, make xyz armor torpedo and draw it immediately (then attach the handtraps you also stacked to exagard to add to hand on opponents turn!). You can, also, make fiendsmith plays with the more than extra material you field. For more omnis.
Solid 7/10, I do really like how they are pushing legacy support but I wish the tcg would double down on it when it isn't quite where it needs to be, why not make 2-3 new gladiator beast for the tcg release if it doesn't make enough splash in the ocg for example. Either that just print a bunch of 1 offs for different archetypes it's always going to have more appeal even if the archetype is bad and needs more than 1 card, it's still better than pack filler. They did it for duel overload if I remember correctly but then dropped it for some reason.
I don’t see lots of value for this set on secondary market. I’m guessing the new Mulcharmy, Azamina White Forest, and Link-4 will be the money cards. Price wise I predict Mulcharmy will be between 60-80, White Forest between 30-50, and Link-4 between 20-40. I’m leaning on the lower end of these predictions as well.
@@NikoAmii 6/10 is pretty mid. Glad it dodged the doody tier of core sets tho. & who knows if the new tcg exclusive is nice maybe it can go up even more🤷🏼♂️
Honestly, i really wonder if Azamina Elzette is going to make punk more relevant, specially in conjunction with the soon to be revealed new punk support
What's the synergy, apart from her effect to search a Sinful Spoils card on synchro summon? Punks don't really summon Level 6 Synchros, so it''s kinda hard to search her with Rciela? I'm legit interested, since I love the Punk engine and also really like Azamina Ezette, but I don't quite see the synergy, apart from just hard drawing her and getting a free Sinful Spoils card every now and then.
@@tobiasfrey2793 punk's synchro 8 can search psychic tracker and you use deer note to revive a tuner, you make rciela sending the field spell summon elzette and make any 8 you want (you can make diabell to add back emergency teleport to summon ghost ogre on opp's turn or keep it as follow up), if you hard draw her you can use her as extender if you slot a synchro 5 in you extra, and that's full azamina combo. Unfortunately (or fortunately) baronne is banned so you can't go into her if you play diabellstar
I feel like no matter how much you think the set as a whole will shift the needle of the metagame, it also doesn’t feel like there’s much outright chaff here? Like yeh if Crystron doesn’t become competitive, then opening a Crystron secret rare won’t feel good, but said support is legitimately very good for what it is regardless of if it’s “enough”. Kinda reminds me of Majespecter or RR in PHNI in that sense. Even something like ARG*S, regardless of what one feels about it, is still a new theme with a fresh concept and potential to be capitalised on. Honestly the more I think about it, the more the vibes of PHNI present themselves here. And that set is looked at as being better and better in hindsight (as I thought it might), so.
Crystron has already made it into the C tier alongside White Forest Azamina so Tristalos secret rare will be happening (unless it falls off a cliff after the first week). Neither a good nor a bad meta for crystron in the OCG, beats Scythe and Dbarrier, decent into fuwaloss but struggles against Lancea and Maxx-C.
This set will probably sell pretty poorly seems even worse than duelist nexus... I feel that a bao is going to be expensive because nobody wants to open this pack... Like 4/10

Great Knight of the red lotus looks like it could be overlooked in this set especially for primite/warrior/fire type decks
I would recommend including a tier of support which brings decks to a tier 1.5/1.0/0 status.
I wasn't interested in this set at all initially but now I'm more excited for it than i was for rota (mostly for the materiactors)

Azamina Elzette and A-Bao A Qu are by far the best cards in the set.
I agree and adding St. Azamina as a win condition for the archetype makes it even better as I feel like a lot of people overlook it in the set

The azamina/white forest 2 star is def a chase card.
Getting 3 of them thangs
@@erk8520 facts indeed!!!
the new ween card is quite fun in skull servant deck, you either burn for 8k damage or get around 13k attack

Mulcharmy must be 30-40, is worse than purulia
A solid 7/10, but 8.5/10 for me as a white forest and speedroid player.
No gimmick cards in this set automatically puts it at least a 7 for me
Swordsoul is back baby!!!!
Yeah… this set is mid imo, but some definite relevant cards sprinkled in

When can we expect the Alliance Insight cover card reveal?

It is always 2.5 months before release date. So early November.

It is to me. The cards did absolutely nothing together prior. Archetype by name technically, not by functionality.
