no, its better because it can reset itself on the same turn, titanocider has to wait until your opponent's next turn so you can only use it again on turn 5
I played in an extremely competitive progression series server a while back, and I remember when deck building scraps on release, I saw supply squad had 1/2 YCS tops.
4:30 I once faced a traptrick guy with some tier 8 pendulum magician decklist. I activated Supply squad turn 1 and he could only watch in terror as it single handedly won the grind game. The fun aspect about supply squad is that it also triggers if you destroy one of your own pendulum zones.
It’s weird seeing cards on here that I’m like “wait I’ve seen this on master duel and people think it’s good there” but the MD banlist is wildly different
Performapal five rainbow magician will forever be funny to me. Because it’s just mystic mine at home, and the only decks that would play it also have 12 spell trap removal. Since it’s mine effect is only active if the player doesn’t have a set spell/trap while in pend zone. While it’s monster effect is just to put it back into the pend zone.
Iron dragon Tiamat on is really good. I played him in a true Draco list. You can set cards with the Dracos and then summon Tiamaton to pop 2 cards out of nowhere and also trigger your own Draco S/T card.
Here’s an idea for one of these videos: Cards you would go out of your way to activate if given the chance despite it being suboptimal. In my case it was the Uber big bosses like Red Nova dragon and Neo Galaxy Eyes Photon Dragon.
That thread and stream are proof that it's pointless to take the TCG seriously, they can't figure out WHAT an underused card is, let alone figure out WHY.
MBT. You should make a bloopers video regarding your different videos where you just lost your mind with people who went completely off the rails regarding dofferent threads you've posted. I think it would make for an amazing video to give everyone joy in watching your sanity slowly deteriorate. 😊
Oof. Coming from the future it turns out Zealantis has found some legitimate use, but it's because half the time snake eyes wincon is "combo out bodies to put 8k on board"
Finally something worse that that “unintentionally combo” thread from way back. Still can’t get over the guy who thought Konami never expected players to combo Xtra HERO Cross Crusader with…. Xtra HERO Wonder Driver.
8:05 i've actually put together a speedroid build that uses this card along with a whole assortment of other turnskip traps. you can make tengu for the mayakashi trap, cyber slash for harpie's feather storm, literally any synchro for gravity collapse, and can even combine maple maiden and gozen to lock down any non-wind deck indefinitely.
If I might be petty for a second, I said scrap raptor and got told "this card absolutely saw play, Sam won the remote duel invitational with dinosaur after it came out" and somehow nobody pointed out that his deck from that event wasnt even playing scrap raptor
Back then, when it was released, it didn't see play in the meta decks, and as a Synchron player, the deck is rogue at best. Though nowadays that's no longer the case as Snake Eyes are running him as their tuner of choice
When i first started Master Duel i crafted three Red Blossoms From the Underoot as i had a 60 card pile with D.D dynamite Inferno tempest and so on. I used her to start off plays and immediately go into Relinquished anima while contributing to the banishment. I love the card art so much and now regret de-crafting her :(
Giving people the benefit of the doubt, his prompt did say CONSISTENT competitive play. This leaves a lot up to interpretation. It's fine that he wanted to see cards that saw no play whatsoever, but he should've said that he wanted exactly that, not cards that have seen little-to-no play. To give an example on what I mean, Crossout designator was given as an answer. The card saw some experimentation, but fell off pretty quickly after release. It's amount of play can be called anything but consistent. Another example is ghost reaper & winter cherries. Apparently it's seen some play, but overall not much. He even stated that it's seen Niche play, or something similar to that wording, which directly acknowledges that it was a valid answer for what his thread was asking for: cards that haven't seen consistent play.
Titanocider is strictly worse lost wind IMO. Can’t reset the same Turn, can ONLY target a extra deck monster. The extra attack lost is just irrelevant.
@@RegiRuler oh I completely missed that, that’s a more interesting dynamic then. I still feel like Yugioh is usually over turn 3-4 anyway, so I’m not sure how useful that would be since it’s a three turn cycle each activation. Since you use it, can’t reset it to next turn, then can’t ACTIVATE it that turn and have to wait again.
It’s funny to me that Titanocider’s artwork depicts Appo, and she is presumably the Titanocider (the one committing Titanocide), and yet, the card would actually do a good job of stopping Appo herself, as without any ATK, she would have no negates, and would be able to be run over by anything. (Of course, she could just negate the card before it goes off.)
@@nnnp634 Alternatively, Appo could be the woman in the picture. For example, in Game of Thrones, there’s a position known as the Hand of the King, but it’s not a literal hand. I’m the book Graceling, the lead character is know as the Sword of King [I forgot his name], but she’s not a literal sword. She uses a sword though. It could be the woman is an extension of the goddess, and thus is her “bow”, and just happens to use a bow.
@@alexYu-gi-oh I was arguing that Appolusa is bow in the picture and not the woman (woman is Godess), but ultimately it is a stupid topic for argument in the first place, so I deleted my other comments.
I picked up Underdog for Eldlich and then Skill Drain came back to 3 and there was no real point to running Underdog. What makes the card really bad is that you have to set it turn one and only really have a benefit if you flip it turn 3
Well the one benefit Underdog has during your opponent's turn in Eldlich is them not being able to Imperm you during their turn to temporarily turn off another floodgate
The one that I will always play but I'm one of the few: Dark Sacrifice. If a card(s) would be destroyed send one dark level 3 or lower monster from deck to gy and negate the card. In Zombie World this basically says if your opponent tries to destroy a card summon Baledroch
Although I love dark sacrifice as a funny protection trap it dies insanely to ash blossom. Also how does this trap read summon Balerdroch he's not level 3 or lower?
Yeah dark sacrifice was one that was toyed around in my sphere on release as an altergeist card. Turns out it doesn't really help them get to faker faster.
In master duel I have a Drytron build that uses borrelload riot dragon and it works pretty well. Bc you can discard any card in your hand to return it from GY, so easy way to get Drytrons in grave
Havenly zephyr miradora is playable with dragon rulers/armed dragon and specificly is a negate that doesnt interrupt light and darkness dragon if that is part of your end board
I used to play 'Underdog' in my old Yosenju deck. Worked very well alongside 'Vanity's Emptiness' before it was banned, as by the time my opponent's turn came around, the majority of their cards had been bounced by my Yosenju's, and my field was empty of monsters.
I feel like if red blossom could summon itself on turn one (not having to also banish a spell from opponents graveyard) it would be an really good and flexible combo piece. Could be either an early body on board for link climbing or rank 1 plays, or in a deck that uses multiple kinds of extra deck monsters it could work as a recursion tool. As is, I used it in bird up just for fun because I really like the card, it was a level one, and I could use its recursion effect without relying on my opponent. it was never really a stand out, but it’s fun.
Arguably Lost Wind is just better too, no OPT and titanocider isn't outpacing it until turn 6! and even then under extreme circumstances(they summon from extra on your turn 3&5).
It's a pretty niche card on it's own, and a Trap card so it's obviously got that working against it, but Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell can go absolutely insane in some matchups. You go -1 but you can completely lock your opponent out of the game if you can hit the right card uncontested, or while you have the means to negate their pushbacks. I played it a lot in the Metalfoes meta in my Shaddoll deck, where I didn't mind throwing away some of my Shaddoll Fusions if it meant I locked them out of their Metalfoes Fusion. Similar situation vs Qlis, just lock Scout and basically win from there. Even to this day you can pull it off vs Branded and really fuck them up. Then obviously it does great in any fusion based mirror match. Since it's a lingering effect they have to be able to deal with it RIGHT NOW or else essentially lose the game. Another kinda crazy one is Crackdown. I remember when it got revealed and a bunch of people lost their minds. Even AznEyesWhiteDragon had a segment of a video where he sperged out about it lol but context matters of course - it came out in a time where Brain Control, Snatch Steal, and Change of Heart were all banned, and Enemy Controller and Mind Control were not seeing a ton of play. Being able to steal a monster with 0 drawback, other than being a Trap card, was nuts. Mind Control was better because it's a Spell but also because it didn't negate the monster's effects, but Crackdown just straight up stole a card for as long as you could defend it, or you could overlay with it or whatever else since there was no restriction on it. If you hit one of their valuable combo pieces or anything that you knew they'd only have 1 of, it was pretty good. You could also combo it with Book of Moon to get the monster indefinitely but it was a niche combo. Now Change of Heart is off the list so it's strictly better, if only for a single turn, since you can use the effect and then just overlay or link it off lol but still, for its time Crackdown had pretty good potential. Non-Aggression Area is a card that is just waiting to explode when there's finally a deck that can make ample use of it consistently. Once there is, it will get banned outright. A 1-sided lingering Vanity's is insane, even with a discard cost is nuts, especially since most decks want stuff in the grave to some degree anyways. The more time goes by, the better it gets, it just needs one deck to break it and it'll be an overnight success.
Honestly a thread about cards released too late or too early is an amazing thread idea cause a card like instant fusion took years of fringe playability until Norden was released
If we talk about cards released at the wrong time, we must mention “Expendable Dai” It’s Gemini spark as a trap for warriors and was released in 2020. Gemini Spark saw play until the Hero structure in 2015. Imagine if it weren’t locked to the worst card type in the game but instead to the best one.
I never read Red Blossoms but its so close to being a crazy Tear Mirror card. If you could guarantee it in your opener going second you could get it really twisted
"i just hope that we never figure it out" i just got vanity'd from a single beatrice last week because of that mayakashi and the new trap card in my locals
It was extremely funny seeing mbt go like "WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT NEVER SAW PLAY? THIS WAS CRAZY IN THE 5TH BEST REAPER FORMAT DECK". "This was a staple with so many tops (2) for 5 minutes after this crazy set came out!“ "How could you forget about the 13th best target to send off dogmatika maximus when dogmatika was popular?“ "This card literally dominated progression playoffs for weeks on ends, are you even using your brain?" Loved the video, but really sad that none mentioned pot of greed, the card has seen close to zero play compared to how long ago it was printed
Going off the top of my head, I'd have to say Beast King Unleashed and Jelly Cannon. The first is a continuous Trap that lets you clear a column during any battle, while the latter shuffles the targeted monster back into the deck when any other monster attacks. Extremely powerful removal tools, but since they're battle tricks, didn't see any real play.
My roommate came up with a good card for the list: Small World. It seems great on paper, letting you search any monster with any monster, but fiddling with what cards can bridge into what is apparently too difficult for people to do, outside of auto-duel programs like Master Duel.
Am in video :puggers: Anyway man seeing these cards despite learning almost every card and suddenly finding the existence of *other* cards is utterly craaazy
Psychic Erasure Laser had a brief stint of playability in Common Charity in Beetrooper before Kumungous and Gadarla were printed in the Traptrix Structure Deck.
I guess Titanocider wouldn't really rock the boat in early YGO because the Fusion Deck was kind of useless outside of a handful of FTK or OTK strategies (and the Fusion monsters used for Magical Scientist FTKs aren't what you'd want to negate anyway) but if you read that card to some one from the Synchro era, they'd probably find it insane. You try to beat over problem monsters using Shrink or Gale? Just set its ATK to _zero_ and negate its effects on top of that. Your opponent tries to come back with another one? This card returns for free as they do. It doesn't even banish itself when it leaves the field afterwards, so it comes back every turn they take.
2:30 I made a reply about it on Twitter, but it’s very obvious why Firewall never saw play again when there was an insanely more consistent and powerful Link-4 (Accesscode). Spenster makes it seem like there’s confusion as to why FD never saw play.
Patchwork being a reply is so funny because not only was it played in despia when it was the arguable best deck Its being played again in builds of the deck *now*
My honorable mention from youtube comments: Cactus Bouncer as a easly searchable floodgate that makes opponen unable to special summon i dotn think it saw that much competetive play, its not even hard to summon it with plants getting more aviable "additional normal summons". It Still Is possible for that card to be a piece of a plants deck endboard, but until them... dont sleep on it and fear the Cactus
Non-Aggression Area is just waiting to be extremely obnoxious, but its activation needing to be in your own Standby and discard cost hold it back. Conceptually a deck that can play this at will, would utterly be a nightmare to play against but right now its just too slow.
For me, it’s Ghost Reaper & Winter Cherry. I don’t understand why it isn’t a side option in formats where a certain decks dominate. It’s so good in the mirror. Also, I don’t understand why Trap decks, that don’t use their extra deck, don’t run it in the side. All you have to do is add in key pieces from the top ten or so decks and you’ve really hurt a lot of decks. At the very least, it allows you extra deck knowledge for the simple cost of revealing one extra deck monster and a discard.
Winter cherries did see play in floow matchups back in tear 0, the problem is it can really only be used in decks that don’t care about their extra deck. The biggest problem is that you can’t use winter cherries against every match up because your extra deck doesn’t have infinite space. So winter cherries being in the meta is generally a sign of a dominating deck format.
You can play Borreload riot dragon in a 60-card Drytron deck on Master Duel because you can burn one of anything you own to get a ritual back to your hand And it's only a rare
Supply Squad saw play in the earliest Burning Abyss builds and was pretty intense. When the card got confirmed for Speed Duels I assumed it would make Ratbox insaaane but it never saw play in that format besides the current Roids deck.
Some Ignister builds turbo out Firewall Dragon, Firewall Darkfluid, and Firewall Singularity but aside from that, yeah, can't think of anything else. Also, for Assault Synchron, I'm testing runnig Blackfeather Darkrage Dragon. Chaos Ruler at home (but sadly you don't get the add).
@@Groxworld1 Yes. Or you fail to open full combo, summon a bird, set the trap, flip it in draw phase and get a mulligan. It's a lingering effect that stops all monster activations (field, hand, graveyard, and banished) that, if you flip during the Draw/standby phase of your opponents first turn, can only be stopped by Red Reboot and Crossout Designator (provided your opponent is also playing feather storm). This is the definition of a "Win you the game trap card". Lyrilusc/Tri-Brigade also have draw power in Lyrilusc Bird Sanctuary, Farjit, and Winged Requital (which is a pay 600 Pot of Greed if you have at least 2 wind Winged Beasts on your field (and no other monster types/attribute).
@@Groxworld1 Your question could be applied to literally any other go first lockdown trap. "Was the idea that you just pray you opened full combo with Dimensional Barrier?" This card is better than D. Barrier so of course people used it in decks that could activate it.
@@moonjelly5 So I've only recently played TCG format with sideboarding and all that, understanding necessities Going Second was easy, but it's Going First where I've started to learn about the "insta-win Going First side options" My general philosophy has been to use engine cards as they're searchable, but it genuinely has never occurred to me that you can just grab a card that functionally reads "no monster effects this turn", add three of them and just pray you open them without worrying that you might be Going Second In which case, I'm honestly even more shocked Feather Storm hasn't been so much as looked at by the banlist
I mean, synchro climb and other synchrob deck make very good use of assault synchron. However it doesn't mitigate enough the main problem of the deck which is it's fragility to hand traps.
Probably the funniest twitter thread in a good bit. It’s weird seeing cards on here that I’m like “wait I’ve seen this on master duel and people think it’s good there” but the MD banlist is wildly different
Great seeing you at the nawcq man! Hope the food at the concession stand was good. As for the card, skill prisoner for me
Performapal five rainbow magician will forever be funny to me. Because it’s just mystic mine at home, and the only decks that would play it also have 12 spell trap removal. Since it’s mine effect is only active if the player doesn’t have a set spell/trap while in pend zone. While it’s monster effect is just to put it back into the pend zone.
There's probably some dipshit combo that dies to Ash Blossom that turbos out Five-Rainbow + Dark Simorgh
@@StarfieldDisarrayr just tech it in a simorgh deck for da lulz since eev is (most likely) getting hit :vvv
@@StarfieldDisarraythere was for a time when the simourgh link was first released but it was never that good

Iron dragon Tiamat on is really good.
I played him in a true Draco list. You can set cards with the Dracos and then summon Tiamaton to pop 2 cards out of nowhere and also trigger your own Draco S/T card.
9:37 I would love for a compilation of bad Twitter thread answers this shit is hilarious
Here’s an idea for one of these videos: Cards you would go out of your way to activate if given the chance despite it being suboptimal. In my case it was the Uber big bosses like Red Nova dragon and Neo Galaxy Eyes Photon Dragon.
Watching this one live was the best thing in the world. Joseph slowly going insane from all the absolutely wrong entries was something to behold.
I wanna see Beast King Unleashed and Yell "OMG PROG PLAYOFFS REFERENCE"
Yu-Gi-Oh players are absolutely never beating the illiteracy allegations.
The person who posted Verte killed me
Finally something worse that that “unintentionally combo” thread from way back.
Zealantis came back with a vengeance
If I might be petty for a second, I said scrap raptor and got told "this card absolutely saw play, Sam won the remote duel invitational with dinosaur after it came out" and somehow nobody pointed out that his deck from that event wasnt even playing scrap raptor
I mean your answer was unquestionably wrong, but not for the reasons MBT pointed out
8:03 Assault Synchron sees play in... Synchron.
Back then, when it was released, it didn't see play in the meta decks, and as a Synchron player, the deck is rogue at best.
Though nowadays that's no longer the case as Snake Eyes are running him as their tuner of choice
Watching you slowly disintegrate on stream while some of the most meta cards ever are posted is some of the funniest ygo content i have ever seen
6:21 this aged well…
I've been a Titanocider believer since release! Getting the loop off is so sick
The big bonus is supposed to be that it doesn't banish itself after using it, less so about the attack drop, IMO.
I'm gonna call the Floowandereeze counter trap. It's surprisingly similar to the Mayakashi trap that was mentioned in the video.
It’s funny to me that Titanocider’s artwork depicts Appo, and she is presumably the Titanocider (the one committing Titanocide), and yet, the card would actually do a good job of stopping Appo herself, as without any ATK, she would have no negates, and would be able to be run over by anything. (Of course, she could just negate the card before it goes off.)
appo is a monster negate she cant negate the card
@@beegyoshi1685 Even more so then.
@@nnnp634are you really arguing over the pronoun of a fictional object? You people are insane
I really liked messing with this in Skull Servants. Protects the King and makes him STRONGER.
@@jimzh7669 send Glow Up Bloom banish to get Bal
Yeah dark sacrifice was one that was toyed around in my sphere on release as an altergeist card. Turns out it doesn't really help them get to faker faster.
“Going the opposite direction,”
In master duel I have a Drytron build that uses borrelload riot dragon and it works pretty well. Bc you can discard any card in your hand to return it from GY, so easy way to get Drytrons in grave
Havenly zephyr miradora is playable with dragon rulers/armed dragon and specificly is a negate that doesnt interrupt light and darkness dragon if that is part of your end board
Armed Dragon Flash can summon the Thunder Lv3 too. Having access to a free plus off any body sent makes it insane in ADT decks.
Zealantis aged like milk with snake eyes running around
Yugioh players are the type of mfs to bring a smoothie to a potluck
FYI Titanocider is an UR in MD, Lost Wind - a card that does basically the same thing, is an R.
*SR, my bad, mistaken it for the titan slayer
Titanocider is SR
Arguably Lost Wind is just better too, no OPT and titanocider isn't outpacing it until turn 6! and even then under extreme circumstances(they summon from extra on your turn 3&5).
it's literally just because artemis is on the art, isn't it?
Using it on Changeover makes so many people scoop. Love it to bits
Honestly a thread about cards released too late or too early is an amazing thread idea cause a card like instant fusion took years of fringe playability until Norden was released
If we talk about cards released at the wrong time, we must mention “Expendable Dai”
It’s Gemini spark as a trap for warriors and was released in 2020.
Gemini Spark saw play until the Hero structure in 2015. Imagine if it weren’t locked to the worst card type in the game but instead to the best one.
Instant Fusion wasn't released too early, the Special summon was valuable and allowed more explosive plays years before any Entity was printed.
1:28 skip the adverisment.
I never read Red Blossoms but its so close to being a crazy Tear Mirror card. If you could guarantee it in your opener going second you could get it really twisted
most amazing card that never sees play is Witch"s Strike. ability to render opponent of any card on field or hand is what we live to see in duels
"i just hope that we never figure it out"
i just got vanity'd from a single beatrice last week because of that mayakashi and the new trap card in my locals
Assault synchron has proven to be a nasty surprise in majestic star decks. Turns out majestic star dragon isn't once per turn
Looking at Iron Dragon Tiamaton just hit me with the thought that a 4 star vanilla monster with 3000 atk wouldn't even see play nowadays
it is a dai target so plants would play it to crash with stuff
NGL, the end of the video reel is almost better than the main content.
It was extremely funny seeing mbt go like "WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT NEVER SAW PLAY? THIS WAS CRAZY IN THE 5TH BEST REAPER FORMAT DECK".
"This was a staple with so many tops (2) for 5 minutes after this crazy set came out!“
"How could you forget about the 13th best target to send off dogmatika maximus when dogmatika was popular?“
"This card literally dominated progression playoffs for weeks on ends, are you even using your brain?"
Loved the video, but really sad that none mentioned pot of greed, the card has seen close to zero play compared to how long ago it was printed
Underdog works in ancient warriors as they can use it to meme dark ruler and send as cost so it doesn’t majorly stop them
Tiamaton is actually a very good tech choice in vanquish soul that nobody seems to notice
Am in video :puggers:
Anyway man seeing these cards despite learning almost every card and suddenly finding the existence of *other* cards is utterly craaazy
Please tell me I can watch the full version of this thread somewhere. The outro makes it look amazing.

Psychic Erasure Laser had a brief stint of playability in Common Charity in Beetrooper before Kumungous and Gadarla were printed in the Traptrix Structure Deck.
Tiamaton saw some play in the OCG in VS. However, we have Kashtira at full power, which is a better engine.
Fuming that my Odd-eyes Pendulumgraph Dragon post didn’t make the cut.
He's so full of energy at the start
2:30 I made a reply about it on Twitter, but it’s very obvious why Firewall never saw play again when there was an insanely more consistent and powerful Link-4 (Accesscode). Spenster makes it seem like there’s confusion as to why FD never saw play.
Patchwork being a reply is so funny because not only was it played in despia when it was the arguable best deck
Its being played again in builds of the deck *now*
Mainly as a small engine to fetch you poly and a dark monster for fusion decks, right?
@@granmasterswordyes. If you are a dark fusion deck it's an auto include. Predaplants always run this despite that deck being bad.
I’m curious what was the vod for this called? I genuinely want to see the whole thing considering what the comments are saying and Dire’s edit.
My honorable mention from youtube comments: Cactus Bouncer
as a easly searchable floodgate that makes opponen unable to special summon i dotn think it saw that much competetive play, its not even hard to summon it with plants getting more aviable "additional normal summons".
You can play Borreload riot dragon in a 60-card Drytron deck on Master Duel because you can burn one of anything you own to get a ritual back to your hand
And it's only a rare
Supply Squad saw play in the earliest Burning Abyss builds and was pretty intense.
When the card got confirmed for Speed Duels I assumed it would make Ratbox insaaane but it never saw play in that format besides the current Roids deck.
This was actually painful to watch live, and funny to see him suffer to no end
Truly the embodiment of "YGO players can't read"
See? You get it. That's what made this thread so entertaining :)
It takes s special kind of person to see "cards that never saw play" and think "Harpie's Feather Storm"
I play Lyrilusc and know I am a complete monster for using it.
I am honestly shocked this thing has not found its way onto a ban list.
Wait, did it actually see play? Was the idea that you just pray that you opened full combo with Harpie's Feather Storm?
@@moonjelly5 So I've only recently played TCG format with sideboarding and all that, understanding necessities Going Second was easy, but it's Going First where I've started to learn about the "insta-win Going First side options"
My general philosophy has been to use engine cards as they're searchable, but it genuinely has never occurred to me that you can just grab a card that functionally reads "no monster effects this turn", add three of them and just pray you open them without worrying that you might be Going Second
In which case, I'm honestly even more shocked Feather Storm hasn't been so much as looked at by the banlist
I actually use Zealantis in my Mako Umi deck since its free and allows for lethal easily.
The bloopers at the end are always the best part.
I mean, synchro climb and other synchrob deck make very good use of assault synchron. However it doesn't mitigate enough the main problem of the deck which is it's fragility to hand traps.
Probably the funniest twitter thread in a good bit. I beefed the assignment and posted Crossout Designator solely bc I know it was a card that was hyped up a bunch and I've personally never seen it used outside of MD, but the thread goes to show how many crazy cards exist in the game and why I love YGO so much
Can't wait for the vod for this then, because the montage at the end was amazing
