Digital Detox Update Vlog- we are in HYPERREALITY - 1st of many!

To preface, i wanted to acknowledge that we are living through the collapse of an empire, in real time. The systems by which America has sustained itself and become a global super power are beginning to crumble under the weight of their own contradictions:
The masses are seeing through this. In these times of economic hardship, we find people turning to radical solutions, scapegoats, escapism, and alienation more than ever. Many people do not want to admit it, but we are witnessing a repeat of history. it’s just that, there’s enough flashy distractions to keep us from noticing. Pandemic, economic recession, and many of the causes of WW2 (MAIN) are being redeveloped as we speak, across the globe. Authoritarian regimes are consolidating power by manipulating the masses through social media. We are living through a new colonialism( divided and conquer) , by the oligarchic global ruling class. Our generation been raised in a war of ideology, a culture war being fought through mass media and the internet. They are feeding off of our insecurities, our most visceral emotions, our cultures, our religions, to turn us against one another and do their bidding.
In this video, I wanted to explain how my gradual disconnection from the internet has brought me to this conclusion, and allowed me to try and see different perspectives from an unbiased point of view.
I fear if we do not do what is necessary, for all of us to put ourselves first and disconnect from the hyper reality that is social media, then it will consume us. We cannot let the incentives of social media distract us from all the negatives which outweigh any benefits. We need to free ourselves.
I have an Essential Viewing playlist on my channel which I am attempting to update daily. In it, I include videos which I have found helpful in formulating my own opinion in regards to our current geopolitical state. This can be from pop culture analysis, to geography, to critical theory, psychology, film analysis, artwork dissection, and so much more. However, any modern day meme or piece of media can be analyzed through this framework. Thank you so much for watching!
