What would our lives look like if we drowned out all the noise around us? In our modern world, we constantly expose ourselves to different sources of instant gratification like social media, junk food, video games, alcohol, or porn as these activities provide us with one dopamine hit after another. But it can quickly happen that our consumption gets out of balance and we get addicted to one of those things. Our brain creates impulsive behaviors where we don't even think about engaging in one of these activities anymore but just do it right away. In order to show you the benefits of a life without any toxic consumption, I decided to detox from all of these dopamine sources for 7 days. During that time I recognized massive benefits like boosted productivity, mental clarity, and overall calmness. I hope this video motivates you to take back control over your own life as well!

Exactly. The dude is messing with viewers just to get his dopamine. Dopamine fasting is not science based and it is debunked by multiple scientific articles. As harvard edu puts it "You can’t “fast” from a naturally occurring brain chemical".

Here I am after 7 Days of Dopamine Detox!
Thank you so much, Niklas Christl, for sharing your personal experience and guiding us through each step of the dopamine detox. Your video not only provided valuable insights but also served as a source of motivation for people like me who were seeking a positive change.
Throughout the detox, I discovered a newfound appreciation for what truly matters in life. Breaking away from the distractions and bad habits allowed me to reconnect with my thoughts, engage in meaningful activities, and cultivate a sense of discipline I never knew I had. These 7 days were certainly not easy, but the sense of accomplishment I feel now is incredible. I can confidently say that this experience has ignited a positive change in my life, and I am committed to continuing this journey of self-improvement. Thank you once again for guiding this path, and I hope your video reaches many more individuals seeking positive transformations.
I watched this video at my office and it has been released two years ago. watching it from east Africa, Ethiopia. I don't have all this resources like shown on this video. I don't have a camera, audio recorder, vehicle, drone, beautiful home around amazing landscape and all extra. I have smartphone on my hand. my phone killed me gradually starting from my age of 16. now I am 28. For all those 12 years my brain activity, my thinking level, my memory, all of my good identity was fadeout. i lost a focus at all currently. I tried a lot of time to escape from it, I tried to watch a lot of video. but nothing happened. today its April 6, 2024 GC. i found this video while i was searching for procrastination. this is experimental video. even if i don't have all this resource to show my change, keep my word, i will overcome all my scattered and wandering mind. I will disengage with all destruction from my phone and my environment. I will regain my focus and become vigilant as my childhood.
Thank you in advance

As a psychotherapist, I must add that the root cause of all the addictions is dopamine addiction but that can be replaced by getting dopamine by doing good things too. High Intensity workout, achieving small goals, following a routine, being productive & a good sleep - all of these are a source of good dopamine 👌🏻🔥
Thank you
Yes but the dopamine hits we get from content and junk food is instant and as a result we become impatient and aren't ready to work for the good things. Working out, good sleep, learning new things, they are all slow processes.

the best edited and filmed youtube videos i have seen over my years on this website, it is cinematic and is especially impressive given that you are doing all the work yourself. i appreciate this topic you chose to share to make a positive impact on people's lives, dopamine really is a issue these days. honestly, your life seems so fruitful and fun, and cute dogs! keep doing what you are doing, i love your photographic style and the way you present the video!
You have literally increased my DOPAMINE . Generally, I don't watch this type of videos but this video was something! . I think this will make a good change in my journey.
When I abuse dopamine, I notice a huge increase in anxiety, laziness, confusion, emotional instability, inability to focus, depression, and mental and physical weakness. So self-destructive and the ruin of many. Never again
We lose the high of life brotha, of being in the moment
This is exactly how I feel when I wake up in the morning and start scrolling through stuff on my phone. I am slowly breaking this awful addiction but it's hard.

Just sharing, It gives me unique ideas for novels and such.
This is one of the people who gave me the courage to start my RUclips channel 2 months ago about self development and now have 74 subs and almost 55 hour watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so much lessons that I couldn’t have learned without getting started in the 1st place
This was useful and a 'penny dropping' moment thank you! . I for the life of me couldn't figure out why I had abandoned my daily walking, my permaculture garden project, and baking and socialising. And yet sit for hours on RUclips (like now) , gaming, and social media. Funnily enough most of the content I was watching was self improvement. I had reduced the amount and thought I'm back on track, but after watching this clearly tells me I need to set some rules and remove all 'hijacking' habits to drive my brain to seek delayed gratification activities.
Great presentation and film work by the way. 🙏

So inspirational, dude. I had to look up your age out of curiosity -- and you're a year younger than me. I'm so impressed you figured all of this stuff out so early and had the discipline to follow through with it. I've been trying social media detoxes over the past few months and none were successful. After watching this video though, I really feel inspired to step up my game and try harder.
Thanks a lot man, really.

A few months back I watched this video, i was really into the dopamine detox thing, I watched your video and it was just great, the music, the way you edited, and just the way how it was so calm. It was one of the videos I remember for months. if you can create that, than you are the best kind of creator. I spend hours finding this video hoping to find it, and I did.

"I'm spending time in my life and not somebody else's." Wow that's a great way to put it. Social media has made us forget about living our own lives. This was inspiring. Thanks man!
Yes 😦
true
As I sit here in lockdown, basically from March 2020 at this point, I think about this.
I have been working hard to keep positive, trying to improve my life. Tbh, living my own life is not a great thing. Too much stress, isolation, and responsibilities. I keep trying though, but it makes it hard to take advice from a young, obviously wealthy, young man littered with opportunities. His life is not my life. I would rather live his life too.
Is like u living a life inside ur phone. Crazy :(
This types of videos are the one that actually give me motivation to change. Not the ones where people just talk about addictions and detoxes but the one where people are actually doing them.

This has always been the case. Every single trader always used to manipulate human's emotions to sell their product. A shoe salesman and a hair stylist will manipulate your ego into getting their fancy shoes or getting some weird hairdo, a butcher and a baker will sell their products by telling you how delicious they are and what meals you could prepare with it etc. This is not something new. I get the general idea that having too much dopamine can be bad for you because it can cause addictions but then why not just do everything in moderation?
I love soda I love juice but I've been drinking lots of water. I've been trying to limit my videogame time to only a couple hours a day and a few days a week I use social media very minimally (except discord and RUclips but I'm working on that)
I watch little TV or Movies the only thing that's left is working on cutting out more junk food out of my diet in favor of more balanced meals. I don't think going on a detox is a bad idea it just seems a little unnecessary to cut it all out especially when it's gonna make you go into withdrawal
Thanks man, really appreciate how practical and close to home you express these issues. So practical, real and to the point. Thanks for helping be the best of my potential. One new word I've stick to is 'PROGRESSION', really helps me to desire to grow.

The first week of stopping is the worst in my opinion, each time I re-stop, I'm still so obsessed with it for so long, that I don't feel productive at all.
I encourage any others that may have the same plan to do so :)
It's a long journey, but a sober life is a life more worth living, I think. Because, as the videast said... The more you drown yourself in thoses bad habit, the more your decisions are less yours and more those of the content you feed yourself with

Boredom is actually a very crucial part of creativity imo. Some of the best ideas/thoughts always pop up in your mind when trying to fall asleep, walking alone, having a shower etc (i.e. moments when your brain is not busy and thoughts can flow freely). Thank you for this video. We have learned that our lives are shackled and make us lose our sense of things. For example, things from our childhood. I will work on applying this.
Great video! I am happy that as a boomer I got to spend the vast majority of my life pre-social media. But even for me, sitting quietly is not easy. I sat in a doctor's waiting room 45 minutes yesterday, just observing and listening and thinking ( or at least trying to think...). Everyone else was staring at a device. You reference the awareness and calmness that came back into your life - research is starting to document the negative effects of screen addiction, and I am afraid we are just seeing the tip of the proverbial iceberg.
This dude definitely lives somewhere near heaven, I mean the house, the surroundings, everything is so friggin beautiful!
And now it's me, in a neighborhood with all the dangers of the world... Leaving me to limit myself to play videogames and watch videos like this one, just because i don't have a place to watch a sunset, or take a safe walk like that... This is the third world experience... This sucks :')
@@MichiruKnoxwell eyyy, its alright buddy, I'm from a "third world country" too😂 we're gonna build a better future for ourselves, keep going🔥
Its called Spain, and I can assure you I wouldn't change my nationality for nothing on the world. :D
@@anantprakashsingh8777 you're so encouraging. Thank you
Unlike me , i'm living in such a depressive and polluted area....
One crucial tip for everyone : when watching videos like this make sure to take a note while watching it. Otherwise you will forget it completely and lose that motivation you had after some hours. Taking short notes takes effort, that effort makes the brain save that memory.
It's true and really effective.
Thank me later.
Good advice
@@EJBTV 😊 thanks brother
Bout to do that rn, thx!
1) how many videos like this do you watch?
2) memory. use it.
@@point-bl4nk create notes while watching.
*Notes on how dopamine detox works
*What are the benefits
*What are the things to avoid and how positively it affects our life, etc.
Noting these down will make us never forget what we saw and learn. Simply watching videos makes us feel like we understood everything about it, but we forget it suddenly. In life without effort there is no result, so we make effort by writing and fixing it to the brain. So that memory will stay there. And you are more likely to follow what you have learned in it
This is the first RUclips video from you I have ever seen but its also the best RUclips video I've ever seen amazing point and editing thank you!
This video makes us realizse... we are litterally wasting the time of our lifes.
I started noticing i picked up my phone and... what? for what?
Thank you, now, I'm working on better life habits and I'm grateful to watch his video as a teen.
Sports without music. That’s how David goggins says it should be done. The hard way, just you vs your head
My one exception is lifting weights. For me personally, listening to heavy metal while lifting gets me in an angry rage-full mood that I use to lift heavier and serve as an healthy outlet for negative emotions.
@@DeltaHouseStudios not a lot of people understand this great point
@@DeltaHouseStudios Absolutely. Studies show you train harder with music so take advantage of it and have fun when you exercise!
I think there are two aspects to sport - mental and physical. Silence helps you train the mental aspect, improving your psychological conditioning. Music boosts your mental aspect so you can push past it, thus pushing your body to its limits, if your mental aspect is weaker. This improves your physiology more than if you trained in silence (but at the expense of extra mental conditioning).
He's living the vacation we always wanted.
Thank you for motivating me. I'm doing this experiment this week. I've not challenged myself for a long time and this is the chance.
Still watching this video even after 2 years since it was published. Really great work done and I enjoy watching it every single time. Thank you very much for it, Niklas 🙂

No way his dopamine didn't spike while holding the dog.

Totally agree !
I think the fact that you made a video of your challenge is the reason why you were able to accomplish it in the first place
It's a lot harder when you know that you won't be rewarded with admirers after you complete it.
But still you completed it so it's fair I guess
@@user-de3vz5dp8o 😂 dude so what are you doing on social media 🤣
I didn't realise that this was the actual reason why I wasted my 2 years being distracted from goals and at the end not achieving goals caused dipression and anxiety . This are real issues we should focus on this 👍
