Assassin's Creed is an open-world, action-adventure, and stealth game franchise published by Ubisoft and developed mainly by its studio Ubisoft Montreal using the game engine Anvil and its more advanced derivatives. Created by Patrice Désilets, Jade Raymond, and Corey May, the Assassin's Creed video game series depicts a fictional millennia-old struggle between the Order of Assassins, who fight for peace and free will, and the Knights Templar, who desire peace through order and control. The series features historical fiction, science fiction, and fictional characters intertwined with real-world historical events and historical figures. In most games, players control a historical Assassin while also playing as an Assassin Initiate or someone caught in the Assassin-Templar conflict in the present-day framing story. Considered a spiritual successor to the Prince of Persia series, Assassin's Creed took inspiration from the novel Alamut by the Slovenian writer Vladimir Bartol, based on the historical Hashashin sect of the medieval Middle East.

9:57 This is a bell as it turns out. I didn't get access to the exclusive footage that many creators recieved so I was speculating :c
you'll get there bro :D
@@lunalargo49 thanks man :D
My guess is the bell is a distraction tool, like you throw it or shake it to make noise that will distract enemies or make them come closer to you so that you can assassinate them from a hiding spot, similar to how in some games, you can whistle to make enemies come closer to you.
Maybe its a whistle to get peoples attention if you try to sneak with him.
Yeah, that's the wind chime that Sakai and Kakashi used.
I love that the camera is a bit more intimate, it always bugged me how zoomed out it got in the rpg ACs
yeah for yasuke i think its perfect, it really brings attention to his playstyle more
IKR. Especially in Origins and Odyssey.
Gosh yes. A closer camera looks so much better.
Yes i agree it makes it more immersive and even with the combat , in valhalla i hated the way the camera zoomed out during combat , but with shadows i think they they did something with the scale of the world and the buildings where it feels realistic and immersive
@@PHK2315 because in those games, the scale is much larger than prior ac games. Bigger zones with more enemies to be potentially fought in combat, it wouldn't be fair or fun if you had to fight 14 dudes attacking you simultaneously while the camera is stuck on your ass
5:27 I LOVE how the enemies actually tells his servant to go fight yasuke! THAT IS SO FIRE
As all enemies should be
Yasuke could have at least TRIED to not just destroy the poor dude though... Lmao
@@kagenotatsumakinah he needed to make an example for what was about to happen to the target 😂
6:26 But then come the unrealistic part, a normal size soldier suddenly running toward, attacking Yasuke after witnessing what he just did to all the bodies lying around? 😂
@@thangngudxop That's actually incredibly realistic. Cowardice has no place in the mind of a Samurai.
It's impossible not to be hyped for this. Yasuke's combat looked intense and bloody, Naoe's stealth was filled with mechanics and aesthetics. You can tell that Ubisoft listened to the fans. Their mission is to please everyone and, at least in the first gameplay trailer, they're achieving it
Agreed was a bit skeptical on teaser trailer but this gameplay showed alot of promises
No hit numbers, better graphics and gameplay looks smooth
I can give you some good reasons why I'm not. 1. Scummy marketing on the prices 2. it's Ubisoft, you're naive if you DO get hype for any of their games, and you're braindead if you preorder them.
@@mattp.6660I preordered the $500 edition 😌 … soooo now what?
Good joke, I bursted out laughing
yes, yasuke looks like a great and fearsome warrior and slayer of men, who is also proudly apart of the lgbtq+ community. honestly though, it does look good all things aside.
the bottom option could be whistle button ore call horse like odyssey 4:00
I was thinking that or dynamic UI option. Like if you wanna hide/show mission log and map on your Hud. Kinda like GR breakpoint.
Im gonna use them both equally depending on who makes more sense for the mission and story I want them to both shine
They're both good. It will be a waste of their talents if you only use one
that should be the point of 2 main characters, isn't it?
@@cartonflesh9961 I know I’m saying it for the people that say they are gonna use one a lot more than the other
I haven’t been this excited since maybe origins
same!
Same. I loved Odyssey and Valhalla personally (still have to try out Mirage) but PRE-RELEASE-wise, the last time I was THIS excited for a release was Origins
16:02 Samurai used to practice caligrapgy, poetry and other disciplines, like how Jin Sakai makes haikus in Ghost of Tsushima. I think is good that they show things like this
Exactly. That's calligraphy, not painting. Although Yasuke only spent about 1,5 years in Japan irl, which wouldn't have been enough time to fully learn Japanese writing. But maybe he started to learn it, who knows.
Haikus in Ghost of Tsushima made no sense whatsoever since it was not invented yet during that time period.
The most famous is Miyamoto Musashi (I hope I spelled that right)
@@zeroskaterz92 i mean tbf to Ghost of Tsushima its less meant to be a accurate rendition of the time period and more a kurosawa movie-esque retelling of a historical event
i mean a few examples are:
katanas were not used as main weapons by samurai and the Naginata was far more prevelent.
Shinobi already existed and were frequently used by samurai clans for pollitical means and assassination's
The entire idea of honor in the game which is based on Bushido didn't even exist then and samurai were more than willing to go against what would be considered right.
but i think thats what made the game as fun as it was. it was not a accurate history but a highly dramatsised retelling of a vaguely historical event
It's kind of a tale of two games imo. I'll be honest, I just don't find really anything about Yaskue's gameplay interesting. Not bad but just not my thing. Naoe on the other hand???? Possibly the sickest looking gameplay I've ever seen in an AC game. Finally adding in the lightgem mechanic from Thief/Splinter Cell where you're given real time feedback on how well hidden you are in shadows. I love stealth games that have that type of detection vs just the basic line of sight detection that AC has traditionally had. And her movement and combat just looks absolutely incredible, really love her weapons.
Kind of the opposite for me. Not interested in stealth. I’ll be going in guns blazing every opportunity I can
I guess there is a bit for everyone well done ubisoft
I'm right there with you Yasukes gameplay did nothing for me, but Naoe feels like a huge boon for the dying stealth genre and I couldn't be more excited to play her as much as the game would allow me.
@@BlazerManiacNumber96 Interesting approach since I'm sure most fans of AC play those games for stealthy approach to things 😅
@@MultiKamil97 I play AC because I love history so exploring the different settings is a treat! I actively dislike stealth games lol
9:38
the shurikens dont deal damage to the enemies they rather stun them, and we can se them being used by naoe when she throws one towards the lantern before, and the left one is a bell (to lure probably) and then the one thats down are the smoke bombs
I think shurikens can just pearce armour, so kunai are used for enemies in just kimono
Shurikens were originally used in japan as distractions like throwing coins in the past ac games, it could either be a weapon thrown in handfuls to hit multiple enemies or something to distract enemies to lure them
I love how Yasuke is a walking tank, reminds me of Connor or Bayek
The Hidden One, Subscribed because your videos are so much fun!
welcome to the club
please don’t eff this up ubisoft, this looks great so far
They won't. Sure what AC game have they ever effed up? They are all good and some are great.
@@Johnjrambo75 true but people will always hate js cus it's ubisoft
@@DanteMayCry-qv5kffacts lmao
@@DanteMayCry-qv5kf I know yeah. The sheep people. They can't form their own opinion on anything.
They won't, if it looks this good in this stage, it's going to be good
The bottom option is for whistling
that's what i thought as well
good point! although the icon is a bit strange for a whistle feature
That's cool, its like splinter cell how you can whistle enemies over.
@@NomadMonkey396 Or like Assassin's Creed, where you've been able to whistle enemies over in almost every mainline game.
@@ValanxWF The only games I found it useful in was 3 and 4. Tbh I forgot it was even in the rpg games.
Will probably spend most time in Game as Naoe enjoying the fluid movement and quick parkour.
But there always comes need to just let out and massacre some fools with Yasuke
The bottom D-pad button actually I'm pretty sure is the whistle button but just for some reason on the display, I know that mirage and origins used the down D-pad button as a whistle button during stealth, it doesn't make too much sense but it was never said that stealth wasn't fully impossible to do as Yasuke despite his gameplay build.
6:00 Ghost of tsushima: look at what they need to do to mimic a fraction of my power.
GoT looks so much better than this shit though, it's crazy how bad everything looks in this gameplay
The in-game gore systrm actually has me hyped
The bottom d pad button seems to be a whistle but I could be wrong
Ac shadows looks fire 🔥 bro can’t wait 😅
The bottom d-pad option is probably just the "whistle"
i dead ass thought this was ghost of tsushima lmao
Tbh the stiff combat was a give away hope they make it more smooth
dont lie @vinzaisagod
I love GOT I'm on my second playthrough, but GOT wasn't the first samurai game, these two games can be compared, but it's best for both fandoms to not, there both going for something different.
Fr that first shot and the horse, after seeing the stealth and the environment I think it will be different
@@Ok_waffle it's best not to compare two games that literally share their playstyle? Ghost of Tsushima IS assassin's creed at it's gameplay core. It's the come back to roots that we've been promised hundred times by Ubisoft. The focus on parrying and generally interesting fighting mechanics, the stealth is amazing, much better than any new assassin's creed, and the world is detailed and lively - the game is also located in a historical location and contains (although changed) historical events.
The kunai can kill enemies outright where as the shuriken just stuns then during a fight. The shuriken is also useful as a tool for taking out lights
I really don't mind removing yasuke and the game is focused only on Naoe.
That's like saying I really don't mind removing content... She is a small ninja and can't do what Yasuke does... I bet that it will be the case where if Naoe faces like three people she will get wrecked if she doesn't run away.
Having just Naoe would have been better. Yasuke isn't anything close to an Assassin.
it looks and feels exactly like origin and all of the ac that came after that one. it just feels the same from the npc behaviour to the combat.
This AC feels really weird, there's something souless about it...
Wtf does that even mean?????
?? tf are you saying it's so far much better than all the rpgs
@@ipsonmin it still looks RPG like Odyssey/Origins AC tbf. Guys, chill
@@AnthonyWabo Naoe gameplay looks like the best in the series
@@HahahMamaman that’s cool, everyone can enjoy different things and that’s fine, i don’t have high hopes and deffo not riding Ubisoft’s nuts until proven wrong
Hey @TheHiddenOne690
The vibration symbol is possibly noise darts. They were popular with the Asian Assassins. The Indian Brotherhood was big on not killing non-essential targets, and used these frequently to distract enemy patrols. The Indian Master Assassin Arbaaz Mir showcased the use of these darts. The Chinese Assassins learned to use this from Mentor Shao Jun.
It’s most likely a whistle button
I think yasuke is for the rpg lover and naoe for the og assassin lover ❤ now ots time the fan base of ac unite together in ac shadow
i love how it is a mix of both RPG assassin's creed and OG assassin's creed because you have the skills, big open world map, andYasuke being a brute and warrior (and not as stealthy) but there is the stealthy parts where you can hide in the shadows, make distractions, assassinate, more stealthy mechanics and Naoe being a complete stealthy assassin hiding in the dark and being more secretive which I really love!
Down on the d-pad could be a whistle for stealth, but I’m not sure since Yasuke’s stealth will be limited.
The bottom d -pad is the whistle , im guessing we can place our action icons anywhere like in Odyssey
I'll definitely be playing as Naoe the most. Her gameplay just looks so amazing
How we all up in here it’s been 5 minutes
first.. nvm
It is very interesting how the npcs have mixed reactions to Yasuke (just like you said in the video). It's very cool that Ubisoft put their time into making even the least exciting of details of the game look realistic (especially when it comes down to historical context) where most people of that Era never seen a black man before. Great breakdown by the way.
I can't wait to play this game, it looks so cool.
It gives me the impression of a 3d chronicles game
So nice to see the comment section is not infested with. "Anti-woke" cry babys. Just because Yaska is real
@@Wisef1sh that's the internet for ya lol
The down d pad option could be whistle, because the same icon for a whistle was in ac chronicles
The npc don’t look « real ». The animations are sometimes too stiff. But this is miles better that what Ubisoft made for the past years.
I’m pretty sure that bottom icon is a whistle. It’s the same design as the whistle from AC: Chronicles
this is assassin's creed man
well when yasuke talked to the grandma. from there on. the whole game turns into got until naoe appears. but still the got vibe continues
I think the down d pad is a smoke bomb and the left d pad is a bell for luring enemies
For naoe tools i believe the bottom d pad is the smoke bomb and the left one is a little bell you can throw to attract or move a guard from their position
The bottom d pad button has got to be some sort of whistle my guess is that if you tap it it attracts nearby enemies and if you hold it it calls your horse
Down on the D-Pad is probably a whistle button just like syndicate or blackflag
The one from ubisoft forward is still a work in progress, so when ever there's a new release of gameplay footage, things may change a bit. So glad they put an additional spin at the parkour judging from what we've seen as Naoe performed a front flip.
And if a multiplayer became a thing, it's not unwelcome. Active players playing Naoe and Yasuke at a mission makes the game more whole.
Super hyped‼️love how smooth everything looks and how clean and quick the stealth looks.
I would definitely use Yasuke for daylight missions and Naoe for night missions. I would like to enjoy the experience with both 🙌🏾
being an assassin in japan is the game i have been wishing for in the past 10 years.
ghost of tsushima exists lol
@@ruskfluxghost of tshushima is a samurai game with mild stealth mechanics. Naoes gameplay is fully developed around stealth.
@@HahahMamaman nuh uh
@@HahahMamaman ghost of tsushima still had evolving tactics, ghost weapons and abilities you could get to add flavor to the strength, and even though weve seen little of the ac game, im willing to bet it wont hold a candle to GOT's story, characters, worldbuiling, immersion and progression, things that actually make the game an art piece worth remembering
@@ruskflux shadows will have better stealth, graphics, parkour, variety in gameplay, player freedom, world. Both are good games, one just came out 4 years ago. You can’t replay a game forever.
“Who killed all those guys?” Idk I think it was the only black guy in Japan.
I think the one in the bottom on the left part of the UI can mean three things. It can either be that you can fill that slot with maybe another weapon or a ranged weapon. But it could also be some sort of whistle as when people sign or talk if you record it without camera footage it could show those lines when talking. So maybe it's a whistle or a slot that isn't yet filled i'm not sure. Also i'm probably gonna be playing alot more as Naoe. Just bc it did say they played diffrently and it does look like Naoe will be stealthy assassin and Yasuke the more combat oriënted. I think this might be to attract players from both the rpg and older games. Yasuke is more like the newer rpg games (odyssey and valhalla) were you don't need stealth and can just brute force your way in. While Naoe plays more like the older games were stealth is the main focus. So i do like that. And even for missions you can choose who you play as including for side quests which could change dialogue so i'm happy about that.
My guess is that the bottom d-pad arrow is the “whistle” and “call mount” combined mechanic that we’ve seen before.
When you tought she missed her target it's because you tought that the person is where the shadow is. But the cast of the shadow depence on the light source, that's why te actual person can be a little bit away from te shadow.
I assumed the bottom option was just a whistle to attract people
The bottom d-pad oprion is to whistle to attract nearby guards and I am assuming holding down that button calls your mount
Edit: For Naoe, the left d-pad equips the noisemaker bombs from Mirage. The bottom d-pad equips the Smoke Bomb
Hope there's a Shao Jun outfit for Naoe.
I believe the down d-pad option is whistle/call mount
Regarding Naoe stabbing the enemy through the wall. It wasn't awkward, she had the blade at an angle to stab him between his armor...so in his side. Her blade can't stab through his armor back plate. It's a more realistic approach, not what games typically do by having the blade just go through the armor like it's made of paper. You'll notice in all her combat, she stabs in the gaps in armor...neck, side, arm etc whereas Yasuke who has the brute strength to pierce armor directly does the opposite.
4:07 hi, i'd assume that that's whistling. Great video btw!
That option on the down arrow is whistle and if u hold it its the horse calling
Both of their gameplay looks so amazing
Down on the d pad is Eagle vision, you can see Naoe use it at the start.
Beyond excited!
In the map overview screen you can see a Abstergo logo so this could mean that the main protagonist could be working for Abstergo before leaving and joining the assassins probably like Layla Hassan or it could be the first person mission from black flag and Rogue in the modern day.
I bet that ex abstergo employee who joined the modern assassins is a japanese
All they need to do is make the animation more fluid and less stiff and it could be good
Another W vid, Ngl, this game looks fire, I was reluctant at first, but after wacthing the trailer im now hyped, Im getting this game. Seeing the stealth in this game is amazing, in one part we see the female character go under wayer and use a tool to catch her breath and thars actually something real ninjas did. This is amazing. And the combat looked awsome. Seeing the armour getting damaged was so cool.
the down d pad could be a whistle to attract guards
I'm so hyped for this game
Love the videos! I think you should mention the similarities between Naoe and Shao Jun. The hook to the ceiling, the shuriken in the lamps .
black samurai = im not playing your game
Cool story, will still sell a mill or more. They don’t need your support.
@@osrthejourney Just like the new starwars, lord of the wings and scooby doo VELMA etc
I think the "noise wave" option might be the eagle-eye (the one where you "scan" your surroundings for loot or enemies)
It really feels like a 3D version of AC Chronicles in terms of gameplay and stealth.
I think that the bottom depad would be a whistle because it is a symbol of noise. The down depad has also been used as a whistle in past AC Games like unity, syndicate, and more.
I'm wondering do they have a feature like manually sheathing the katana (weapons), or like manually using/opening the hood like in valhalla? And i really" like that their walking animation is not sluggish like in ac valhalla and mirage, also the cutscene is just *chefkiss
i'm hyped once again 😭😭 ubisoft don't let me down please
Bottom d-pad option seems like whistle for lure/calling horse maybe? 4:00
I'm actually pretty certain that the down option of the D pad is the whistle
This looks like a pre order for me for sure it looks fire from what we’ve seen so far
im pretty sure the bottom icon on the dpad is a whistle option
Can play stealth with yasuke?
yes it’s possible. he’s just bad at it, like he makes more noise and gets detected quicker
The only ac RPG im excited for, I swear if they mess this up i aint playing any assassin's creed after that
Nice video man. Always look forward to hearing your breakdowns
disco breakdown?
@@TheHiddenOne690 as soon as I commented this I thought someone is going to comment something like that 🤣
i couldn't resist, sorry!
The sound option on the dpad could be to call your horse?? But then again doesn't make sense to be active during combat, could be a battle cry feature to intimidate your enemies 🤔
The bottom D-side option is probably whistle.
10:21 u can see the blue bar above the health that indicates lung capacity
This is a lot better than what I had expected, though it's better to be cautious until the game releases ig
I'm loving that there are no longer any dialog choices.
I absolutely loved the gameplay shown
The down button on the d pad will probably be for whistling
It looks very promising, I gotta give them that. I love those little things like having a straw underwater to breathe, extinguishing the lights and such. Graphics look really beautiful so I'm glad that I upgraded my PC a few months ago, I will max it out this game and enjoy the visuals 😁 It still takes me out of immersion though that they depicted Yasuke as actual samurai and even have people bow their heads before him which I'm completely sure didn't happen and wouldn't happen in feudal Japan. I'm still going to play mostly as Naoe so that's enough for me. Her gameplay looked like a proper AC style of playing while Yasuke honestly seems like an afterthought.
Im exited for this game it looks really good. I can already say its going to be better then half of the ac games. The bottom button is for whistling btw. I'll probably play mostly naoe I play mainly stealth in old ac games.
I wonder if they would let you take heads as trophies and present them to Oda. It might be a bit gory for Ubisoft but it is something that they did in the Sengoku Era
I think the thing for down on the d-pad might be whistling
I hope there is a way to switch back and forth between characters quickly like gta to set up really cool tactical fights
Actually really excited for this. I’ve been wanting to play an AC game in Japan for so long, and this looks amazing. Naoe in particular looks to play exactly as what I imagined it could look like. Really glad Ubisoft decided to listen to it’s fans on stealth mechanics
Really excited about this and really glad ubisoft didnt disappointed from what shown so.far and i get to play both as an actual assain and a brawler equally
Stealth looks really good and is what I'm most excited for
Hopefully it’s closer to Odyssey than Valhalla
From the gameplay it looks pretty cool, I have to admit, looking like an interesting game so far hope to see more though like some of the Historical characters.
I love this channel so much
Keep it up HiddenOne
thanks gareth
the lines at 4:10 look like the whistle ability from ac chronicles
10:45 The way she just obliterated that group of trees 😂
They were actually bamboos and suddenly they disappeared into nothingness
