Suzuki vstrom 250 is the most underrated adv bike in Indian market, it is the best adv motorcycle on 250cc segment even offer you a pakka fuel economy, service quality, design, maintenance, etc. But the problem with the bike is the lack of features like Hazzard light switch, switchable abs, still offering a boring instrumental console, etc
I have riden my Himlayan bs6 rock red edition for about 6k kms and its a beautiful machine in case of power delivery and torque. On the highway my best top speed is around 130km/hr and in case of offroading bcoz of its raw nature it even beats xpulse and 390 adv but the major disadvantage is the weight
Also the massive vibrations.
I know the seat height of vstrom is a little high but it matters when you are using it like a scooter taking short rides. But if only used for touring I think it might not be that kind of an issue.
Suzuki offers lower seat options which can reduce seat height to 810 mm from 835 mm. It's a very good initiative by Suzuki for short riders.
@@pinkesh2703 810 mm seat is very uncomfortable and you bum will get sore quite easily.
The best alternative would be to shave off some cushion from the original seat as it has alot of cushion.
@@nuclear9977 Or... just learn when to put your foot down, and how to. VStrom with stock seat is easy to ride if you are above than 5'5" height. Below that you just need to learn to ride it. It's really not hard to ride big bikes. If you are short, then getting a Himalayan or other ADV bikes which are 800mm+ will not magically make you taller. Same story -- just learn to ride tall bikes, it's easy.
Vstrom is way more reliable than himalayan
believe me I have owned an himalayan but then due to some issues in the cone set and the chassis I sold it to buy the sx
V storm Sx is more reliable and refined than any adventure bike in sub 500cc category.
A great combination of all things
1.engine refinement like Honda
2.light weight and responsive handling like KTM
3.off road character of Himalayan as seen in this video
4.lots of space for rider and pillion like Himalayan
5. Road presence like TRK 251
6.Reliability of Xpulse 200
7.Highway ride ability like KTM but way smoother.
The only problem for Indian rider is its tall seat height - but there is a low seat option available for prospective short rider and it reduces seat height to 800mm.Again its better than the KTM 250 adv which is tallest in seat height.
Its decently priced for being a 250cc bike , if someone is comparing its price to underpowered 200cc adventure bikes , its foolish.

Why would someone compare it's price to under powered bikes?? 400 cc bikes are available at the same price. Dominar 400 and himalayan! V storme is extremely costly for a 250cc bike.
Lowering the seat hieght hampers the comfort of the seat significantly..
What offroad character? Whole point of ADV is to have nice long travel suspension that soaks up the bumps/rocks.
Same Gixxer 250 suspension travel. Vstorm can only do light offroading which the gixxer 250 can also do.
No point in paying extra money for Vstorm.
It is just a road bike with ADV plastic.

For Off road himalyan , but i own a vstrom, cz i just want pass some ofroad conditions vstrom will make you pass any shitty roads & trails with out any struggle ,and when comes to highways and long run vstrom win your heart. And save your pockets. And the road presence boom🎉

D400 and vstrom both are good for touring. But if u will use bike only for touring and nothing else then its D400.
But if u need to ride in all circumstances like highways, city traffic and offroads (like village roads, muddy roads, himalayan trails etc) then its vstrom 250.

I own a v strom and have ridden Himalayan previously. Nothing beats Himalayan off road below 4-5 lacs. Suspension in Vstrom is stiff because it is essentially the same as gixxer 250. For highways though the Suzuki is more refined, comfortable and can go faster.

Off road only are Xpulse200 n Himalayan, their highway performance is lacking.
Dual sport bikes are V strom SX and KTM Advs.

Vstorm biggest draw back is suspension travel. Which makes it a little better than its own naked Street siblings...i mean there is little that v storm can do that Gixxer can't or cannot be modified into.
Yes but i have done such roads ,but utna pata nhi chalta front suspension. But thoda rear suspension hard lag sakta hai.

Requirement ke hisab se lo. V-storm got everything Himalayan got. But better reliability of engine and parts. Spiti bhi bahat log kar chuke without any single failure.

The vstrom is not bad , but the suspension is not great , for the price , you dont get slipper clutch which will be great for city ride, Also I found it to be very eager in the first gear which will take some getting used to. Overall its a bit pricier for what it offers.
V strom have Suzuki's clutch assistant system
It worth the price in terms of mileage and you feel way more less vibration than Himalayan anyday which actually matter when you do touring.
Saying suspension is not great, do you even own the bike? Have you test ridden it anytime? Which bikes you're comparing it with? Do you own those other bikes?

It's definitely softer than Gixxer. I have gixxer 250. But I can't say that it's softer than Himalayan. Didn't feel that way.
