Would have been such a lovely upgrade to do today, but gosh darn it, I will have to extend the wire. Need to cut it and solder it. Mine is too short, SW-X1 V4... also, the fan duct on my stock 4020 fan, has been glued to the fan shroud for some reason (only on one corner). I had to break the plastic to get the shroud cover off.
next time use a bit of IPA to remove the glue. I know day late dollar short ;) The fans wires have gotten shorter. but I replaced them with winsinn ones after awhile anyway. they have longer wires and I buy them in bulk for spares.
You prolly dont give a shit but if you guys are stoned like me atm you can watch pretty much all the latest series on Instaflixxer. Been streaming with my girlfriend for the last days :)
Liked the video. Appreciate the quite, calm presentation. I remixed your cool USB cover on thingiverse and was jazzed to “meet the maker” so to speak. Subscribed and keep ‘em coming.
that issue started when i just put it together and found out the ffc cable for x axis. i pushed it in until i heard or felt a click and that solved my issue.
Can you please do a follow up? How is the X1 going? Also, any further mods regarding the X1 - there still seems to be a lot of interest! Cheers - subbed!
I have a V1 & V2 so I will try to get some more updated links and prints. Hoping to upgrade the bed and get a few more videos up. just limited on funding at times :)
Hi, great list, I was thinking about printing that extruder fan and cover, did you use supports when you printed it? Didn’t mention either way on thingaverse. Also did you print it with the logo face down? Thanks!
Awesome well thought through! Thank you for all the links. One thing would love to have is the trim piece around the bed to cover up the foaming foil, if it was in blue like the rest of your parts, would look slick.
Well this video was made way before that issue ever popped up. it should be fixed on the newest additions but here is a link for one just in case www.thingiverse.com/thing:4063458
Using right side USB-B printer port.(blue cable came in spares bag) If your having trouble connecting update your USB drivers to CH340 and turn off power saving/ screensaver features. Also baud rate is 250000
@@Sgt.Taz3D It worked! Thanks! Just had to update the COM6 driver under device manager. Been running this thing non stop since I got it a week ago. Your other up grades have been a big help. Thanks!
Nice work. There are a couple here I knew about but have overlooked, so i'm going to add those to my printer next up. You mentioned printing channels for the extrusions to keep gunk out, but I don't see a link for those. I tried searching thingiverse, but couldn't find anything. And there is only so deep you can go into the thingiverse before your head starts to hurt. I was thinking of just running some tape along the open extrusions temporarily, but I suspect that could randomly come unstuck and could get caught in moving parts... Cheers for the video! I look forward to a follow up if you add any new additions, or start upgrading hardware.

Thanks for the like & Sub! I enjoy using this printer myself and it gets more use than the Ender 3 Pros I have. There is a ton of information on FB if you have immediate questions as well as a group on thingiverse. Main thing is take your time in assembly and make sure the ribbon cables are seated correctly. My 2 have to locking connections but the newest ones don't. there is a strain relief that I would use if I purchased a newer model to avoid that issue.
Love this video of upgrades. Liked and subscribed to your channel. Keep the good vids coming. One question, what orientation did you print the Complete Extruder cover fan relocation? supports also i assume?
Just had a few post in FB today where the wires got broken over time even with the relief. I wound up adding a cable chain and mounting to rear hole of case. or you could add some PTFE tubing inside the wrap to keep it from getting pulled. Set a few people back with having min temp errors from the wires being broken . but safety 3rd I always say ;)
@@Sgt.Taz3D haha that's right! Just got my sw-x1 the other day and I'm taking it apart to replace the electronics with skr and tft35.. any tips with the firmware part? Doing the research on all that now, I've flashed marlin for my other printers before but never fof a brand new board

What filament color are you using? I'm trying to find the color that matches the Sidewinder. Thanks
Closest I've gotten to the color is Ttyt3D Turquoise silk

Yes used supports (everywhere) Face down . this will add support for the mount holes nicely.
