For 150k you can pretty well buy any semi truck either day cab 2 axle or sleeper with a 13L or 15L motor with air ride spec’s from factory.
You could, but it costs more to maintain.
And not even close to buy any semi. They are 300 to 500k new now. Also insurance averages 3 to 5k per month on them not including maintenance.

LOVE Ram's 4500/5500 setup. For the life of me I'll never understand why Ram didn't compete head-on with Ford on the F450. Ram's turning radius is even tighter than the Ford, making RV'ing/long trailering a breeze.
The past couple of years I feel like Ram is literally trying not to sell trucks🤷♂️
It's because of the front end on Rams. They just don't hold up as well.

That truck was awesome. If I was rich instead of so good looking I’d order me a Silverado 5500 or 6500 and get it set up just like that. Lol.
Evan after paying for the full Kelderman system you can get a 5500 for a lot less then what a RAM 3500 LIMITED or the 3500HD High Country. Now if you go with a Aluminum sport chassis or utility bed for the rear it could be a little more then a High Country but still less then what I'm seeing what they are asking for the Limited with either the Ram or Ford. I like my standard Steel bed. If I need to modify it for new boxes or equipment later on it's much easer to work with. Just put a good coating on it to seal it from rusting.

Just bought a Ram 5500, will be adding the Kelderman air ride rear suspension and then a Norstar SD bed. Not quite as beautiful as the Luxe bed but very functional and less expensive.
Do you think the $11k additional for liquid spring can be justified..?

I like truck campers but 3500's don't have the payload to carry big ones. So I have to upgrade. People say I should go gas and perhaps I will. I know my 350 dually, has more payload than a 450 Ford. I really like my 3500, quad cab 4x4 diesel but the payload is 5280, I think. Anyway hard to trade my truck in it's NICE. GREAT video, I always love this guys input. I trust him and I believe he don't twist the numbers. IMPORTANT!
Move up to a 550 or 5500!! Prices are comparable to 3500 and payload is MUCH HIGHER!!! I love my International CV 515 ( basically a Chevy Silverado 5500).
@@philborchelt5396 Run away roses has a youtube channel and bought many truck campers and a few trucks. They said insurance on a 550 is very high. My 3500 hauls my Northern lite 10.2, just find but Host is my the truck camper I would like to check into. . At least I think, sometimes bigger isn't better.. I'm old and just about too late for this game of camping. We have used truck campers for 20 years and FOR US, well it's the only way to travel. Why? Well we like to go, we truly rarely spend anytime anywhere long. Going around Key West in a fully functional truck camper was a great joy, then zooming through my old neighborhood, Miami Beach, you simply can't do that in a 5th wheel or travel trailer.
Hi Bill, I replaced my 2007 Ram with the 2020 International CV 515. My insurance went up by roughly $200/year!!!! I was stunned it wasn’t higher. Progressive!! I had to get a commercial policy due to the truck’s size but it was very affordable!! I just spent the winter fishing in the Everglades and the lower Keys!!! Now on to Colorado, Montana, and Idaho for a summer of fly fishing!!
@@philborchelt5396 Thanks, for now I'll use my 3500 for now, with my Northern lite. I have State Farm and just switch to them. YES, I'm sure Progressive is cheaper. Oddly enough State Farm didn't go up on my insurance adding a 70 thousand dollar truck camper. That's odd and worries me. They said they didn't know how to insure it and will just think of it as part of the truck. I should check more into this. Now I do carry a million dollar umbrella policy. So I'm we need to compare apples to apples. Geico was great when we had an accident 4 years ago but slowly not wanting to insure us, even though I never had an accident. My wife rarely drives after hers. Anyway thanks for responding.

This is the truck that guy whose frame broke recently on social media with the ram 3500.
Adding this type of air ride on a ram 5500 with the max tow package does it reduce the max towing or is it the same ??

You cannot get one in that lol ford is the only one with high output, up to 450.

Liquid Spring is way better than Kelderman. Kelderman is for clowns that want a 10 inch lift.
Liquid Spring is also...wayyy more dinero.
Do you have any videos of your set up? I haven’t heard much about liquid Springs.
Still why would you buy a damn 4 door and reduce the towing and payload so much on these trucks , been seeing too many these long truck frames snapped in half because, they thought there payload was max, payload is only max on a 2 door with gas engine
If you're pulling a truck camper and a boat you have to have the 5500 and you might want to bring a family
