- I have had so many questions since my last video about My Mommy and Me sublimation sweatshirts so I thought I would do a quick WASH TEST to show you my results and answer the questions: Can you sublimate a 50/50 Sweatshirt? What does it look like after it is washed?
Watch and see my results!

Love the Gildan brand shirts and sweatshirts. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on your wash/drying experience.
I love you so much for this! I've been looking for something like this! I've been wanting to invest in 50/50 but wasn't sure how the sublimation would take, and I was scared to lose money! Thank You a Million times over!
Thank you so much for doing the wash test! They held up sooo well! Looks great!! ☺️
Yay!!! You are so welcome!!!
Thank you!!! I needed this video!

Thank You!!
You're welcome!
Hi wowvthats great what about the gilden t shirts that is 50 percent poly ?
Great tutorial! What sublimation ink do you use, please?
This has me wondering if the transfers are holding up because of the heavier material compared to t shirts. Does anyone know if the fabric weight makes a difference?
I sublimate 50/50 blends all the time and they hold up great with little to no fading at all. Not sure why other's have problems. Maybe we're just lucky 😀
I am thinking of storting a sublimation buisness. The only big problem I have is that I don't want to use 100% polyster.
My own t shirts that I bought are 50/50, but the style isnt super detailed / realistic but look very nice on their own.
So can i presume I can so a 50/50 for my clothing line?
@@Imyourmoose I sell a bunch of gildan 50/50 sweatshirts. I recommend the light colored and heather ones as they tend to hold ink better after the first wash. The only issue would be to sublimate on darker colors like green/indigo/purple etc. because the heat press can leave a rectangle scorch mark, most likely due to the dye used on the shirt and polyester scorching at high temps.
What sublimation ink do you use?!
What brand of ink do you use to sublimate?
I order gildan g800 shirts in graphite heather will it be good for sublimation
What brand of heat transfer paper do you recommend when using blend tshirts?
I love you for this video! Thank you- do you ever use PolyTPro sprays on these?
I have not! Have you?
What sub paper did you use
Sorry it might be a dumb question but did you wash them with hot water or cold?
Thank you so much for the video it’s exactly what I was looking for!
I love the “I try to treat the things like I think the customers would” 🤣 I don’t take any special treatment to anything of mine that I make either.
Haha 😂 i just want to know what it looks like worst case scenario aka the way I do my laundry!!!! Haha

What time/temp do you use? Mine are burning at 400° F/60 seconds. I’ve lowered to 375/50 seconds and I’m not sure I’m happy with it still. Haven’t had a problem with shirts just these sweatshirts :(
Thanks for the wash demo.
Did the red fade or bleed?
Thanks again!
I showed at the end! It was a tiny tiny bit of fading of the red, but still looked amazing!!! No bleeding!!!
Hi Ashley! Thank you so much for doing this video!!! I’ve been so excited to sublimate on these! I did do it on a white Gildan sweatshirt and I noticed tiny tiny little blue spots on the parts that were in the heat press almost like a couple individual fibers spread out throughout the sweatshirt had invisible ink on them before pressing and then showed up blue. Have you encountered this and know how I can stop it from happening? It’s so tiny but it bugs me!
Thank you again I just love these!
Yes 👍 dreaded blue dots!!! I lint roll and lint roll and when I think it’s enough I lint roll some more ! I still will get occasional blue dots but just lint roll like crazy before your press and that should take care it!
Pilling?
question .....How long and what temperature do you press on for 50/50? Mine always looks a little faded.
I do 400 for 60 seconds! I use hydrogen peroxide mist if it gets scorched!
Wait what? Hydrogen peroxide mist? I’ve never heard to do this can you elaborate
Do I press for 60 sec @ 400 for these, or will it scorch?
Wondering the same thing.
Can you sublimate on gilden %100 cotton shirts ?
No! You need polyester shirts! the higher the polyester count the longer lasting/brighter the ink!
Hi. I just subbed on a white 50/50 like yours. I also have the same press but it shows a square almost like a burn mark the square of the press. Any suggestions? I even did 380 for 60 😢
maybe the heat press pressure was hard , just do a medium pressure
