  • I have had so many questions since my last video about My Mommy and Me sublimation sweatshirts so I thought I would do a quick WASH TEST to show you my results and answer the questions: Can you sublimate a 50/50 Sweatshirt? What does it look like after it is washed?
    Watch and see my results!

    I love you so much for this! I've been looking for something like this! I've been wanting to invest in 50/50 but wasn't sure how the sublimation would take, and I was scared to lose money! Thank You a Million times over!

    This has me wondering if the transfers are holding up because of the heavier material compared to t shirts. Does anyone know if the fabric weight makes a difference?

    I sublimate 50/50 blends all the time and they hold up great with little to no fading at all. Not sure why other's have problems. Maybe we're just lucky 😀

      I am thinking of storting a sublimation buisness. The only big problem I have is that I don't want to use 100% polyster.
      My own t shirts that I bought are 50/50, but the style isnt super detailed / realistic but look very nice on their own.
      So can i presume I can so a 50/50 for my clothing line?

      @@Imyourmoose I sell a bunch of gildan 50/50 sweatshirts. I recommend the light colored and heather ones as they tend to hold ink better after the first wash. The only issue would be to sublimate on darker colors like green/indigo/purple etc. because the heat press can leave a rectangle scorch mark, most likely due to the dye used on the shirt and polyester scorching at high temps.

    What time/temp do you use? Mine are burning at 400° F/60 seconds. I’ve lowered to 375/50 seconds and I’m not sure I’m happy with it still. Haven’t had a problem with shirts just these sweatshirts :(

    Hi Ashley! Thank you so much for doing this video!!! I’ve been so excited to sublimate on these! I did do it on a white Gildan sweatshirt and I noticed tiny tiny little blue spots on the parts that were in the heat press almost like a couple individual fibers spread out throughout the sweatshirt had invisible ink on them before pressing and then showed up blue. Have you encountered this and know how I can stop it from happening? It’s so tiny but it bugs me!
    Thank you again I just love these!

    • @TheMonogramMompreneur
      @TheMonogramMompreneur  2 года назад +2

      Yes 👍 dreaded blue dots!!! I lint roll and lint roll and when I think it’s enough I lint roll some more ! I still will get occasional blue dots but just lint roll like crazy before your press and that should take care it!

    • @TheMonogramMompreneur

      No! You need polyester shirts! the higher the polyester count the longer lasting/brighter the ink!

    Hi. I just subbed on a white 50/50 like yours. I also have the same press but it shows a square almost like a burn mark the square of the press. Any suggestions? I even did 380 for 60 😢

      @Wowcoolcraftwithestep Год назад +2

      maybe the heat press pressure was hard , just do a medium pressure
