my issue with cricut branded things are the cost...if you do it as a business too sell the items are too costly to make much profit, lets be honest there is only so much money people will pay for a t-shirt with a image on it that is from someone who is not a big worldwide name
not really they are literally always on sale on the cricut website for 4.99 and Michael's price matches. Not to mention a lot of my orders are rushed and i pass the cost to the customer.
I sublimated on a 94 Poly / 6 Spandex on 385 for 45 seconds, using parchment paper inside the shirt and on top, and still got the scorched square.... ??? Wondering how you had no scorching at 400 for 60 seconds?!!
i hate using my heatpress it smells way fishy lol, it is the silicon heat matts they stink horrid. because i do not use it often as i just make a few things for myself or to sell so when the mats are cooled i actually take them off and wrap cling flim or as you would say plastic wrap around them because they smell so much
I have a couple of Obey shirts that I bought about 12 years ago... they're 50/50 poly/cotton heather-grey. Still look new... I legit think it's the best blend out there. Feels great, fits/wears great. No stretched out collar... maybe they're just miracle shirts, idk. I'm definitely going to try to incorporate that into my business.
Very helpful video. Clearly the cricut T-shirt has more long lasting quality and sustainability as evident in your test case in the video. Really appreciate the comparisons with the Walmart shirts.
You got that wrong, the tri blend shirts are for the vintage look! They are actually highly liked. For vintage prints you need lower polyester to get that grunge look. greetings from germany
Black will be a 100% no go. Remember sublimation printers don’t print in white. Gray depending on the shade of it will be similar 40% will look super washed out.
Wow I love this video. I love that you keep it real.... I just started using sublimation transfers and read a lot on this and watched a lot of videos. From that I was under the impression that I could only use 100% polyester. So I spent a lot of money on purchasing 100% polyester tee shirts on line. The shipping cost are crazy if you are not buying in bulk. I have the Cricut maker and I was in Michael's some time back and saw the Cricut infusible ink shirts on sale and wondered if I could use them in place of the 100% polyester shirts. I bought 4 to keep on hand to try them out. I hadn't done that yet. Now that I have watched your video...I will certainly use them today. Thank you so much . This is a very informative video...Love that you showed the tee shirts after washing them.
you can definitely use poly cotton blends. Of course with sublimation the higher the polyester count the better. Quick tip: always check the cricut website for sales on the infusable ink stuff. Michaels price matches their website. Thank you for watching!
I see that the cricut T shirt turns out so well. Is it any shirt that has 95% polyester and 5% spandex would turn out like that? Also, can we just print from an inkjet printer or do we need an actual sublimation printer? Thanks in advance (:
Not polyester unfortunately. Cricut has been pretty consistent on keeping their shirts at the $5-7 price and Michael’s price matches their site. Anything cheaper and your in see through world (thin polyester shirts).
@@Lumedia thank you! I’m finding that the cheapest comes from over seas. Then your paying very high shipping cost, which defeats the purpose. Thank you for the reply 😊
So another words I’ve been watching other videos plus years the easiest way to explain it polyester is the way to go no cotton cause I noticed they do come out Dollar and when you wash them it’s even more worse so money out the pocket of a polyester 100 is on the way
Hey whats up! I’ve watched your videos but idk if i don’t pay enough attention but what temperature you have the heat press machine set up at? Keep it up i like how you keep everything simple congrats on you channel..
@@Lumedia So more black on the image 60 seconds? did my first print test.. 200c 30 seconds.. the colors rubs off with your fingers.. (image is black and red mostly) 100% Cotton Gildan
$7 for a poly shirt? i bought an eco tank 3710 and all the supplies but used printiful while setting up and my cost per unit is not much less to print myself. So I am going to stick with printiful for web orders and do sublimation on the spot for testing and in person orders
now mugs.. printiful has 12 oz mugs for $10 + $4 shipping. i bought 24 - 15oz mugs for @70 bux so 3 bucks a pop. transfers 12 cents each and a nickel worth of ink. im already $7 less production cost and the only question is can i mix and match order vendors and include myself as vendor of the mugs since the markup is 300% on production cost. riddle me that one batman 😎🤘
I have a cricut print and cut video. Go watch that. Only difference is that when you send the image to be printed select your sawgrass in the cricut software.
I’ve never used a sawgrass. So I have no argument there. But that’s also like comparing a Honda to a Lexus. Both are probably reliable and one rides a bit smoother. But the cost difference is significant lol.
Can I use sublimation paper on a wide format printer? Or only the printer you have ? That printer is 666 and I can’t afford it right now sadly. But the other printer is wide format and has good reviews. Do you think that would be ok for that type of paper?

My blacks looks hella faded! 60\40 blend. Before wash. Help
Is sublimation noticeable better than using a normal printer w transfer paper
Sublimation is a better option in my opinion but only really works on light garments.

Does the circut shirt feel like cotton?
No it feels like polyester for sure. But it’s a good thickness not see through.
how long do u sublimate for because my t shirts been getting scorched
55 seconds
Ahaha that happen a few times to mirror your image
i like this video.!!!!

Total beginner, why do have scorch or press marks from my machine. I also used high temp 190 for 90sec is the timing too long
You didn't show the George after the wash lol!
Right I was waiting for that one🤦♂️
I was waiting for it also because I just bought about 200 George brand shirts. Found them for $2 each
How did you not burn those shirts with no cover sheet. Also I get tiny ink dots on my shirts after pressing, I don't know where they come from

Like I always say there is a use for everything! Thank you for that insight!
Kannst du mir ein gutes T-shirt mit hohen Polyester Anteil empfehlen? :)
Did I miss the washed George brand shirts?
I love the video but the music is distracting. You don't need it and it takes away from you
Tremendous video, very informative. Any idea how 60% cotton and 40% Poly could turn out in black and gray shirts? Next Level in my situation.

Excellent excellent tutorial 👍🏻👍🏻 very good very nice thank you Bro...!!!
Thank you!! 🙂🙂🙂
Which fabric is best for sublimation print????? Plzz help me bro
100% Polyester is the best. But you can use blends just fine like I show in the video.
Hello. Great video & tips. Since making this video a year ago, have you found cheaper tees anywhere?
Not polyester unfortunately. Cricut has been pretty consistent on keeping their shirts at the $5-7 price and Michael’s price matches their site. Anything cheaper and your in see through world (thin polyester shirts).

cricut shirts are on sale for $4.00 each on their site now
Correct!!! And all major craft stores will price match.
How do u washed by itself I did one 65% polyester and recycled polyester but mine had ink speard my first time I washed a shirt , what did I do wrong
Did you use sublimation ink?
Yes cosmos ink and sublimation paper the one with Big A , is there any advise how to washed the shirts so the ink won't smeard
Or how long I have to wait to do the first wash? Thank u
Same thing happened to me. 65% poly 35% cotton
Had ink stains on it after I washed it.
My guy used Cricut mat don’t try this at home. 😒
Haha!!! I do say not to use it. I just couldn’t find my Teflon pillows or shirt insert.
Lumedia you aint got to explain i know how you get down it was spare of the moment.
what do you mean by mirror your image? excuse my ignorance
It’s like flipping it the opposite way. So when you look at it it looks backwards but when it transfer it will be facing the correct way.
Wen you sublimate dose it wash off
On higher count polyester shirts no it will not. On blends it will fade a bit. But it won’t fully wash out.
Hey whats up! I’ve watched your videos but idk if i don’t pay enough attention but what temperature you have the heat press machine set up at? Keep it up i like how you keep everything simple congrats on you channel..
I say it like twice LOL. Temp is 400f (204c) and 45-60sec depending on how much black is in the image!

@@herbiemrpogi you can't sub 100% cotton. It will not take the ink which is why it will rub off.
where do you find your designs at ??

Which tshirt brand and model is the best or popular for sublimation ?

Cricut shirts are great but the sizes run very small
I think you gave away your pillows, that's why you cant find them :D

you need sublimation liquid for 100% cotton or anything that has more cotton in it than any other fabric
Awesome video helped out a lot appreciate the content
Thanks for watching!
I'd like to know the washability ( after like 30 washes) of the 50-60% blends. Anyone know? Does it fade?
I know 100% cotton will fade after the first wash
Very well done. Great comparisons.
Thank you!! 😁
Great info tip. Thanks

On the 90% polyester it’s pretty permanent. The other two definitely fade a bit after a wash or two but are also permanent.
