How to Make Duet Videos on TikTok

To begin, open TikTok and find the video you’d like to duet with. Then, tap the Share icon on the right. In the menu that appears, select Duet. This will launch the TikTok camera with all the usual tools and options, but the video you’ve selected to duet with will appear on the right side of the screen, and your camera’s view will be displayed on the left. If you tap Layout on the right, you can change the arrangement of your video and the one you’re duetting with. Tap Switch to move your video to the right and the original to the left. The other options include React, Top & Bottom, and 3 Screens. When you’re ready to begin recording, hold down the record button as normal. As you record your portion of the duet, the original video you’re duetting with will play on your screen. This way you can easily react to or keep up with the video that will play alongside yours. When you’re done recording, edit your TikTok with effects, text, and any other changes as you see fit. When you’re happy with how it looks, you can move on to posting. Your caption will be pre-filled with “#duet with” and the username of the person who posted the original video. This cannot be removed or edited, but you can add additional text, hashtags, and mentions if you like. When you’re done, tap Post to share it.
