yeah not only did Kya and Bumi feel neglected by their dad but Tenzin felt enormous pressure on his shoulders as well, pressure that would only be somewhat lifted when he and Pema had children
Aang couldn't spend more time with Kya and Bumi, sadly. Tenzin was also the last airbender, so Aang had to properly teach him everything he knew, which took time. It took Tenzin 5 more years to become an airbending master (at 17yo) compared to Aang (at 12yo). Also, Aang's health degraded drastically over time, given his 100 years spent in Avatar state in the iceberg. You also have to take into account how many years Aang was actually able to teach Tenzin, he was probably in his mid 30's when he had Tenzin and Aang lived only to 66. As someone said, it's realistic for Aang to give almost all of his time in order to teach Tenzin and have an actual legacy continued.
I am surprised to see the comic 'Clearing the Air' in this bending evolution video. I think they waited for this comic to be released, so that they could add more info.
Actually. Zaheer has been studying and "training" for years. While it took weeks for the other air benders to get control, Zaheer had full control when he found out he had airbending. So he could be considered a master without tattoos

@@TallyingTines that would be super cool. You could argue Tenzin's children could potentially inherit any of the 4 elements, since Tenzin is half watertribe half airnomad, and Pema is from Earth kingdom decent but likely also has fire nation in her since Jinora's eyes are brown. However, it is known that everyone born in the air nation is a bender due to their spiritual connectedness, so it makes sense that Tenzin's children are all airbenders since he is an airbender and Pema is a nonbender. Would be cool to see though!
I don't think that "agressive" is the correct word. I would say "able to do the necessary to protect", because even the world in dangerous, Aang never fight against his opponents to knock out them, but Tenzin was able to do this to protect Korra and his Family.
He is the best airbender to ever live considering he learned to fly unassisted, one of the most powerful skills there is. You don't see tenzin flying around like that
If you look at Zaheer's movement it's much more militaristic compared to Tenzin, like I think Zaheers Airbendering was based more on MMA than traditional airbending form
Yeah I agree especially without using the staff Zaheers movements seem more “fixed” instead of spiral like Tenzin teaches Korra. But I guess that makes sense. Zaheer studied air nomad culture & philosophy not necessarily air bending since he wasn’t originally a bender so he improvised
Yeah, tenzin didn't had his tattoos at 17 while aang had them when he was 12 but tenzin's pace was the common one. Aang was the youngest airbender to become a master and get his tatoos in history by a lot
Calling Zaheer an Airbending Master is a bit of a stretch. Tenzin is a Master and Zaheer is more of Adept then Master. It’s just the way he uses his Airbending on other benders in such an offense heavy way that it caught others off guard.
I'd regard Zaheer as a prodigy. His prior understanding of the movements and the philosophies made airbending come easy to him. Given some more years perhaps he could have been the best airbender. But the fight with Tenzin really shows what a 'master' brings to the table. Talent can only take you so far against decades of dedicated practice.
Zaheer wasn't a master, he just knew how to use airbending properly. Besides, a master airbender needs to have the tattoos to be an official master airbender

If P’Li didn’t help Tenzin would’ve smoked the other 3 in the red lotus

I am surprised to see the comic 'Clearing the Air' in this bending evolution video. I think they waited for this comic to be released, so that they could add more info.
Most likely
That explained where the comic came from.
Im glad they included it, they shouldve mentioned where the comic was from so everyone would stop asking for it though
I hate that comic

6:51 Tenzin let him get like 3 hits in before telling him to stop
He deserve it
This is my first time I see tenzin in his teenage years and he didn't get a tattoo This was weird
Most airbenders don't get their tattoos as early as Aang and Jinora did
True
8:04 there's only one master, Zaheer just has talent, he lacks the years of training Tenzin has
Actually. Zaheer has been studying and "training" for years. While it took weeks for the other air benders to get control, Zaheer had full control when he found out he had airbending. So he could be considered a master without tattoos
6:34 is still one of the best moments in the entire show honestly its never failed to get a laugh outta me
Lets be honest Kai is pretty much doing what Aang would do without his airbending morals as a kid

If zaheer play fair, tenzin will beat him for sure
But seeing he can beat minghua, ghazan, and zaheer at once shows that he is really powerful
Tbh at that point all three were hardly trying, they was just trying get Tenzin to surrender and make him tell where Korra is. If they was serious both Ming and Ghazan would of attacked instantly with full power.

I love how he Wasn’t the perfect teacher. He had a lot to give but he had a lot to learn as well. @@MatLPlaysVoDs yes she did
I'd really love to see Rohan becoming a waterbender, inheriting Katara's genes
@@TallyingTines that would be super cool. You could argue Tenzin's children could potentially inherit any of the 4 elements, since Tenzin is half watertribe half airnomad, and Pema is from Earth kingdom decent but likely also has fire nation in her since Jinora's eyes are brown. However, it is known that everyone born in the air nation is a bender due to their spiritual connectedness, so it makes sense that Tenzin's children are all airbenders since he is an airbender and Pema is a nonbender. Would be cool to see though!
Tenzin is like Aang, but more aggressive. Oh and he isn't the avatar

You don't see tenzin flying around like that
The dislikes are of those peoples who dont like tenzin's six pax😂
And then Jinora came along and beat him by a year 💀

9:02 I just wish they made this 1v3 fight a little longer. I wanted to see Tenzin get some more hits in before P'li got involved.
8:40 facts ppl airbending is dangerous it took 3 guys to beat an airbending master
Being a master to the level of tenzin of any of the 4 elements is dangerous.
He's gonna start ranting about Lemons any second now.
@@DivingDog0 agreed. Def a prodigy and would easily reach master level in a few years. But at the time of the series he wasnt yet.
Without doubt, Tenzin really gets to the heart of everyone as a great master with a powerful determination
Zaheer wasn't a master, he just knew how to use airbending properly. Besides, a master airbender needs to have the tattoos to be an official master airbender
He always reminds me of young Aang

Watching him use the tried and true air bending methods against Zaheer’s fighting style was one of the best scenes in the show
Im sure it's difficult to learn only from one master. Aang had several air bending masters to teach him air nomad philosophy and air bending.
I would love to see an Azula version born in the air nation, or I would love an episode where the air nation becomes evil like the fore nation.
The closest we have to that is Avatar Kyoshi’s mother. She was an Air Nomad until she fell in love with a member of the Avatar universe’s equivalent to the mafia, started her own gang with him and abandoned her child in some town in the Earth Kingdom.
