    Dr. Barnard has a video on obesity, and people started getting larger when fast food joints started popping up. Cheese also has a big effect. My fibromyalgia (that I suffered from for 10 years) disappeared within a week when I went vegan. I had been vegetarian for 28 years and cheese was a big part of what I ate every day. Think my doctor told me that dairy causes inflammation? Nope, she just gave me rx's.

    • @Alexander-qy7yz
      @Alexander-qy7yz Год назад +1

      Fibromyalgia disappearing in just one week? That’s quick. Did you introduce cheese again in your diet to see if it resurfaced? I think I might be getting some acne from eggs but it’s not easy to be sure they are the cause, so I remove and reintroduce them to see if the results are being replicated. Otherwise I might be skipping eggs when the cause is something entirely different

      "people started getting larger when fast food joints started popping up" - This observation is what is known as time correlation. You have probably heard that correlation is not causation. That aphorism may be trite at this point, but it is true so keep it in mind.
      "My fibromyalgia (that I suffered from for 10 years) disappeared within a week when I went vegan." - This is also time correlation, as well as being a personal anecdote that is vulnerable to all sorts of subjective bias. Obviously do whatever you feel works for you, but bear in mind that your experience doesn't by itself establish efficacy for anyone else.

    • @DrReginaldFinleySr
      @DrReginaldFinleySr Год назад +1

      Hi Rhonda, exactly. I always found it odd when 'experts' would state that they didn't know what caused fibromyalgia; yet, they knew that inflammation was involved. Well, duh. Reduce the inflammation. The major causes of inflammation are diet, disease, and environmental. Diet can greatly mitigate disease and environmental impacts, and thus, reduce inflammation. It's a no-brainer you'd think; but alas, so many medical professionals are just either clueless about the 'immediate' impacts of diet or they have simply given up and don't believe that people can change.

    It seems like he doesn't understand that the obesity epidemic was not a result of the food pyramid because most people who are obese don't follow the food pyramid in their dietary choices. Most people, in my experience, obese or not didn't even follow the food pyramid. Most people just eat what tastes good and don't follow any sort of strategy when it comes to deciding what they want to eat other than what they are craving. Also interesting is how an academic like him still fails hard at backing up his claims with actual evidence. We're just supposed to trust him and not question it. At least the government that he decries has the decency to cite research as to why things like the food pyramid are the way they are.

Methane-causing bacteria grow on Grass, and release the same total amount of Methane, which happens to be WHY grass-fed beef releases more methane ... you need to kill all the grass to reduce Methane emissions - in which case, Beef isn't the problem (Corn fed beef release 3x less Methane), its grass.

That is all in the past with mechanization and assembly lines. Now it is low paying, fast paced, dangerous and disease ridden. Not to mention most people working in the slaughter industry have basically zero other options to make money, so it’s not really a “choice” to do that work.
