sadly no. they are priced nicely but i can't think of a reason why they would not have auto-pause or volume control. how exactly would that be cost cutting.
11:35 I can't begin to tell you how appreciative I am of the fact that you did that kind of irl phone call testing for these buds, it was exactly what I always want reviewers of these types of devices to do, and now it made it extremely easy to know whether I'd want to buy these or not. Thank you for this! :)
@hellsingXXX No, you are mistaken. Almost all reviewers do an inside simulated microphone testing, which is nothing like the real life scenarios. A microphone that is good during a simulated busy store test, or construction test, in real life might turn out to be absolutely crap compared to what the simulated testing ended up with. This is why I have always wanted more reviewers to actually go out there in the real world when doing the microphone testing, that way you get an accurate understanding and insight of the microphone quality.
I keep forgetting that OnePlus has been rather consistent with releasing wireless earbuds. Although I am a bit surprised that noise canceling is even an option at $60.
Noise cancellation is just software. And it's not by any means a new piece of software to develop. So anc is just a feature that gets added for cheap and gets used as a feature to pump margin.
@@mcslender2965 you just need more than one mic, but having more than one does improve the anc quality. They don't have to be dedicated to anc, they can pass through one mic through to your phone while using both for doing the anc calculations, however it could increase latency which is why higher end anc headphones will dedicate mics specifically for anc.
@@mcslender2965 Yeah I'm pretty sure that's how it works, "just add ANC software" wouldn't work because how would the software know how to cancel noises without the hardware?
at what price point is noise cancelling an option for Apple? 🤔 i saw only pro has it. while what price point is it for gaming headsets? or even damn free software? 🤔( should be obvious)
The bass boost was almost entirely tucked below 200 Hz which means it wont be that muddy bass that other consumer products are plagued with, it'll have a minimal effect on vocals and intruments that have harmonics in that region. It's also pretty easy to EQ down a bit
The call quality was great for a windy parking lot. I like that you included that in the testing, would it be possible to subject the microphones to some form of labs testing as well (test based on a typical voice pattern under 20km/hr winds generated by a fan?)
thanks for clearly labeling the target curve for this one. it`s great to see that you are improving the information presented in your lab results. only caveat would be that a link to a description of how you reached this target line would be great. keep up the good work! also thanks.
I got an original pair of one plus nord buds after your first video that still work well, i might eventually pick these up as an upgrade, the first iteration is amazing and i have no regrets getting them.
After using the first version of these earplugs i found them great the mics were good and tbh never had to use them on full volume like the max i ever went was 45 percent . These seem great excited to get the new version asap
There's a notification about a firmware update available visible on the phone around 8:55 … not sure if/how it changes the device's performance/features though.
8:17 that wording suggests to me that the feature is normalizing the bass frequencies before adding a minor amplification so that it doesn't otherwise distort incoming bass that's already near peaking in the recording.
I find that one aspect not tested and not mentioned in most products is multi-device connectivity. Some cheap headphones, would allow you to have them connected to your laptop and your phone. Imagine at work/office, you want to listen to music from phone but also switch to them when you get a teams call on the laptop. And vice versa, you listen to music from laptop and someone calls you. There are some headphones who connect to both devices and the one that provides audio takes over. For this is seemless experience. But then there are headphones that block the bluetooth connection from the 2nd devioce until you actively disconnect them from the 1st, which makes it a hassle to switch. I would recommend adding this to your review process. I guess from the spec sheet and James breefly discussing the topic, it is supported. But the question is how does it change between devices without the help of touch gestures?
I'd really like to see you guys compare these to something like the EarFun Air Pro 3 or the EarFun Free Pro 2. I have absolutely been a fan of EarFun for a couple of years now as they have from my perspective delivered consistently. They are certainly a less known company but I've been pleasantly surprised.
You guys should check out the Oledance Open Ear headphones. They aren't for everyone but addressed basically everything I emailed Bose about improving for a Gen 2 Open Sports. Unfortunately my Open Sports didn't survive the washing machine.
Guys... pls do the review of Buds Z2. The Oneplus Buds Z were such a strong competitor, even punching above its weight class in some areas. I'd love to see a review of the new Z2 from you guys :D
Hey man, just curious, James did mention that there no volume control for these but he didnt check the triple tap option? Does triple tap have volume control? The double tap didnt have it for sure. Just wanted to know or they missed that part........ Thanks anyways
@@advaitpathak4330 Hi mate. I returned mine and I got a refund and I ordered the Nord Buds 3 Pro. Because there was still time after I noticed the announcement of the Nord Buds 3 Pro. I didn't try the triple tap but if I compared back with the OnePlus Buds Z2 if you remember, the triple tap was working as backwards (previous track) in music while the double tap was working as forward (next track). So I am afraid there is no volume control. Even when you customize the taps, I don't remember an option about volume control.
@@advaitpathak4330Hi again mate. Just received the Nord Buds 3 Pro and I confirm they do have a volume control option. Also for that price the the sound and bass quality in music which I tried so far as well as the ANC, are better than I expected.
Im gonna get the second gen because i lost my first gen buds, and ive gotta say the second gen box is way cheaper and worse compared to the first gen. First gen box feels and looks more premium.
I've been looking for a quality upgrade to my sound core Liberty Air 2 pros that doesn't cost a left nut to get. And I also enjoy bass heavy music so I'm glad there's good bass quality.
My favorite below $100 earbud, I actually got for $30 with discount. It's the avantree tw106. I use it when I hike or travel, as it has 120hrs(7hrs on buds and 113 charging case). You can basically use it 4hrs a day for a month before charging it. It's also IPX7, so works even when raining. So because of that, I have a very high standard for $100 and high with my earbuds/headset. I mean if a sub $50 earbuds can deliver that much feature and quality with average or above average sound, the tier priced one should be able to do it too.
I’m happy it has no auto pause, I have previous version as a secondary when AirPods Pro is charging or something and one plus auto pause was worst ever seen, if I’m sleeping it randomly pauses, if you eat it randomly pauses, it’s better to not have it than have like they did before, there not many earbuds that do auto pause well, when it doesn’t pause 50 times a day randomly and then you are so annoyed you want to throw them out. So I’m happy they get rid of it.
Do they support USB PD for faat charging? >OnePlus Nord Buds 2 can be charged using a standard adapter. Requires 5VDC 0.9A adapter or higher. The actual performance experienced by users may vary based on the specific charging environment conditions. Has me worried.
I have a pair that the two device, laptop/phone pairing and auto switch works great. Earbay BT786-L, they are over head, but work great. Also the 28 hour of use charge is amazing. I use them at work, and charge them once a week or so, and I'm on the phone or Teams on the laptop allot.
Reminder that lately their buds z2 have been on discount for $60 on their shop, which, if I understand correctly, are a straight upgrade from the nord buds 2.
seems fine, not a fan of the lack of codecs .. its a 5.3 bud so it should support LC3 .. they could have given it at least LHDC support even if thats very limited by the number of phones supported .. but at least the costs arent as high as LDAC .. Honestly Aptx is still pretty good even if it feels like its market share is diminishing ...

I need a different pair cause every pair of AirPods I have had gets problems with holding a charge literally like a few months max of semi-regular use like maybe 3 or 4 times a week for about. 35 minutes at a time and the cases just drains the earbuds and the case doesn't hold a charge and I've had this most recent pair for literally just shy of 3 months 😑
You should review the "creative outlier pro". They are the ones I have now, 15 hours of battery life (they are a bit chunky) and the case has 3 more charges! They have ANC, although not great but it helps in an airplane. They are comfortable for me, no problems at all and they don´t feel they are going to fall or anything. The audio quality is not great but not bad either. And they have a "low latency mode" that synchronize audio and video with the laptop, phone... whatever you have around.
