  • IN THIS VIDEO YOU WILL LEARN HOW TO DIAGNOSE IF YOUR EGR COOLER OR HEAD GASKETS OR A COMINATION OF BOTH ARE LEAKING ON YOUR 6.0 POWERSTROKE.
    STEP 1 START THE TRUCK
    STEP 2 RUN A HOSE FROM THE DEGAS BOTTLE INTO A CLEAR COTAINER OF WATER
    STEP 3 WATCH THE BUBBLES TILL THEY STABALIZE
    STEP 4 UNPLUG THE VVT ACTUATOR ON THE TURBO AND SE IF BUBBLES CHANGE. IF THEY GO AWAY THAN ITS AN EGR COOLER, IF THEY DONT CHANGE THEN ITS HEAD GASKETS, IF THE SLOW DOWN BUT ARE STILL PRETTY FREQUENT THEN ITS A COMBINATION OF BOTH.

    Great video. Might need to change the oil filter housing cap back to the factory size. That caps to big.

    Nice! What determines a good gasket and eve test ? What bubble pattern should you see when it’s all good?

    • @screamindieselltd
      @screamindieselltd  2 года назад +1

      There should be no bubbles if the gaskets and cooler are not leaking.

    Hi, I have the same problem is smoking but I don’t see the coolant going down? any idea what it might be? Thanks

    Is there anything to unplug to get the truck to stop smoking ? Even temporary.

    • @screamindieselltd
      @screamindieselltd  Год назад +2

      No. It’s burning coolant. Its always going to smoke unless there is no coolant in it lol

    Where can I get the cap adapter, or what is the proper name for it please, so I can find it? Thank you.

      The one I use is from my pressure tester kit. But there are companies that sell the tester kits. I think bulletproof diesel and sinister diesel have them. Or look on xdp

    I got a egr code and went to replace the egr valve and noticed the soot in the intake was wet. Also noticed the coolant level was lower.
    If the egr cooler is leaking coolant, would that mean the egr cooler is ruptured and this bubble test would be able to diagnose if the egr cooler is leaking?

    • @screamindieselltd
      @screamindieselltd  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yes sir. If it’s wet in the intake then you don’t even need to do the bubble test. It’s ruptured for sure. I recommend a bulletproof diesel H core cooler if that’s the route you’re going to go with repairing it.

    So if bad head gasket… will it show milky oil on dip stick ?

    • @screamindieselltd
      @screamindieselltd  Год назад +1

      I would call a leaking oil cooler for that. I’ve never seen a milkshake in an oil pan on a diesel from a head gasket. Not to say it can’t happen though
