  • Todays video we go over one of the top best upgrades to do on your 6.0 powerstroke. The dually gets the action with a ODAWGS S2R ported intake manifold. Flowing 46% more air than the factory intake many guys have seen increased fuel economy and lower egts upwards of 200 degree drops! Not to mention the S2R is 100% emissions compliant!

😂😂 the top upgrade to a 6.0 is to sell it asap… I had one bulletproofed, took extremely good care of it and constantly things went wrong with it. Wasted countless days replacing and fixing. If it wasn’t one thing it was another. Unfortunately I’m not the only one.. everything bad you ever heard about these pieces of crap is 100% true.

It's because of the emissions they put on it and dumbasses that put a race tune in it and then try to tow 10000lb trailers up a grade and blow head gaskets then hop on the forums sitting on it. We'll the larger trucks and busses and dump trucks they put them in didn't have to have a egr and guess what they never had any problems. The 6.0 is a badass ass engine and going from a concept to reality in less than a year I'd say Navistar did one hell of a job. People don't talk shit about the 6.7 and that things has way more problems then the 6.0 and 7.3 combined. The problem is all the emissions bullshit they make them have. That's y there are no reliable diesels on the roads now days.from cars to pick ups to semis. They all break down more then they should.

@@Chevydude1982 let’s just agree to disagree. You stated nothing but opinions and feelings, no facts.
If the 6.0 is so good why didn’t navistar or ford keep the platform? Because it’s a disaster. People have made careers off of working on 6.0’s.
I’ve never met a 6.0 owner in real life that likes the engine, it’s always some guy on internet that “works on them all the time” that talks how good they are. 🤣

I put an s3r on my truck and the best piece of advice I have is install the bolts in the intake manifold while it’s still off of the truck on the bench using the intake gaskets to hold everything in place. Makes it so much easier and there’s no chance you can drop a bolt while doing it.

I went with the S3R intake, Icon aluminum heads from KDD, 1.5 turbo from KC Turbos, stage 1 cam from River City, new FoMoCo lifters, oil cooler, HPOP, LPOP, water pump, fan switch, FICUM. Switched to CAT ELC red and a coolant filter from KDD. It's a 2004 and I dumped all that air damper crap up top and it now looks like a 2005. Oh yeah, tunes from Warren. It's a beast now. Pulling a gooseneck with a 1973 Plymouth Roardrunner thru the Ozarks in 95 degree + never got more than a 8 degree delta except when the ECT drops quickly on downgrades - EOT doesn't drop as quickly. EGT's under 1100 max. Calculated 22 MPG aveage empty at 70 MPH (can't afford to fix the overhead computer now!) Whistles like an old Kenworth! 186K miles on the clock - all the crosshatching on the cylinder walls was still factory new looking. Run Rotella T6, 5W-40 and I threw in some Archoil on the 1st change. Didn't lift the cab - pulled out the front.

I had a highly recommended diesel shop in Inola, Oklahoma do the work (I live in NW Arkansas about 60 miles to the east). I'm surprised he didn't charge me extra for watching but I tried my best to keep my mouth shut most of the time. I gathered up the parts first and when I had them all together, I loaded them up in the back and took the truck in. The shop purchased a few odds and ends locally from the Ford dealer but it was mainly a labor-only deal. Cost-wise, all in, I landed at about $15K but I started with a really nice Lariat that I bought for $13.5K with 148,000 on the odometer and a blown head gasket. So the way I look at it, I have a really nice F350 Superduty for $28.5K. I wouldn't have balked at a really nice 350 SD on a dealer lot so I think I came out OK. The worst part was waiting for the heads from KDD. . . they took 6 months to arrive during COVID.

Second having a larger than stock alternator you have to space the alternator so it won’t touch the top of the manifold. That put more strain on the stock belt which might not be a big deal but made me uncomfortable.
