Holy crap, ive been a user of PS for quite some time, joined the Substance ranks just recently and this explanation of Multiply was mind blowing. Ill be eager to watch more of your videos around!
Followed every step you did but didn't work. I add the black mask > right click > add generator > metal edge wear and the mask becomes white. So no edge wear then. It sorta works only if invert the generator but it beats the purpose since I don't get the edge wear. What am I doing wrong? EDIT: It only started to work after baking so perhaps baking is necessary for it to work?
thank you for this tutorial it is helpful by the way how to make your own wood material in substance painter? well it is just out of curiosity i don't know why but i just want to try creating everything on my own, i know there are smart materials available but if i depend on that than i might not be able to understand this software completely
Hi Abraham, in youtube feed i saw today new course from flipped normals "Souls Boss" this is the thing i was talking for long time, it would be amazing course, and nothing is lost, because you would do such thing better i think and could go full process to game ready, it would be epic, as cool as idea is thier course is just highpoly and much overpriced for the techniques it covers
The tip on using multiple masks and blending them using multiply is really useful. Never thought about trying that before. Thank you for the tip
Any time! 🫶
You can also use overlay and add-subtract for this purpose
