I just became a Patreon, just a little thank you and support, thanks for sharing your journey and discoveries, so we can try to improve too. And for being positive as you do - the world needs more of that!
Found your channel on RUclips when I was looking for some motivation to do some longer races, came across your channel and thinks it’s brilliant, especially the recipes, keep up the good work :)
Love the show, i do have a small request pleeez - I have a hearing impediment so i do turn the volume up for speech but the music unhave is waaayy too loud - pls accommodate this in Ur editing 🙏🏽
Hi Ben love the videos! Im 13 and eat healthy for my main meals, however my appetite for snacks get the better of me. any advice for a healthy alternative or way around the cravings, by the way your tips have got me a 22:33 5k and a 49:22 10k, and a half marathon aiming for 1:55 is hopefully on my way soon. swithcing to raisins for a heakthuer snacks! Thanks
OOOOoooo Ben I didn't know you were also a vegan! Are you a member of the vegan runners as well? Also great video, as a vegan it's. nice to see what I should be eating for marathon training.
I really hope so your channel is my main motivation for achieving my goals!I just smashed my first half marathon and I only began my journey 3 months ago I have learnt most things form this channel so massive a thank you!
Can you do a video on vegan fueling during the race? Like Ultras if possible. I've used various bars and whole foods, but it just seems to sit in my stomach and not digest, obviously, since that stops when running so I end up feeling dizzy and bonk so early in the race...
I’m stoked if your going vegan 🌱 you will run faster now!!!! I’m a vegan runner.... but just started at 42 years. thanks for the vid.....check out vegan recovery green smoothies. I put pineapple turmeric back pepper and ginger in mine!! Soooo good to have everyday after a run! 😊🏃♀️😊🏃♀️
Suzanne johnson hey Suzanne I just started making videos and do what I eat in a day and grocery hauls, would love for you to check them out and know what you think! 😊🌱
Hi Ben, I am not a vegetarian like you, but I’m suffering with iron deficiency ( looks my body doesn’t absorbing iron well) I see you eating a lot of beens and chickpeas what is your main iron food ?
Marzena Ward there are foods that actually inhibit iron absorption like dairy, coffee and I think green tea as well. Also Vitamin C helps increase iron absorption so consume foods with higher vitamin c along with your meals. Oats and beans are my favorite sources of iron. I’ve been vegan 6 years and my levels are good according to my blood results!
You can also try cooking in cast iron cookware. Pretty much everything I cook that's not saucy/liquid or tomato-based gets cooked in a cast iron pan and my iron's never been better. Maybe try a combination of cookware and iron-rich foods?
Because of the rain?? Haha.. yes. After the second video I gave in, put my hood up and cap the other way round. And yeah, Korma.. it was the only one left in Tesco's.. and I wasn't paying the £4 they wanted for the posh branded one!! Wanted a Rogan Josh one really. Hope you're well! :-)
Probably about 3 months away. I'm designing a proper running hat, rather than just an existing cap with my logo on.. so it's taking a bit longer. Will be worth it! :-)
Why are most runners so small ,why don't most do Crossfit , lifting ,and running ,is it not possible to keep muscle mass when a runner especially if you are vegan and gluten intolerant which I am both ?
@Luis Fernandez that's when you're exercising, you burn predominantly fats for the rest of the day. And I try to base my diet 100% around a longevity standpoint. Not performance
My diet is 25-30% meat and 75/70 fruits and veggies, it’s personally what works for me. Although I don’t think he would benefit from meat only as carbs are definitely needed
Or on the other hand I’ve never wasted a onion since buying frozen.. every last bit gets used. Used to end up throwing away old onions when I bought them fresh
Thank you for all these videos Ben. Really inspiring and helpful to learn meals plant based ultra runners use. Keep up the great work.

Just got the notification Daniel 😀 thank you, very kind! All the best with your running journey and see you on Patreon! 🙌
This could be my daily menu. Just need to up the running and I’ll be a 2:26 marathoner 🙃
This is still one of my favourite videos to watch when I am struggling for ides for food.
Nice plan based chilli - and I have most of that in my pantry - so lunch tomorrow might in order!
Thanks soooo much for this! I just started training for a marathon and it's interesting to see what you eat on plant based!
I agreed 💯

LOL, love the "I'm super lazy" for buying chopped garlic in a jar, yet runs marathons. Nice one ;)
Onions in a plastic bag..... u kidding me
Nice humble brag for sure.
Lots of love 💕 and hugs 🤗 to you from India 🇮🇳
Looks good, going to try the dinner you made. Keep up the great videos!!
Thanks Brent! Let me know how it turns out. Hope you're well!
Tired the chickpea and sweet potato curry on Friday night. Beautiful. Thanks Ben!!
Hi Ben, enjoyed this video. I'm curious how many calories you would have consumed over this whole day? aware that you had a 20km run. Thanks!
Going to try a sweet potato curry. How did you cool the sweet potato once chunked? Just joined you on Strava enjoying your videos
Love the show, i do have a small request pleeez - I have a hearing impediment so i do turn the volume up for speech but the music unhave is waaayy too loud - pls accommodate this in Ur editing 🙏🏽

Great video 👍🏼
Nice meals! Oh weird question but what's the brand of your hat please? I love all urs ! haha Thank's
Hmmmm, Lots of sugar for breakfast. Try whole meal sourdough. Make your own nut milks with a nutribomb type blitzer....makes a good frothy coffee to.
I’m loving your what I eat in a days. Be interesting what your shopping list is like. Keep going such inspo 😊
Suzanne johnson hey Suzanne I just started making videos and do what I eat in a day and grocery hauls, would love for you to check them out and know what you think! 😊🌱
Awesome video, hi from NZ
Is that the AfterShokz you got around your ears? Would love to hear what you thinko about them!!
Pretty good. Use then for almost all my running listening!
Ben Parkes Thanks! Found you video about then from last year! Think I’m gonna get a pair myself! :) real fun to follow you man! Cheers! 😄

Enjoyed the video Ben!! Keep it up!! And try to choose fresh over can/packed/frozen!! It will make you run faster ;)
Sweet Colfax Marathon shirt!
How long do you wait before running after eating the bagel?
Can someone tell what are those "P"s after every name in the list?
Pence, or pennies. 100 to every pound.
Hello. How long have you been a vegan?
Around a year... veggie for about 3 years before that.
What is a "p" in the recipies? 🙃
How do you get the slick animations for the wording?
all great and all that but dude! rule #ONE don't start cooking with a cold pan! xD great video man !
Noted! Thank you 🙌
So rude to nutritional yeast. I’m with Sarah! I put it on everything 😂
What jacket do you wear in this video. Love it. Thanks
That looked like way more than 2 cloves of garlic lol. Yummy!
but it's bad for kissing 😂
Great video Ben.
Of all the days though, you’d think this would be the one where you wore the baseball cap the right way round 🙈😂😂
Oh and Korma? Korma?? 🙈🙈😂
What jacket are you wearing?
Josh Powell Salomon Bonatti Pro
Thanks!
I love thath it is vegan! big thumbs up
where can I find the hats your wearing ?
I'm releasing my own running hats soon! But these from are from Ciele.
Thanks Dude. Awesome, look forward to seeing them
can't wait to see them too!how long roughly do you think they will take to be available?
Probably about 3 months away. I'm designing a proper running hat, rather than just an existing cap with my logo on.. so it's taking a bit longer. Will be worth it! :-)
what is the music called at 16:00? :D
17:18, lazy cat ;-)
❤ 🔥
Why are most runners so small ,why don't most do Crossfit , lifting ,and running ,is it not possible to keep muscle mass when a runner especially if you are vegan and gluten intolerant which I am both ?
17:31 KIKI IS DEAD!
That's how I cooked when training hard.
A benefit of being plant based is not having to fend off your cat from your dinner :-)
Not mine. She hover's around anything bready - bread, cookies, etc. She goes ape for bread 😆
as long as you both eat garlic at the same time 😂
This fella ran 20km and eats next to nothing. I do 8 over easy and gobble anything not nailed down. What am I missing here?
Vegan foods are usually low in calories but high In volume so it kinda tricks you not to be hungry
I am Vegan but I am not runner.
Good to know
So many carbs tho
@Luis Fernandez that's when you're exercising, you burn predominantly fats for the rest of the day. And I try to base my diet 100% around a longevity standpoint. Not performance
Your breakfast = dessert 😅
wow, you eat a lot of sugar. Might wanna get tested for insulin resistance.
In a previous version of the video, you were drinking cows milk. And now you're giving the impression of being a vegan?
Gary Stefan I use to be veggie when this video was made but have since become vegan.
Start eating meat 🥩 and get faster
I eat meat and run and people think I'm absurd. It improves my performance.
My diet is 25-30% meat and 75/70 fruits and veggies, it’s personally what works for me. Although I don’t think he would benefit from meat only as carbs are definitely needed
Buying sliced onions in a plastic bag is just 100% humans of late capitalism....
Or on the other hand I’ve never wasted a onion since buying frozen.. every last bit gets used. Used to end up throwing away old onions when I bought them fresh
Runners have below average lifespans. Moderate exercise is beneficial, extreme exercise is not.
ok
What?! Are you being serious? 😆
Lol your so far off reality.
