Thanks for all your videos. I know more and more endurance athletes on plant based diets. German triathletes Frodeno and Lange e.g. switched to vegetarian diets. They claim that they recover far better now. No reason not to trust them. I should start thinking about some changes in my diet ... 👍
Thorsten Hake glad you like the video Thorsten! My recover has got a lot better since going this way.. will look up Flodeno and Lange and see what they are doing! All the best 🙌
You're making me hungry Ben! Love watching your foodie videos! I went veggie four years ago and have been vegan for a few years. The biggest difference I have noted is recovery. I recover much faster now and feel like I have more energy.
Really enjoying watching your videos. I've just decided to go plant based, to be more healthy and lose weight, and seeing that you're plant based has helped me make the decision. So far so good - amazing how my appetite has regulated now I'm not eating rubbish! London Marathon 2020 here I come!
Hi Ben! Just received your running cap, thanks a lot! It is really nice, very comfortable, cool design and it doesn't weight anything! A perfect running cap! Will wear it for my upcoming running races. cheers from Johan/Milano
Top quality! I am lacto-ovo-vegetarian myself. My favorite pre or post run food is choclate flavoured oat powder. Mix 100g with 3 dl milk for ~550 cals, lots of carbs and 20g protein.
Hi Ben, new subscriber and i love the channel. A bit of advice just because i couldnt quite tell and only recently learned myself but its best to grind up your chia seeds or they wont be digested! Keep up the great work!
Nice mate. I'm a 365 days a year porridge kind of guy, I laugh at your 50g :) More oats, more carbs to burn training I find. Here's a controversial add-in, Spinach. Spinach?!! yep, picked it up from someone I trained with. Rip up a handful of baby leaves (try to avoid too much stalk) and throw them in once the liquid is in. They wilt down to nearly nothing and leave no taste if you have enough other taste (banana). Easy green add to the diet.
I occasionally take them, but usually only after a hard session or race. (I'm not really running hard at all at the moment, so haven't had one for ages) I guess if people are time poor, then they are a good substitute, but I really try and prioritise my getting the best quality stuff I can into my body. The chocolate milk I have in the video, is good for recovery also. When I use recovery shakes though, it's the Science in Sport Rego.. banana or chocolate!
Ice cream is pretty good. In the UK we have quite a few dairy free options. Plus cakes.. love some cake. Again, easy to find here. But when I'm abroad it's usually hard to find indulgence options!
I love what you are doing for the UK trail runners scene Ben, would you reccomend Gran Canaria for a trail hol?! Thank you! I put a tin of kidney beans in.. but didn't actually mention it when I was filming, but it is on the list of ingredients. Love adding beans to the dishes! :-)
There are fresh products available.. I just hate wasting them if they don't get used in time, so have a combination of fresh and frozen. From everything I've read, the nutritional value of frozen food is exactly the same, if not slightly better if it is frozen quickly. The only thing that is worse is they rarely taste as good as fresh.. So it's just a value aspect for me and trying to make sure I use 100% of the food I buy. I know if I buy fresh onions, garlic, then it will end up in the bin if I don't use it in time. All the best!
Well you're right with waste them, I hate it too. It's the first time I see chopped onions in a bag, don't use it in Spain or would be deported. Good luck in Transgrancanaria, I'm from La Palma.
Croman I I’ll go and buy some fresh onions later today!! Haha.. I would love to visit La Palma soon.. have really enjoyed Gran Canaria and Lanzarote so far! All the best to you!

I guess I'm not the first to ask, but Ben how long does your porridge take to digest until you run ??..... I have to wait 3 hours after Egg on Toast ?

What do you choose for an “indulgence?”

nice to know banana soreen is vegan!
The banana one is.. but the regular one isn't.. it's very weird!
Good recipes but too much products from a bag (onions, mango, garlic, vegetables..). Aren't fresh products in London?

Anyone gonna mention how Ben used a whole jar of garlic in one day? lol

“And yeah...”
I am gonna eat 18 eggs a few pounds of steak some Greek yogurt and honey.
