Man what an awesome job you have! Most of us would love to do what you do on a daily basis. Keep up the good work and thanks for the valuable tips and information!
I'm planning on a low boost 383 build. I'm so glad I found theses videos.
I love how you work! Nice flow, very efficient.
I would love to have a build similar to this. 11-11.5-1 383 on a 200 sounds fun
1:30 that's badass
Did you balance the crackshaft??? Was it not necessary for the power level??? When do you think it’s a good idea to balance the rotating assembly???
Excellent videos man huge fan best in depth step by step build video on RUclips by far keep em coming 👍
Can’t wait to see part two
When you torque down the mains to measure bearing clearances, are you using the new main bolts, do you reuse the main bolts for the build or get another new set?
Your shop looks so clean!
good video! how much did you have to clearance the block? and does a steel block and a aluminum block need the same amount? thanks, axld
3:04 Only if you will be using the same style fastener. Head bolts will distort the block in a completely different way than head studs.
Correct
I have always heard that I-beam rods were better for nitrous applications. Can you do a short vid on H-beam vs I-beam?
Hey just stumbled up this. I plan on building an iron block 383 ls for a 300shot maybe a little more if I get crazy lol. What heads are you using for this build? Also what is the target compression ratio?
i currently have this motor in my gto, im running some millled and mild ported 243s.
Beautiful work! How much would it cost to do a 383 stroke (just the labor itself)?
Labor around 2k. I just did a 383 ls1 and it’s has all the goodies. All said and done 11k in it. Not including my time
Does the block need to be line honed if I use ARP main studs?
When you were honing the engine block did use TTY head bolts?
I know you guys have your brand stuff but how do you like that summit pro forged LS brand?
How do I get you to do some work for me I really like your work buddy
What all had to be done to the block to fit the 4.000 crankshaft?
Would've been nice to see how you align the rings on the pistons...
I don't align them. Pistons rings are gonna go wherever they want to.
@@JacobVillemain Do you serve the public? Im really interested in having you do some machine work! Yes Ill cover shipping both ways!
bru with ur experience, can you run a built forged ls1 over 100k miles if its tuned and maybe even dialed back for daily use? My ls1 spun a rod at 93k miles all stock lol. Kind of want to forge and cam it and maybe run nos and a turbo down the line but also dont want it dying again !
Awesome video! You do great work and shoot a good video. Can you please tell me more about that strangely staggered crankshaft reluctor?
It is the 24x style on the early Gen 3 LS engines.
Just a quick question, with all the advantages of Total Seal gapless rings why arent alot of people using them on these obviously top shelf builds?
While gapless rings do offer some advantages, for a street build like this I think there are other places to better allocate the budget for the build. They are also extremely tedious to gap and properly install without breaking one.
I have some engine build questions. Do you have an email I can reach you at ?
Hey Engine Guy I want to build a Lq4 6.0L iron block 03yr but want to make a 416ci do U hve a rotating assembly kit for dat. Want bout 700hp to d wheel pump gas daily driver also bout 250 shot.
Im late but what boost or nos shot is .23 gap acceptable on? Same motor
How do we get in contact with you about work
What power did this make
What’s the cost in parts for this setup
Do you work on hemi 5.3/6.1?
no studs??
Also what compression does stroking the motor put it at?
If you don’t change your pistons, deck height, heads or head gasket thickness, it doesn’t. Seeing that a lot of stroker kits come with aftermarket pistons though, it’ll probably bump it up a bit unless you request the pistons not to.
Z
Is resleeving necessary for this setup? I'm doing a similar build on my LS4
With a Ls4, (pretty much a Ls3). I would get some Sleeves for it, or maybe sell it and boost a 4.8 🤷♂️
@StayHydrated-wd5ic nah I already did the build. 4" stroke should be good on stock sleeves
Is that $1100 summit pro ls combo the best for $
What was the compression height if you don't mind me asking ?
On this engine 1.115”
@@JacobVillemain thank you for the quick response really appreciate it
Where are you based out of?
How much for kit
Message me on Instagram
Im so late mb ok
@@JacobVillemain I dont have an Instagram but was wondering if you could build me this 383 if I sent you the block
@@jayaldy7955 yes
@@JacobVillemain can I have some contact info please
