    I'm just an old school guy that built many motors from early 70's-90's.
    I've never heard of splitting two different sets of bearings to achieve a set tolerance.
    Always ordered undersized or oversized bearings in half thousand size increments.

I like the idea of that, as I've had headstuds on an ecoboost start to turn while torqueing the nuts down, but ARP seemed to be against the idea of it (using loctite). (At least for head studs) Any comment/opinion there? Also, I'm in the process of building my LQ9 for boost and plan to run main studs like you've done here. Looking at the ARP instructions they state that if you use loctite, you must torque them down BEFORE the loctite sets up. Any thoughts there? Thanks!

    Hi Jacob great videos nicely explained and shown keep'em coming mate.
    do you have a ( 420 stroker and what sought of HP would you think it could produce. ? i would like to get around 800. ? then add a Twin Procharger set up too it) build up video for a L98 6Ltr GEN 3 Rectangle port head version, it's all stock, except for mafless tune, otr cold air induction,1 -7/8 primary into cat backs and 3" x pipes. HP AT Present is around 380HP.
    thanks in Advance
    Dave

      Unless its a drag only engine id say thats pretty unrealistic. For it to make 800hp on an NA engine that small youll need high ass compression and a BIG cam and goodshaft rocker setup. and then it probably wont be good for 1 streetable sized procharger.... let alone a twin setup unless youre running pure Methanol. id shoot for 625 on engine and lower compression a couple points. 800 actual whp on a 408 with a regular cam and 10.5:1 thatll run on 91 octane with a single procharger on 8-10psi is absolutely CRAZY on the street or even most road courses

    Nice vid op! You're a master! What are your thoughts about the 351C motors can they handle power?

    • @JacobVillemain
      @JacobVillemain  3 года назад +2

      351C motors do have some flaws...they are a 2 galley oiling system, the valve train is very harsh on components, and the blocks are not strong. They have canted valve angles & rocker arms, but the lifters are still inline in the engine block, so they get side loaded very hard when spring pressures & rpm start to go up.
      Best Ford combination you can come up with is a Windsor based short block with Cleveland style heads.

    What is the longest stroke/shortest Rod ratio (and even pin height) you are comfortable with in a >20psi Turbo LS using a standard 9.240 deck, running right up into the upper RPM range, with say the RPM limit being the Hydraulic lifters ?

      Keep it simple and run a 4" crank w/ 6.125" rods.

    What was that sealer you put on each side before the small main side bolts? Not seen that before. Thanks for the help.
