Kang The Conqueror Origins - Marvel's God-Like Villain - Complicated Backstories - Explored

As tricky and confusing as time travel is, the backstories of the characters who practice it become more complex. Now, imagine someone who was born in the 31st Century but traveled back to ancient Egypt, then to the contemporary world and then to the 40th Century. Well, Kang the Conqueror has achieved these feats. Fortunately, or unfortunately for us, he has had innumerable versions of himself who also have a particular proclivity towards time travel. In the comics, Kang was born as Nathaniel Richards, a possible descendant of Reed Richards and Sue Storm. His world was plagued by violence and crime, but Kang brought peace and order by taking control of the planet itself. In his lifetime, he took various aliases like the Iron Lad, Rama-Tut, Scarlet Centurion, Kang the Conqueror, etc. And now, in the show Loki, he indirectly calls himself He Who Remains. Well, we will get to that at the end of this video. Kang doesn’t have any qualms for distorting the laws of time, including his past, present, and future, and also that of the world. Whenever he begins one of these journeys, he creates another reality that functions independently. In fact, on more than a few occasions, we have seen him fighting another version of himself. Since he is from the future, he has the physical strength of a super-soldier in addition to his lineage supplying him with a prodigal mind. However, his greatest strength lies in his unyielding and undying determination, which also serves as his weakness. In this video, we will explore every avenue of Kang’s origin and the various versions that we’ve witnessed. This is a complex origin story and explanation, but we have tried to make it as comprehensible as possible.
