- When it comes to overpowered living entities in the Marvel Universe, Galactus is sure to top the list. Being a cosmic entity Galactus is nearly nigh-omnipotent and has also attained the title “Devour of worlds” owing to his necessity to feed on inhabited planets. He is mostly placed as one of the prime adversaries of the Fantastic Four but also faced quite many other Marvel heroes. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby Galactus made his first comic book appearance in the ‘ Fantastic Four’ issue 48. In Tim Story’s 2005 version of Fantastic Four, we got to see Silver Surfer who was then a herald of Galactus carry the message of his arrival to Earth. He mentions that Galactus has set his eyes on Earth and would soon come to destroy it. Although the movie had mixed reviews it sure gave us an idea of how the mighty cosmic being operates. In today’s video, we will be talking about Galactus in detail. Being all-powerful might sound fancy for mortals or other life forms but Galactus also had his share of trauma which transformed him into what he is now. So without further delay let us dive into the origins of the all-powerful ‘Galactus’.

I've always considered Galactus more a Force of Nature than a Villian
I disagree. A hurricane (as far as we know) can't make a conscious decision to destroy a state or city. But Galactus can 'choose' which planet he destroys.
Yo momma is a force of nature! Also, he is sentient, so no, he is not a 'force of nature.' This is like saying an addict is a 'force of nature' rather than a blatant criminal that steals from others so they don't feel deathly sick due to withdrawals.
Sure, going through opiate withdrawals does feel like being sick with everything, all at once, turned up to 11, that you are going to die, your bones feel like that of an 80 year old, you sweat profusely despite shivering and being cold, your brain hurts and a piece of your 'soul' feels like it is missing, but that still doesn't change the fact that an opiate addict is still a conscious being and not a 'force of nature.'

The fact the ff survived their 1st bout with Galactus is nothing short of a miracle.
They forgot to mention that he was the final boss in both Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 as well as in the first Lego Marvel superheroes game

@John blaze no. The eternals was just bad and boring. Shang Chi was predictable from the start, and black widow was pretty bad too. Boring and i felt like i seen it 30 tomes before

Galactus is way to powerful for just the Fantastic 4 and they should change it so he is faced by many more characters. If his world comes even close the X-Men should lead a raid of the earth eating machine he creates while many groups and individuals take him on, with more joining as he grows to hugeer sizes and they can get to him, and his solar system sized planet can be raided by space characters.

Galactus was no match for the Ghost Rider in a Fantastic Four cartoon. That penance stare can be pretty nasty to celestial beings.
Never been a fan, just the whole "giant guy floating in space" thing kept me away. And I know it's not a popular film (cough still better than the reboot cough), but I thought the film death cloud version worked for something that "other".
That's something that I can't think of an example of being done right visually. A character that is that powerful/alien/ancient/etc that is not boiled down to a guy in a suit or a body horror monster.

Most of the times he is in his ship and while huge is not bigger than planets more like three hundred feet tall but he is able to change his size. I think making him like this but not show him change his size will work it will make him seem big and something to worry about but not just a giant man in space either.
