Hi, happy that i find this video, a did a bypass, compresor kicked on but when i put relay ther, nothing happen, so i swithed for horn relay ( relay works) but after i put relay where ac one should be, it doesn't turn comp.on. Any idea what is the problem?🙏 fuse good, relay good. Bypass works but no with relay
Could be low on refrigerant, there is a pressure switch that will not let the compressor run if it is too low. But if it is low and has been working recently probably a leak. Best not just top it up with a can and help destroy the environment.
@@vw_mods_4711 ow man that makes alot of sensación thanks alot! I'll try that and be back! Makes sense because it did have a lead but they fixed that and maybe they didnt put enough in and also it does run good but after a while cycling it turns off
Had the exact same problem, its either too high or too low on pressure, if the compressor runs on the jumper but not with the relay, 1 of the 2 pressure sensors are activated.
I’ve tired this trying to get my ac going again replaced the compressor brand new and it won’t engage put the system under 30 inches of vacuum it took some refrigerant but not the whole can cause the compressor wasn’t clicking on not sure for I got a bad new compressor from factory
Ok so I did this and my compressor clutch engaged now my ac is cold when it wasn’t engaging fuse is also good as I switch with the horn fuse and horn still worked so I know it’s not the fuse
@@RUN_93 make sure system is charged properly, or recharge if needed. You will need to engage compressor when charging. If charged properly and still doesn’t cycle you have a sensor not working properly, or a wiring issue
Thats a handy trick I know you can also do this for the starter if you've ever got a no start and trying to diagnose the problem
Same way or how ? 😮
@Miguel Gonzalez you gotta disconnect the fuel somehow I forget it's just a tip I learned I don't even own a 7.3 powerstroke
@@thegman4759this is a diramax lol
So if it works after bypassing, clutch is good?

Switch in system faulty or not telling compressor to kick on.
@@joeybrewer6564so I did same thing and the compressor came on so which switch is it that’s making it not turn on?
@@alechharper2681. maybe high pressure switch on compressor ?
@@alechharper2681 could be a relay, or any of the switches in the system. This just verified that your compressor is good
Im having this same exact problem right now. I replaced all of those switches and still no luck. Did you figure out your issue?
I tried with paper clip. Compressor clutch did not engage. Is the whole compressor bad?
Same thing happened with me. Did you ever figure out if that means the whole compressor is bad?
@@tristincortes1969any luck on what happened ?
Is the Ac pressure switch the problem ?
I did try that but and with the cable it does engage but not with the relay. I already changed the reply but still not engaging with turning the ac on
That means you have an issue somewhere else in the system.
@@joeybrewer6564 ow ok thank you!
I'll take it to a mecanic

Manually turn compressor on like this, then charge it up. What I had to do on mine
how did you manually tune the comp. on
Where did you get that 5 pin relay?
The middle 'pin' ur seeing is flat. Relays on my 04 Tahoe has the same ones.

can anyone help? i don’t have a fancy relay box.. i have a 1988 camaro and i have no idea where the relay is. no info online.
What did you have to do to fix it
I had a lose wire in the system somewhere. It just randomly started working again before I got the chance to diagnose more
Same issues no fix yet
Can you drive around with the wire instead of a relay?
I mean yea it’ll drain the battery if you forget
And freeze up
Itll fuck up your compressor if you run low on refrigerant
This is not a ls engine
He never said it was, Silverado also came with a 4.3 v6 not an ls engine
Another video it took a dude 22 minutes to explain this exact same thing….Jesus…😂
I try to be a straight shooter lol
Or just use a known good similar relay
But that wouldn’t tell you if the clutch itself is bad.
My point is if your compressor won’t engage doing this will help determine if it’s the compressor clutch or another part of the system👍
Lol it does the same exact thing you did
@@joeybrewer6564 what if it kicks on but still doesn’t work by itself
@@michaelc2073 what do you mean by work by itself? Like not get cold?
