I was struggling to get heat from my blazer with auto temp controls and this little routine did the trick so a huge thanks and anyone having issues with a GM auto temp system even as old as 1999, try this regardless of the issue because it just might fix it. And save you a trip to the shop.

It’s Saturday and got my battery changed and the AC worked through the defogger and floor but not through the vents. I took to a couple shops and all booked until Monday. Have to use 07 Chevy classic for work Sunday in the San Antonio heat🥵 Thank god I found your video here. All vents working and saved some serious $$$!!! Thanks brother.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post this video, it worked on my 2004 Silverado!
One weird thing, after those steps it was putting out cool air out the defroster, I was worried and thought I would have to redo it. Then later in the day I restarted the engine and it somehow adjusted and blows perfect cold air....fixed!

My 2005 Tahoe went into theft deterrent mode when I pulled that fuse. Engine would start and immediately shut down on fuel cut off. It was easily reset by locking all doors with auto lock and then key opening the drivers door. Then the climate control reset worked as described. Thanks for sharing this procedure, it sure helped me!

I just repaired my A/C automatic blend motor assembly by disassembling the unit, inspected the gears, inspected the large final drive gear and its copper fingers that slide on the variable resistor pad. I put more tension on the copper fingers and used the surplus lube from inside and applied it to the gears. Reinstalled the unit and started my 2012 GMC Sierra with the A/C on, varied the temp setting cold to hot and back again, IT WORKS! Just my time and no parts.

    Excellent Video....
It happened to me, when I changed the battery, on a GMC Yukon 2005.
    I did these steps:
    1. Turn on the key, ( Not the engine ).
    2. Push the A/C Auto button.
    3. Wait for controls to reset.
    4. Turn off the key
    5. Wait one minute.
    6. Turn on the Engine.
    7. Not touch any A/C controls for two minutes,( let the complete system to recalibrate, You should hear the actuators moving ).
    8. After those two minutes, HVAC should be recalibrated.
    I didn't remove the fuse.
Hint: When removing the battery make sure that A/C is on the coldest, so all the actuators are on the lowest setting.

First, thank you for this helpful tip. I followed along with you step by step. When I started the engine for the second time, the little indicator showed the middle vents and the heater vents. It only showed these for about a half a second and the air only came out of the middle vents. Repeated the process, and for the same result. In your opinion, does that indicate the acutator is bad ? Again, I'm asking your opinion. Thanks again.

I would think the acutator is bad, yes.

My AC works great but my heater doesn't and i think it maybe this problem. Will this work with the heating unit as well?

my 2010 Yukon Denali was blowing hot driver side, cold passenger side; Found 4 fuses labeled HVAC, pull all 4 and waited 1 min, reinstalled and started truck, displayed showed 74 and I let it idle for ~5 mins then hit Auto on dash. Now Blows Hot & Cold when and where it should! Thank you, Thank you!
