Believe me, it's well worth it when you get to that point. Most arguments... kinda just handle themselves without you needing to do much work at all. I only recently started listening to Vaush. Usually just in the background while I play games. But I used to watch Sargon in the same way, and think he was competent. For lack of a better word. I don't know what I was thinking. That whole time. I don't understand how I fell for that. Maybe it's just me but how Mike acted was borderline triggering due to how narcissistic he acts. Vaush was right on the money with the toxic masculinity and how insecure he is. He was constantly bringing up 'how much he's done' in a way that sounded like he was building this pedestal for himself and he took every moment he could to just berate Vaush and anyone else he could. I'm floored how Vaush stayed so calm in this, I would've broke down with how long that went on and how little he was actually absorbing.
And he was calling him a child for firing back at Mike’s insults. Also Vaush is wrong about the rational agents thing he explained early on before Mike came on; heterodox economics like Marx, MMT, post Keynesians, neo Ricardians, radical institutionalists, etc. all reject the utility maximizing rational agents concept from neoclassical economics. "Sewer socialism was an originally pejorative term for the American socialist movement that centered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from around 1892 to 1960." The funny thing is, Mike was right about everything he was saying. From the candidate he backed being the right one and the other guy being a more center left Id poll character (I live in Nebraska), to his talking about Sewer Socialism, which is a based AF history of socialist municipal utility workers and a socialist mayor in Milwaukee, etc, and how they built a base from the bottom up without doing a neoliberal race to the bottom strategy. Vaush is right about localities being monetarily constrained unlike the fed gov., but that doesn't mean nothing can be done and we have to succumb to neoliberal BS. Also Vaush is wrong about the rational agents thing he explained early on before Mike came on; heterodox economics like Marx, MMT, post Keynesians, neo Ricardians, radical institutionalists, etc. all reject the utility maximizing rational agents concept from neoclassical economics. All that being said, Mike made a TOTAL ass of himself here. Dude couldn't effectively explain anything because he was too angry and easily triggered by Vaush messing with him. Very poor form. It's not surprising to me that lay people who aren't all theory pilled would watch this debate and come away thinking everything Vaush said was 100% correct uncritically.

@@guptadagger896 If you had paid attention to the "debate" he said specifically that companies clearly swing towards tax breaks, but there are more solutions than that such as providing them a good spot to headquarter within a district.
He also said that while under capitalism, ultimately bringing companies to small cities is the only way to effectively increase tax revenue and stop brain drain.
I get the impression from his statements that he'd prefer other solutions.
