Glad I spotted it! :)
8:31 Bill got the scar from Greyback IN Half Blood Prince, specifically during the Battle of the Astronomy Tower near the end
I was so ready to ream you for that one lol in this comment section.
I was just about to leave a very angry comment about
Glad you caught
Loving the series
Bryan Seeker good thing I saw this cause I was about to flame your ass
I think this series could really explore the "treason" of Percy Weasley, but for this he has to be casted since the first season.
I agree!!!
I guess he probably considers him one of the kids and he said he wants unknown actors for them. Or maybe he just forgot about him lol
Who would you choose
@@peterumathum4903 yeah, it's probably that. Now you said I realized Percy has in the first book about 15...
I think anyone who is in Trio''s , the Twins', Percy's (like Percy's girlfriend) or in between them should all be cast for Season 1 or even Ginny's year (despite them not making an actually appearance in the story itself until Ginny's Season 4). I mean either Anglia Jolie was played by one . I mean Katie Bell is one year older then Harry when he's become Qudditch Captain and Angelina Johnson
is two years older then Harry in his 5th year. That does count Cho Chang who technically is a year older then Harry and Cedric Diggory
I totally agree with Peter Capaldi, Scrimgeour was described to look like a lion I believe and Capaldi has the right energy to portray that
Omg awesome profile pic! Haven't thought about commander keen in years. Loved that game as a kid! Thanks for bringing the memories back.
I agree, Capaldi has played 3 roles in the Whoverse, the one that most don’t know about is about is a dubious, in over his head politician on Torchwood Season 3.
Peter's acting alone sold Doctor Who for me. Every scene he was able to perform in was MADE by his performance.
Whenever I see The doctor, I always see Capaldi in the role.
Especially his role in The Personal History Of David Copperfield, quite a quirky role
Just cast Peter Capaldi. I don’t care “Who”, just cast him.
Could you do an episode casting characters we didn’t see in the films such as Charlie weasley and others?
I'd like to jump on this comment to say that sounds like a fantastic addition. Love this series and any more videos would be a treat!
Yes!! Andromeda Tonks is who comes to mind for me! (Rachel Weisz would be good!)
YES PLEASE CHARLIE WEASLEY!
@@TheAlo32 true! She, Eva and Naomi really look like sisters!

Luna Moreno meeeee
I think hardy would do better as snape
What about Kelsey Grammar? Or Keifer Sutherland?
agreed!
honestly, I feel Shia LaBeouf would be good for Greyback as well
About the Flitwick choice. As much as I like Peter Dinklage, I think, that he doesn't fit. I've always imagied Flitwick as small timid guy with higher pitched voice and badass Dinklage with booming deep voice is not who I'd choose for this role. I guess you could go with Toby Jones. He'd fit much better in my opinion, even though he's a bit taller.
But otherwise good choices.
Adam Volný i think dani devito for flitwick
@@AlchemicalReaction Dany Devito would be perfect
@@AlchemicalReaction No. He should play Harry Potter.
Flitwick is the best duellist at Hogwarts - he's more of a badass than mcgonagall, we just don't see it in the films. Dinklage would add to that, plus he could do more with the subplots around ubridges racism.
Dinklage does not have a "booming deep" voice. It certainly carries but it's not deep at all.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see Stephen Fry as Slughorn, but never show that Deep Fake again...
Same Old Satellite ‘if you don’t believe me check out this deep fake footage’ oh god no
Explain to me
@@MartasZLA the idea is good but the deep-fake was not convincing at all
It looked more like Voldemort on the back of Quirell's head
I won’t be able to sleep for days
There are some characters who got cut or not included enough from the films that I’d love to see you include: Charlie Weasley, Winky, Professor Binns, Professor Sprout, and Firenze
iirc peeves and ludo have been cast in the previous vids of this series!
@Ace Q Firenze wasn't cut from the all the films. He was in the first one.
I think he wouldn't cast Winky (Just like Dobby and Kreacher)
He did Ludo in Goblet of Fire and Peeves in one of the earlier ones. Might have been Sorcerer’s Stone.
Even Percy and Bill Weasley
Imagine in the future if the Harry Potter TV Series is a thing, you see Bryan Seeker in the credits for "Casting by ...".
I wish it was
Naomi Watts actually was considered for the role of Narcissa Melfoy.
Lavender brown: Morgan Freeman
Flitwick: Angelina Jolie
Slughorn: Trisha Paytas
Ilvermorny I love you
Trish Paytas as Slughorn. Omg please make it happen!! Haha
Ilvermorny elle fanning: luna lovegood and angelina jolie as narcissia malfoy
Perfect
Masterfully done
I actually thought for a long time that Hugh Laurie would make a good Rufus Scrimgeour...the description of his limp in the books always conjured up the image of Dr. House in my mind. Hugh Laurie fits the other descriptors well, too, I think
I agree. He would be really good as Scrimgeour. Plus, in my mind, I've already cast Peter Capaldi as Dumbledore.
You would not believe how much you blew my mind right now by making me realize Hugh Laurie from A bit of Fry and Laurie is the guy who plays Dr. House. That is really fucking weird but also pretty awesome.
I was going to put this. Much better choice than Peter Capaldi imo.
@@tonyofplymouth7303 Fry and Laurie Reunited in Harry Potter!
@@sarahkinsey5434 we can dream for such a reunion! :)
Tom Hardy could also incorporate some aspect of his psychopathic portrayal of Alfie Solomons into Fenrir Greyback if that character is explroed further.
I'm pretty sure Tom Hardy would have no problem doing that
I mean... have you seen him as Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights? He’d be right in his element!
I hadn't made the connection that the professor with the massive hair was Flitwick on the first film until now
They just look like two totally different people, I'm shook
It was a recast
NarneX Actually, it is still the same actor- Warwick Davis. He also played Griphook the goblin and the conductor of the choir in Prisoner of Azkaban, after which they decided to change the appearance of Flitwick to match the conductor, making them the same character and making Flitwick a lot younger.
It’s the same actor but the man we see conducting the choir at the start of PoA was actually meant to be a different character design. However, everyone presumed it was Flitwick, and Rowling said it was more accurate to how she pictured Flitwick, so they just rolled with it and changed the character design
@@BournetoRead oooh, I see, thanks, bud, I didn't know, that's really interesting tbh
Old Flitwick looked really weird anyway.
After finishing the deathly hallows you should have a part 8 where you cast smaller roles but since they don’t have much character you could base it off of looks like for example:
Professor Sinistra (Astrology Prof.)
Professor Sprout
Professor Binns
Madam Pomfrey
Professor Grubbly-Plank
Madam Hooch
Madam Rosmerta
Alice and Frank Longbottom / Neviles gran
Bathilda Bagshot
Professor Kettleburn
Peeves (Don’t think Bryan cast him)
Didelus Diggle
Mr Burke from Borgin & Burke’s
& Finally The Knight Bus Workers (Stan & Ernie)
Edit: Added a Few More from Comments and some others
Madam Pomfrey and Madam Hooch
Sprout, Binns, And Bagshot
Bryan cast Simon Pegg as Peeves
I would love to see a Percy Jackson version of these castings, the movies do not exist in my mind :)
apparently Riordan is in talks with disney about a possible show
@@harlequin5664 I've heard! I'm so excited for this because I can tell he wants to do it properly this time.

Aisha M lmao same. Books are amazing, the films.... wait what films? I don’t know any Percy Jackson films😂
@@perezortegavalentin9343 Yes true, but I still want to see him cast the gods, titans and potentially some of the monsters?
Instead of Naomi Watts I would personally have Lena Headey as Narsissa Malfoy.
Just imagine Lena as Narcissa and Nicolaj as Lucius
We saw Nicolaj with his long blonde hair in the first season of GoT, and he played that rich arrogant villain.
For me, both of them would have been perfect choices.
I agree Naomi Watts is a great actress but she is a little too old to play Narcissa she is supposed to be around Snapes age so in her late 30s and Watts is 51 and although still beautiful she really doesn't pass for someone in their 30s anymore
I have Aidan Gillen and Rosamund Pike as Lucius and Narsissa.
"Let's start off with the DADA teacher, Horace Slughorn".
He's the potions master though...
What’s actually really interesting in grey back and lupins names that I just realized is how they reflect two different portrayals of wolves. Fenrir is named after the Norse god that kills Odin at the end of ragnarok, leaning heavy towards his evil and sinister nature. Whereas Remus is named for the (mythological) founder of Rome, known for being noble and kind.
JK Rowling did a lot well, but the depths to which she went with the naming is utterly brilliant
*Romulus* is actually the mythological founder of Rome, if we're being technical. Remus was his brother, who Romulus killed in a dispute. (Both brothers were raised by a wolf after being abandoned as babies, thus the wolf connection.) So Remus is really more known for dying tragically than anything else (also relevant to Lupin, sadly). I suspect JKR went with 'Remus' rather than 'Romulus' because the fratricide element *would* have leaned more toward the sinister associations.
I thought Remus and Romulus co found Rome, then shortly after, Romulus killed him?
You guys didn’t know???? The minute you hear lupin you think lupine.

Doesn’t Stephen Fry narrate the British version of hp audiobooks?
Yes!
I couldn't imagine anyone else doing it. He's a national treasure.
Yes, and I prefer his reading over Jim Dale’s American release. I love Jim Dale in general, and think his reading is great, I just prefer Fry’s version better.
Exactly.
Stephen Fry narrates THE version of HP audiobooks ;)
I found Slughorn interesting in the books. He's described by Dumbledore as a friend, and beneath his jovial aspects, he's highly skilled and extremely competent. He's a good man, but rather prone to vanity in the face of flattery, and he's a rather weak and trusting soul. I had wondered if he might be an interesting study in what Slytherin house was before voldemort recruited most of his members from there and turned their kids too.
While I love Helen McCrory as an actress and i thought she played Narcissa well and with subtlety, the weird hair and harsh makeup really didn't sit well with me.
i never understood why they gave her half dark/half light hair, especially in that particular style. maybe to make her appearance more similar to bellatrix's (adding the dark hair), to emphasize that they were sisters? still, it looked too wacky for what i thought the rich, pureblood wife type would look like
@@nebullae I had wondered if it was a bit of a nod to the grey streaks in Bellatrix's curls, so they both had a dark/light combo. There were early shots with longer blonde hair and a less cakey approach to makeup, which they later abandoned, but which I thought suited Narcissa far better. The problem with the 1940s wardrobe (while beautifully tailored) is that it's very ageing.
thegreenmanofnorwich for bellatrix having streaks of grey, i saw that as due to her time in azkaban (literally aging her beyond her years) whereas the narcissa hairstyle was completely different from what was described in the books! that’s where my shock comes from haha
I HATED that badger style hair.
@@nebullae yeah, although by HBP Bellatrix is about 44 or 45, so a few greys would be expected. Narcissa's just looks... well, a bit peculiar. I preferred it in HBP where it was clearly an intentional somewhat high maintenance coiffure as opposed to the DH films, but it never really grew on me.
Immediately liking because so far this series hasn't disappointed
When you finish with this series, could you make a recap video briefly showing all of the characters you've casted?
Abigail Morgan yes please
Yes I can totally see Stephen Fry as Slughorn, he reads him so well in the audiobooks that I think he would bring him to life in the flesh very well.
His version of the audio books are so great!!
Are you going to cast Regulus Black? I’d really like to see him portrayed in this imaginary series since he didn’t get any screen time in the films. A true unsung hero
So needed!
Stephen Fry is my choice for Slughorn. HBP is my second favorite book and my least favorite movie. I would also cast Andy Serkis as Marvolo Gaunt.
Oh wow, that's actually brilliant. Andy Serkis as Marvolo Gaunt, sounds super cool.

Caractacus Burke. What a fantastic name for a character.
I think that Tom Hardy’s performance in Taboo is an excellent example of how he can embody the wild, beastly and unpredictable side of a character.
Stephen Fry has lost a lot of weight recently
I will die on the hill that Stephen Fry should play Dumbledore

Its so perfect - I have to see him do that on screen. Plus he's 15 years younger than Michael Caine, Bryan's suggestion for Dumbledore, meaning he's a lot more likely to still be in a fit enough state to perform the role even 7-10 years in the future

He's in each of the last 4 as well as the first one.
An actor with the clout and pure acting chops like Peter Dinklage would not only be a waste on Flitwick, it’d be majorly distracting.
How would you not think “Tyrion Lannister” every time he smiles or speaks.
Who else thought of Capaldi when he mentioned the eyebrows?
1:08 Slughorn was potions teacher. DADA teacher was Snape in sixth book
I‘d like to see Jason Momoa as Greyback
Oooh now that would be something else
Totally agree; when he said the character is a beast Jason Momoa was the first thing that came to my mind.
Jason Momoa as Firenze !!
Although I could totally see Peter Capaldi as Rufus Scrimgeour, I imagined Daniel Craig as him. He might be a bit on the younger side, but I feel like he would be perfect in the role (also, a season 6 would be like 6 years down the road).
* Can play a veteran, hardened auror? ✔

* Would rather be tortured to death than reveal information to his enemies? Hell yeah! ✔
When you mentioned Peter Capaldi though... I think he might be a great Dumbeldore!
* Tall and skinny ✔
* Can play warm and kind? ✔
* Can play a 'deeper role', with many hidden regrets? ✔
* A bit eccentric ✔
The main point would be how Dumbledore is described in the books: how the power eminates from him in certain occassions. This is a trait Peter Capaldi has already shown he can play as the 12th Doctor.
Having really awful day today, you have some perfect timing. Love these videos so much, keep up the good work
If you've ever listened to Stephen Fry's reading of the Harry Potter books. He sounds like he would make a most Awesome Dumbledore.
Controversial opinion: I think Stephen Fry would be really interesting to see as Dumbledore.
He's actually slimmed down a lot in recent years, and he actually has a somewhat crooked nose. But mainly, if you've ever heard him read Dumbledore in the audio books, you'll know how much more warmth and wisdom he brings to the character than Harris or Gambon (though this is likely more due to the writing and direction of the films).
I recently binge watched all of the previous parts and I've been checking your channel for part 6 ever since. I love this series and I would love to Watch a TV-Series with these actors. Keep it up, mate! :)

Stephen Fry as Slughorn gives me so much genuine joy
Yes YES YES at Stephen as Slughorn. You have that jollier nature and with a moustache he would seriously fit the profile. But he could also fit that more intelligent sinister side, he’s a Slytherin collecting students for favours, harmless but very cunning, and Fry would really portray that well, alongside the backstory of him and Tom Riddle, I can see how he would then shrink away from Tom’s questioning on horcruxes. It’s perfect!
Yes you went with my Capaldi suggestion!!! Im so happy ahhhh. He's perfect for scrimgeour!
I love Stephen Fry as Slughorn, perfect choice and he already has a connection to Harry Potter. Kinda hard to see someone else play Flitwick as Warwick Davis played him basically twice (and let's be honest, he would return for a third time in a heartbeat), but I'm pretty curious to see what Peter Dinklage could bring to the role.
This is one of the best you've done! So good!
I love this series so much! Thank you for doing this!

I have so enjoyed these videos! Thank you for them.
It's been so long since I watched Harry Potter, that I obviously don't remember how exactly the actors looked, so seeing that Domhnall Gleeson played Bill Weasly really surprised me. Today, Domhnall is one of my favorite actors (He's been in some great Movies over the last few years, and his performance in Star Wars 7 as Hux, especially his speech, was also pretty outstanding imo), so seeing him being part of my favorite childhood movie/book-franchise really kinda made my day.
All of that also showed me, that I really need to watch the movies again ^^

Okay I didnt comment on your recasting videos before, but choosing stephen fry and peter capaldi for their roles is just perfect!
I really love them both and you also chose the perfect interview to portray frys wisdom that he could transport into Slughorn.
Capaldi is, since his portrayal of the 12th doctor, one of my favorite actors. His last episodes and the speech you chose to showcase were absolute highlights of Doctor Who in general.
Also Tom Hardy as Greyback is a nice fit, would love to see his version of this beast-like man.
Peter capaldi as rufus is exactly what i thought when i first saw him on tv. Glad you picked him, love these videos!
I was originally thinking Colin Firth as Slughorn, oh well.

Oh interesting! To me it seems he has more of that polished charm, when Slughorn is more on the polished intellectual vibe
too thin. i agree that slughorn main attribute was he was fat. i also imagined him to be a little bit manipulative

Great choice as Stephen Fry for Slughorn! He read’s the British versions of the audio books so you should try get an audio clip of Stephen reading some of Slughorn’s lines then you would know exactly how he would sound in the role!
Horace Slughorn was a Potions Teacher

@@narnex3179 mum met one, once, while in Africa. He was 3/8ths white, having one white grandparent, and one white great-grandparent on the other side, and he stood out from the natives by being slightly lighter, though they were black as tar, and it's only the extreme darkness of the locals that made him stand out, apparently. In most African-American or British communities, I don't think he'd have looked out of place.
Stephen Fry is a perfect pick, but I think part of that is how well he can play up Slughorn's sleazier side. You treat the Slug Club as a side of his care for students, but it really is part of Slughorn's manipulative endeavor. He cultivates and ingratiates himself with students who he feels will have big and bright futures, hoping to ride their coattails to prestige. He is someone who always felt he never got the respect owed to his "clearly self-evident brilliance." Of course, when it comes to his actual educational ability, he's remarkably lackluster, not even noticing how Harry is using a past student's work to get a leg up. This stands in sharp contrast to Hogwarts' exceptional teachers like McGonagall, who treat the students' achievements as the end, not what they get from those students.
Casting Peter Capaldi is something that I didn't see coming, but the second you said it my eyes went wide with the realization. it makes so much sense!
Getting quite miffed at how most of these recasts seem to be for american actors
Thats not the point of harry potter
I mean, they're actors. A lot of them can do accents as part of the job.
I'm glad they stayed integral to the books the first time around in the movies. But for the series i think it would be good to see diversity and keep it fresh.
Stephen Fry is British, Naomi Watts is Australian, Tom Hardy is British, Capaldi is Scottish, Caleb is American (so fair) but how many little people actors with great character potential are out there to cast as Flitwick, so Im giving Peter a pass.
Funny, I thought the point of Harry Potter was to highlight how it’s wrong to be racist, and that ethnic and racial diversity - and equality - was important to fight for. Guessing that got lost in translation for you.
Good casts! I thought about Stephen Fry as soon as you started talking about Slughorn, nicely done.
Caleb Landry Jones is the bomb. He is one of my favorite young actors and can definitely give off a very cool, rockstar vibe. Not to mention that his appearance is really striking and I would love to see him next to the Fleur character. Their contrast would be really interesting, especially post-Greyback attack.
I'm once again so impressed with your choices. Especially the Minister of Magic felt spot on to me.
I enjoy this series immensely. Great job!
These have been amazing! After you’re done with The Deathly Hallows, do you think you could do a “round-up” video of every casting you’ve done so far?
Keep up the great work! Looking forward to TDH cast already!
I've loved this series so far! Your picks are amazing! I have this image in my head of Cate Blanchett as Narcissa Malfoy and I think she'd be great.
You're so right, she's an ice queen who can break
Your videos are absolutely amazing!!
As always these were great pics almost there!
Man half-blood prince is such a beautifully shot film. Also my favorite book of the series by far.
Id say for Xenophilius Lovegood, Aneurin Barnard. He has previously played a role as a father who lost his wife in Citadel, he had his hair blonde in Cilla, and his role in Dunkirk shows how he can show emotion and fear. Again in Citadel, his character had Agoraphobia and showed emotions in a strong manner
I love how you recast many of the original actors/actresses with the cast from dr. Who and got
I got so excited because when you were describing who should play Greyback, I was saying Tom Hardy. Then you said his name and I got so excited! He would be perfect
I personally think that someone who would be a little more known than the others playing Lavender Brown would be fun to see! A little cameo. Not like an A list, but a little more known than the “Golden Trio”
Man, your casting choices are on point!
I probably wouldn't be able to see Fry as Slughorn without expecting to hear him go, "BAAAAAAAH!" every now and then, and refer to Snape as "Blackadder!"
When you do your bonus video< can you include Aunt Marg, I was actually looking forward to seeing who you would cast in that roll. It wasn’t a big part, but you have cast characters who have had smaller rolls. Thanks
I'd still love to see you cast the Gaunts! Especially because that storyline deserves so much more exposure, it was one of my favorite things from the books that didn't make it to the movies.
I think Andy Serkis could portrait Greyback very well aswell... He got some stunning performances over the past couple of years
Perfect casting!
I love the Slughorn casting!
