If Ewan McGregor was Lockhart, I understand why Mrs Weasley/Hermione/all the other women acted the way they did
The only question would be why it isn't working on the male characters too
On my castlist, I have Robert Pattinson who I feel could pull it off as well...And would be a nice nod to the original Harry Potter movies.
@@professionalmemeenthusiast2117 In a modern remake, it very well might work on some of them too
Yees. Ewan is so hoooo...!!!
I though ewan and Kenneth were the the same person when I was a kid. They look so much alike! Ewan is muuch sexier tho lol
Straight on facts
It's over Harry. I have the high ground.
Either someone hit the like exactly when I did or the universe actually allowed me to like this twice. (It was at 139 and I hit the like enough to get it to 141 somehow)
You underastimate my Expelarmus
Are you saying Ewan would be playing a LIAR!?
Is Mayonnaise An Instrument lmao
@@eli-boy7473 Don't try it
There's only one option for Doby: Vladimir Putin
Get Mike dirnt to play dobby and it's the same
Okay but hear me out? John Mulaney
What about Andy serkis as usual
Peter Dinklage
Vladimir Putin physical appearance is more similar to Lucius Malfor
"Ewan McGregor for Lockhart"
Me, a prequel memer: this is where the fun begins
Hello there, Harry
Timmy Ruzicka underrated comment right here
"Hello there."
"Professor Lockhart"
Yo he tries healing Harry's arm, "I hate flying" or something that ends in that quote
"I am a bold one"
When you realise Lockhart actually says "Hello there" in the books

Huh? No way it’s to good to be true

I feel like Daniel Radcliffe and Bonnie Wright should be James and Lily Potter. Almost as a cameo in the flashback scenes throughout the series.
That would be AWESOME
Ik
Like they did with Dean Cain in Supergirl
i think daniel radcliffe would be perfect for james but i kinda feel like lily potter and bonnie wright dont really share the same essence
Nope, no more Bonnie Wright please.
I just burst into laughter over your Mr. Weasley casting because Martin Freeman seems perfect for the role!
Just imagine his "very well" look, while asking Harry about rubber ducks :O :D
I squealed in excitement!
maybe a little taller 🥺👌
I love it but I don't know if he could rock the red hair
I agree XD
No your wrong
Samual L Jackson as molly weasly
“ I’m sick of these mutherfucking kids taking my mutherfucking car “
No he would make a better dobby
Yes please
With how woke Rowling is I'm sure they won't mind re-casting the Weasleys as a black family with same-sex parents
I'm so sick of these mother effin' Slytherins in this mother effin' school!
Ugh FINALLY I agree with someone in these comments
if Martin Freeman is Arthur Weasley, i only see one person to do Molly, the one, the unique, Benedict Cumberbatch

(Yeah.... I wanted to make a pun, but this just fit as was...)
Lockhart: People often ask me if I ever thought about career in the Ministry of Magic. Oh no, I'm not brave enough for politics.
Why Do You Type As Though You're Typing A Movie Title?
" *GENERAL KENOBI!* "
Harry: Who let that 7ft cyborg in here?
I feel like all of what Alec Guinness sais in his role as Obi-Wan should be said by Ewan McGregor in this series. "Hello there", "it is true, from a certain point of view", "I don't remember ever owning a droid" and so on :)
I heard on an interview once that Matin Freeman was a bit bitter for not being in Harry Potter. This would be perfect for him.
"because for a long time I was one of seven British actors who was not in Harry Potter, Staring through the window like orphans in a Dickens book"
We gotta show him this video! ❤️
N00000000 please I can't stand him I don't understand how people can watch him act, why does noone else see this!??
@@harrypounds456 what do you mean? I think he did an incredible job in sherlock and many other movies. I really like him. Although I have to say in my opinion the Harry Potter cast is perfect the way it is and I can't imagine anyone else playing one of the characters. Martin Freeman is great though...
Because he belong to Middle-Earth not The Wizarding World I guess
As good as Ewan McGregor is, was slightly disappointed you didn't mention Nikolaj Coster-Waldau for Lockhart, seems like such a shoo-in with how well he played the pretentious Jaime Lannister (with an impeccable British accent) in early seasons of GoT.
YES yes YES!! yes I feel like he would just be the best Lockhart
To me he feels too rugged for the role, but yes I could still see him
OOOOOH that's a really good choice!!!
Might be because he's favoring British actors, but I agree, he would be very good too
I literally thought you wrote Nicolas Cage at first
"You were the chosen one, Harry! You said you would destroy the Dark Arts, not join them!"
bring balance to magic, not leave it in darkness
ToaOfFusion 😂😂
Lmao 😝
“You underestimate my wand”... “It’s over Harry, I have the high ground!”
"Ginny, Harry has turn to the dark side. Harry is the father isn't he?"
Martin Freeman as Mr. Weasley is FREAKING PERFECT
What exactly is the function of the rubber duck?
“So for Lucius, Mads Mikkelson”
Dang Grindelwald really turned into Lucius, that’s an amazing character arch
He wasn’t cast as grindelwald before this vid has came out so yeah :)

Steffan Wilson-Jones damn this is great
I like this only there's no way that the bigger books likr GOF OOP HBP or DH could be condesed into 10 episodes this woukd be, being made to expand upon the movies and ect... sp unless they did final season of GOT style and made each episode just under an hour or even a few minutes over an hour this 10 episode scheme you got isn't going to work.
I know its just a fun fan thing but yeah.
@@dunkbuscusgaming7016 I don't know though because a lot of the time with the earlier seasons could be devoted to world building as 10 episodes is a lot for so little plot, so by the time you get to the later seasons, a lot of the exposition and character introductions will have already been done so you can concentrate more on plot, and certainly the episodes would be longer than an hour as you get to the later seasons like GOT season 8 did
Bearing in mind that it'd be one season over the course of a year. As to let the younger actors age up throughout the series as a whole. Its one way I think the movies were rushed as they kept to that deadline as well.
@@steffanwilson-jones5822 even without a lot of exposition i the bigger books it'd essentially be GOT S8 tue sequel that's my opinion anyway, as I said this is just a fun fan project thing not like anything will come from it but at the same time
We don't want to have to sacrifice things just because there's a limited 10 episode line even if you did a usual 23 episode series that'd at least make it better and there's also the case of this is a new oppertunity to tell more lilensure tell the original book story but why not expand a lot on the classes and such and even if they're just filler episodes tell some side stories too.
The Martin Freeman pick actually melted my heart, yes, he'd be perfect
Except that Arthur is tall.
Agata Duarte it’s just so perfect! Slap a wig on him 😂
Nah Arthur is supposed to be tall and thin, molly is supposed to be short and plump. Like opposites.
True but they could make Molly tall, I think Martin Freeman would be great
cause he is a little bit looking like the normal actor
Dumbledore: "The Chamber of secrets has been opened"
Lockhart: *So uncivilised*
I would like, but I’ve got to keep it at 66
Have him say “Hello there” every time he gives DADA classes x3
LOL
Hello there!
"Young voldemort"
me: Timothée. It has to be Timothée.
"Timothée Chalamet"
me *hits pause with a sense of pride*
Bea Maia same 😂 I just knew he was going to say Timmy
young voldemort its supposed to be handsome
YEESSS!!
I SCREAMED!!
Young Johnny Depp could be a great young Voldemort if he were just born in the 90's. It's not just his handsome looking face that fit on the role, he also has this mysterious and dark aura in him. but, yeah, i can also see Timothèe playing Tom, even though i don't find him that good looking. but i don't mean he's ugly, he's just pretty cute to me. even though he had a good facial structure.
Edit: and i also think young Ezra Miller (Credence) would fit. especially if y'all watched his performance in "We Need To Talk About Kevin"
I legit thought you'd cast Vladimir Putin as Lucius Malfoy when I looked at the thumbnail.
XD LOL OMG
As for me, Putin looks more like... Dobby 🙃
kim taehyung lololololol
"If you've ever watched Doctor Who, then a clear image should be popping up in your mind..."
Me: OMG, yes, Donna Noble! Catherine Tate would be AMAZING as Molly Weasly
YES I only saw Donna, way better IMO
SAME. Alex Kingston just isn't it
I agree too. However, one edge Alex Kingston would have is that I think she'd deliver the "Not my daughter you BITCH" line better than Catherine Tate could.
That would be a better casting, I feel.
i feel like alex is better choice though, she just has that anger that catherine doesent, and it is very much needed
Can't wait to see who you choose for Lupin and Sirius.
Sameee here. Honestly those fan movies with Ben Barnes and Andrew Garfield as Sirius and Remus are amazing. That would be perfect, and their age fits.
I love Gary Oldman as Sirius, but he never reflected the manchild aspect of his character, everybody needs to have in mind that he spent more than a decade in prison and his mind got stuck in the day his best friend got killed, not much chance for character growth there.
And that's why I think that Ben should play Sirius Black. He did an amazing job playing Billy Russo(crazy murderer), that acting would be amazing for the role of Sirius after he escaped Azkaban. And charming Sirius, the loving Sirius? Have you seen Ben Barnes smile? My heart melts. 🥰
@@milicadjuric8126 yeah they would be great. I think Sebastian Stan would be also a good choice for Sirius.
I've always pictured Ben Barnes as Sirius, Andrew Garfield as Remus, Aaron Taylor Johnson as James and Karen Gillan as Lily ❤
Daniel Radcliffe should definitely be James Potter.
True
Yes
Bonnie Wright Lily Potter
I think the kids in the films should be the adults and if there are more than one they can be preffesors
The idea of the 5'5" Daniel Radcliffe bullying the 6'2" Adam Driver is hilarious to me tho lol
Dobby goes to the main man himself: Andy Serkis
I agree
YES, he is the man when making iconic voices we've never heard before.
Yes! 100%!
Love the cast again. With every single character I go: "omg, that's perfect!", and i usually don't go "omg" a lot. I like Ewan McGregor as Lockhart, but I think he would've also made a good Lupin because he can just pull out those sad puppy eyes (initially no pun intended but after I tought about it I stand by it).
Can't wait for Prisoner of Askaban!
Skyliav Ewan is almost in his 50s though. Lupin is only 33 in prisoner of azkaban.
@@adrianamartinez8959
Both Lupin and Sirius are supposed to have had a rough life, though, which would show, making them look older. Gary Oldman was in his mid 40s while playing Sirius. Sure, both roles will require a bit of make-up, aging them, but hiring older actors wouldn't be a bad thing
@@riptobias they hired older actors in the movies so that they close to Alan Rickman in age. I hope they don't do that again if Harry Potter is ever remade, because the fact that all 4 marauders and Snape died very young, is one of the biggest tragedies in HP and that is not really evident in the movies.
For a series it would be better, cheaper and more fitting to cast younger actors who are the appropriate age. Lockhart is also supposed to be pretty young, no? Late twenties?
He’d bring a more wisen version of the character and he’d make a great mentor as well.
Ewan McGregor was actually my choice for lupin-I think he’d be great at playing a warm exterior that hides a life of torment and pain that’s unique to lupin.
I’ve got a choice for Sirius Black that you’ll probably disagree with though-Matt Smith. I think he’d do a great job at playing the boyish arrogance that came with Sirius, as well as the kind and understanding aspect of his character that only Harry feels comfortable sharing his darkest secrets with from his work as the doctor. As well as this, we’ve also seen him have great chemistry with child actors and draw really good performances out of them, which I think considering the children’s role in the story would be essential.
(Also if Alex Kingston is going to be Mrs Weasley then we know that those two would have a great presence on screen together).
James Poole i agree matt is awsome
I totally agree with Ewan as Lupin...he immediately came to mind when i think of recasting the actors
Daniel Radcliff actually expressed interest in playing Sirius if the movies were ever remade. I can't say if he'll be good at that or not but it would be a fun thing.
Oh my god the Mrs Weasley Sirius dynamic with Alex Kingston and Matt Smity omg.
I agree with Ewan as Lupin an actor like him deserves more than a one-off role
I can't see Mads' Lucius being afraid of Voldemort. I could see anyone else's Lucius being afraid of Mads' Voldemort, though.
His role in Rogue one - he definitely can look timid and afraid when he needs to.
@@mrdollard3859 Touche.
Don’t forget how Mads’ Mikkelsen’s villainous yet fearful-natured villains fit the description for Lucius Malloy (ie: Kaecilius, Le Chiffre)

Whichever twins they cast for the Weasley twins have to have a good dynamic, and a mischievous side to them. Like how the Phelps twins skipped school and such.
I think it's important they're real twins too - not the same actor applied with a greenscreen.
Original Weasley twins are not actual twins, nor even closely related. Or so is what they said in interviews :P

If Ewan McGregor was Lockhart, I would like one of his signature, “Hello There” phrases thrown in.
I think Lockhart opens his first DADA lesson like that
You know what is so cool about casting Chalomet as young Vodemort...he may actually be able to play him as the Adult version too!! What a thought!!!
Even I love to see Mad Mikkelsen as Lucius Tom Felton himself said that he want to play Lucius so.. I would give him this role!
Tom Felton would be a bit too young, still. Lucius is around 6 years older than Snape, Lily, James, Remus and Sirius.
I like the idea of Tom Felton but cillian Murphy or Daniel Craig would be great
I feel like Daniel Craig would be a great Lucius Malfoy!
Jon Hamm looks like Lucius too

Well now that Mikkelsen is Grindelwald, the gig is up for grabs
I thought you were gonna say Catherine Tate as Molly Weasly, but Alex Kingston is a really good option too.
I love Cathrine Tate as a choice too, so much.
Seriously, I think Catherine Tate would be better for the role than Alex Kingston. Can you imagine Martin Freeman and Catherine Tate as the Weasley's?
I was like oh yes catherine ta....what?!
I think Catherine Tate would make a perfect Professor Trelawney.
@@lower_than_furries9727 Or... this is a wild idea and I am not sure I like it myself, but I would actually love to see what Catherine Tate would make out of Umbridge. I just feel like she could do so much with that role.

Mary C you are soooooooo right. He has the perfect charisma, and even experience with the long blonde hair xD
He would be so hot omg
YESSSSSSSS
I might've preferred him as Lockhart rather than Lucius if I'm honest.
Yesssssssss!
So, for Moaning Myrtle how about Susie from stranger things? She’s has the load voice for it and looks the part.
Great point!
The only problem with Mads as Lucius Malfoy is that I’d constantly be rooting for evil to win cause UMMMMMMMFFFFF
Genie Hossain you just need to see Mads in: de groenne slagtere, find it and tell me he is hot lol
Lol that's me and Jason isaacs so i totally get it 👌
I think Tom Holland would make a great Cedric because of his nice-guy personality.
literally wa thinking this as reading the coments
wait yes
And we would definitely cry over his death rather than in the movie
The movie scene was sad with Amos devastated, but still, this Cedric was mostly a meh if you've never read the books
If cinnamonroll Tom would play Cedric for this... we'd need a lot of tissues for the death scene
Me and my Mom was talking about this a few weeks ago and thought the same thing
Guilherme Melo They could just cgi him taller then ha
Ian McKellen as Dumbledore is a missed opportunity

@@halfbloodwitch8545 because they did not wanted to play the two biggest wizards in modern popculture at the SAME FKIN TIME!

Amelie Petersobln Yes.
Hahaha Oh My Gosh! XD

Personally, I think Mads' brother Lars Mikkelsen would be PERFECT for Voldemort.
Castellan of Gundabad woaw. You’re so right. Except his voice might be a bit too low pitched
I've only heard him as the voice actor for grand admiral Thrawn in Star Wars, but from that I can definitely agree with this casting, the low chilling voice, yet the way he can strike fear, and have an ominous presence.
Honestly (and I know he's not british) I'd get Jared Leto for Voldemort, he's just the right amount of creepy to nail the role
@@AceTheSkylord Neither are Lars and Mads Mikkelsen. They are Danish.
@@christinaj.jensen4805 I think what is important with casting foreign actors is that the accent doesn't come through in their preformance.
I love how you casted Emma Thompson for McGonagol but she would make a lovely Molly as well ! So warm but still firm. Like her roll in Love Actually
When you said "Doctor Who" my brain goes "Catherine Tate for MollyCatherine Tate for MollyCatherine Tate for MollyCatherine Tate for MollyCatherine Tate for MollyCatherine Tate for MollyCatherine Tate for Molly".
Alex is a good choice too. She is amazing. But Catherine as a ginger bossy mom is an idea that grows on me...

@@caitie226 This may be a little odd, but I imagined Imelda Stauton as Molly!
I thought the same thing! I got so excited for a second. Alex is brilliant too, but listen if the entire franchise is recast you HAVE to put Catherine Tate in there somewhere, right?
I think Alex is far too sassy and sexy for Molly, Katherine Tate 100% yes
Completely agree! I feel like Alex would make a great McGonagall or Narcissa Malfoy because she's so suave
Okay, here me out, but you know who would make a perfect Voldemort? Gary Oldman! He is an absolute master of eerie, physically chameleon-like performances, and honestly, I don't think his previous performance as Sirius Black would be immersion breaking whatsoever. Watch his titular performance in Bram Stroker's Dracula (1992) and you'll see it.
And this might seem like a left-field choice, but I could see Michael C. Hall as Remus Lupin. Hall does brooding (yet strangely gentle) solemnity very well and his British accent is decent enough. There's also something very wolfish and loping about his physicality; I can totally see him wearing a sad smile and a shabby tweed coat. He would have to overcome his image as Dexter Morgan, but it could be done.
One more: Anthony Hopkins could bring something unique to Horace Slughorn. He's got that Shakespearean academic quality to him and a certain stodgy gravitas that feels right.
i cant see gary oldman as voldemort:( he's very sirius black
LMAO I would never be able to see Gary Oldman the same if he was Voldemort
Sajun Becker unfortunately that would make wayyyy to many people very very angry, as he is the one that brought Sirius Black to life
Gary Oldman was good as Mason Verger in Hannibal.
anthony hopkins as sluggy sounds AMAZING tbh
Harry: Darren Criss
Ron: Joey Richter
Hermione: Bonnie Gruesen
Draco: Lauren Lopez
Ginny: Jamie Lynn Beatty
Snape: Joe Moses
Voldemort: Joe Walker
Change my mind
Ryan Van Wolferen someone of culture I see 😏
yes!!!
Snape: *Alan Rickman's reanimated corpse*
Andy Serkis as Dobby?? I know he's Gollum too but, just imagine...
Actually when Dobby had to be played, Andy Serkis was first asked to be his actor.
exactly what I thought!
I adore Mads and I think he'd be an incredible Voldemort (he's so good at playing bone-chilling evil) so my pick is Michael Fassbender for Lucius
Or Cillian Murphy... actually yeah, Cillian for Lucius
@@hoblerone7882 my god YES!
When casting Molly and mentioning Dr Who, I thought you were going to say Catherine Tate.
SHE IS NATURAL RED
When you started talking about Dr. Who and Molly, I immediatly had Catherine Tate in mind and was a little bit disappointed about River :')
I don’t feel like Alex has the warmth that’s needed for the role but Catherine Tate would be 🤩🤩
How can Alex Kingston be molly?
Molly is white
Catherine is also natural redhead and has great hair
My personal choice for Lockhart is Chris Pine. After seeing him as Cinderella’s prince in Into the Woods, I think he’s perfect for the role!
Yes yes and HELL YES!
There's only one detractor: he's American
He's a bit young for the role, but that's my only disagreement with that choice

You better come up with one hellluva choice for Voldemort when we reach Goblet of Fire.
But with the casting decision you've already made... i think you could nail it.
Maybe. Just MAYBE.. Christian Coulson.
He didn’t seem to like Coulson but I agree, I love Coulson and he would be perfect!
Ben Barnes
God of Evil mark strong
The Scottish dude from Kingsman. Merlin. Young Tom could be Eggsy...
Alan Tudyk is someone who I think could make a great Dobby! He is amazing at voice acting, and I think he could really bring something new and funny, but also very kind and loveable to Dobby's character
I agree with this, wholeheartedly. If not him, Critical Role's Matt Mercer or Sam Reigel would also be good choices.
I can imagine Mark Hamill doing Dobby’s voice, remember how he did Joker in BTAS?
James McAvoy as Sirius, his performance in split was amazing and he would be able to portray the years of pain he suffered in Azkaban as Sirius, with the level of loyalty of being James's best friend and Harry's Godfather. And I would cast Benedict Cumberbatch as Lupin. He could most definitely be able to bring the tortured werewolf teacher to life. His facial expressions and the way he's able to shift his voice would make for an amazing werewolf transformation. Being that Cumberbatch is so versatile I can also view him as Voldemort. His commanding presence would make for an iconic Dark Lord. I also think Keira Knightley as bellatrix would be amazing, I thought she was great in a dangerous method and her acting skills would be awesome as the insane right hand witch of Voldemort.
5:45 HE'S PERFECT he would give the exact energy you need for a character like Lucius Malfoy!
Great choices, especially Martin Freeman and Mads Mikkelsen. Ewan McGregor can also be a great Lockheart. Nice video!
I haven't even watched it yet and I'm excited!
Edit 1: Omg when you started on Molly and said Doctor Who I thought you were going to say Catharine Tate (Donna.) She's a great Molly in my eyes but I can also see Alex Kingston now that you've made your argument. Also yes on Martin Freeman!
Yes, I think Catharine Tate would be much better than Alex Kingston. Alex Kingston is a good actor, but I don't see her as Molly at all....
My reaction exactly, Catherine Tate would be an awesome Molly. As a matter of fact I’d be fine with some Donna Noble dialogue for Molly as well. Just imagine her yelling ARE YOU HAVING ME ON? to the twins
@@jackdaw99 YESSS!
@@mythra7174 I wouldn't call Molly a jerk, she's a little harsh sometimes but she's a super loving mother and only wants to protect her family. She's one of the lost real characters in the series to me.
@@Sentariana Agreed! I think once he made his argument I could see it bit I'd still have Catherine as my Molly choice.
OMG... imagine Ewan McGregor's classic McGregor smile... he would make the PERFECT Lockhart! I legit kind of need this to happen!
Gilderoy Lockhart stepping into the class:
"Hello there"
These are delightful! I know this is a big project, but golly, please do consider tackling the Percy Jackson books next.
I was trying to figure out which character to cast Logan Lerman as...! Tom Riddley?... Or the character who Robert Pattinson plays in Goblet of Fire(my mind went blank on the character's name)...?
Ooh, I would LOVE that.
"Hello there"
"Professor Lockhart" *pulls out four wands"
This cast is phenomenal. I also thought that maybe Cillian Murphy could be a wicked Lucius Malfoy, so that he could show that poise and temperament through his behaviour
as much as i love mads mikkelsen, I think he's a bit too old to be Lucius. Lucius is just a few years older than snape&Harry's parents, so he should be in his mid~late 30's in the second book.
As much as i love most of the choices you make, I feel like a lot of these casting choices are based on the movies, not the books :/ (like the 'Adam Driver being too young to be Snape' comment, although you did correct it in this video) A lot of the roles were significantly aged up in the movies, so I was hoping this would show some castings of age-appropriate actors...
He's in his forties
@@fatherfountain1906 Lucius was born in 1954, making him 38 in 1992. Mads Mikkelsen is in his 50's now.
@@RanAcid OK. I seem to recall him being in a news article in one of the books which says he's 42
@@fatherfountain1906 you're right but that book was like 5th or 6th
@@RanAcid k
You said Doctor Who and I was like "Yes! Donna as Mrs. Weasl-oh..."
Imagine
I think Seamus Gorman should play Tom Riddle
That would have been jokes
Perfect, just perfect
YES
yes please
Again, I will 'vote' for Daniel Radcliff and Emma Watson as the Grangers
I'd also assume, if someone was going to do a Potter show it'd probably be HBO, which did do big productions like Game of Thrones.
A third point would be that, if I was making a Harry Potter TV show I'd expand to show characters such as Luna or Cedric in earlier seasons, not only would it help pad out a ten episode season (if we assume ten episodes, about an hour apiece, that's a lot longer than the films had) but it'd give us a chance to get to know characters outside the main trio and help build them up before they truly interact with the main protagonists, similar to how the first series of His Dark Materials brought Will Parry in early.
the issue is though that you never really see Cedric or Luna until Book 4 and 5 respectively.
Cedric is talked about a bit a little in book three during some of the quidditch matches but that is about it so it might be better to focus on them when they are actually present in the story, rather than trying to force them into a story that didn't include them in the first place
@@jasonmiller2379 They should still be present in the relevant lesson scenes, as they are Hogwarts students. It could be a good opportunity to provide some references such as the Quibbler without actually mentioning them, e.g. having Luna read or carry a copy around with her but only see it briefly as the characters in that scene pass her in the hallway, or something similar. You could do a similar thing with floo travel and apparation -- have them in the background, or used without explanation (like with Dumbledore in the start of the first book).
@@jasonmiller2379 cedric does appear in prisoner of azkaban during the first quidditch match and i think that bit is very important bc it establishes who he is as a character early on
@@msclrhd Yeah, that's sort of what I mean, have them show up in the background, help flesh out the world in a way the books and films don't because they focus directly on Harry while a TV show would have more time to devote to stuff like that.
Add Ginny to that list, even when book Ginny is better defined, she still comes back into the series until book 5, it’s hard to buy her relationship with Harry for a lot of people. So just make her more prominent since the beginning, like don’t make her Harry’s love interest right away, but just USE her
When you said Doctor Who my brain immediately went to Catherine Tate as Molly.
SAME! she would have been great
Exactly! I feel like she would have been a much better choice
Yeeeeesss!! As soon as I saw the title of Part 1 I knew Timothée Chalamet was going to be in this series. And him as young Voldemort would be PERFECT. So on point. Honestly, I love this cast so far! I'm so excited to see the rest🤗
Timothee is French.
Tom is British.
It doesn't work.
@@Firespawnable This is why he is Regulus!!! No one can change my mind!! lol
Didn't he supposed to be Young Regulus Black?
when timothée came on screen i got so excited omg i love him
I will restate it again: Peter Capaldi for "Mad-Eye" Moody. I think that is genuinely perfect Casting.
If not Moody, I think he'd also make an excellent Horace Slughorn.
Capaldi would make an excellent Moody! I always picture Slughorn as Stephen Fry from his description in the books though.
Not Slughorn, Moody. He'd be perfect for Moody
He's a bit too skiny and old to play moody in my opinion, so unless he can put on some weight and bulk for the series I don't think he'd be right for it but that's just my opinion
Dunkbuscus Gaming He's not bulky in the books. He's 6'2 and 183 pounds. That's about average.
Wanna see Hugh Laurie for Mad-Eye Moody.
I can't get over the sheer brilliance of Ewan McGregor as Lockhart! He would be beyond perfect! I can really see how instead of being just portrayed as a narcicist, airhead and a fraud, Lockhart's charming ways, the basis of his manipulitive skills would really shine!
PS: I think he would also bring the darker aspects of Lockhart, especially in his reveal scene, to the next level. I could totally imagine being genuinely creeped out.
Tom Hiddleston for Remus Lupin. I've been thinking about it since I saw the previous video and i really think he'd be a perfect choice. Karen Gillian for Lily would be a dream come true for me that I've been fan-casting her as Lily since she was in Doctor Who, and like, who has not?
For Sirius I'm not sure, I think Gary Oldman did a great job, and since he is one of my favourite characters I wouldn't be happy with just anyone. Hypothetically speaking lol. One thing I'm sure of though, is that I don't want Ben Barnes to play him, so tired of people fan casting him as Sirius. I just don't see it.
Oh my gosh TOMMMM!! He would totally nail the caring-yet-competent vibe
I actually think Ewan McGregor would make a better Remus than a Lockhart.
why did I think you chose Putin for Lucius Malfoy in the thumbnail?
Me too! Totally looked like Putin.
Fun Fact: That actor actually played the Russian President on House of Cards ;)
Sorry, correction, that is his brother...
right???
Agree with a lot of these, but Timothee Chalamet is 100% Regulus Black
Yea idk why no one's talking about it ❤
I don't know, Lupin feels more like Tom Hiddleston than Benedict Cumberbatch for me. He would make a good Voldemort. Oor Lucius. After all we have seen him with blonde hair haven't we? And actually I would cast Michael Sheen as Peter Pettigrew. (Uh oh and Tennant as Sirius and here we go.)
I'd cast Cumberbatch as Snape rather than Driver
Heyy you predicted Tom Hiddleston as Lupin!!
This is all I've ever needed
It’s pronounced Uwin “Ewan”
Perfect choice though he’s so funny
No it isn't. I'm called Ewan and he pronounced it right.
@@ringodragon if you watch interveiws and that they prounice it Uwin
Thank you! and my apologies for my pronunciation. Seems I've been pronouncing wrong my whole life.. oops.
Bryan Seeker no worries man! Keep up the good! Was super excited to see this uploaded. Can’t wait for the next one
@@ringodragon No. I'm saying that that Ewans name is pronounced that way
For me, Chamber of Secrets is and will forever be THE BEST Harry Potter film. Just my opinion, though.
It's my favourite as will.
Prisoner of Azkaban:
Aidan Turner as Sirius!
He is described in the books as the most handsome of the marauders, almost like a hearthrob that no girls can get their hands on. He has a dark, mysterious aura about him (he’s a Scorpio ♏️ by the way so that would make sense) but with a good heart. I feel like Aidan could pull this off perfectly. He looks as Sirius is described and he would be sooo good in the reveal scene in the shrieking shack, being able to be scary with his mangled hair, tattoos and like a real psychotic prisoner who is ready for pure revenge! And then as the series goes on he could really develop the character as JK did. Ben Barnes would be okay but I feel he wouldn’t portray the ‘tortured’ quality of the character as good as Aidan. Maybe for a teen prequel Ben would be great but for a Harry Potter reboot it would be better for Aidan to portray him as an adult.
Blue Ruby omg him or ben barnes!!!!!
YES, thank you!
UH YES
Ben is older than aidan 🤦
@@fatherfountain1906 By two puny years, doesn't really make a difference in appearance.
"Ee-wan McGregor"
*TIME TO COMMIT A HATE CRIME*
Scrolled through the comments hoping to find this!! It was like hearing polystyrene rubbing together hearing that!
It hurt so bad hearing that
"your breaking my heart"
Alex Kingston as Molly Weasley : what an amazing idea ! Now I can't think of anyone else for recasting this character ! :D
Can imagine her dueling with Bellatrix
"Not my daughter ! you *****!'.
Sam Riegel as Dobby. Just based on his voice of Nott the Brave from Critical Role.
Bidet, Critter!
Bidet, and either him or Liam would be perfect.
Bidet! Now I'm just trying to fit the whole cast into this. I could totally see Liam as Lupin, maybe Laura as Tonks (though that seems weird to me for out of character reasons). Tal as Barty Crouch Sr maybe, or Mad-Eye
When he talks about not casting anyone specific for Dobby, all i could think was:
"Cast Matthew Mercer, Cast Matthew Mercer,Cast Matthew Mercer,Cast Matthew Mercer,Cast Matthew Mercer!!"
He would do an amazing job as Dobby
Viktoria Ovedia Zorth 2.0
AMEN!!!!
When I started watching this series I was thinking "recasting potter is dumb and making a new series is dumb" and all that, but once you started going through your list I was 100% on board with all of them. You've hit the jackpot.
Making a new series is not dumb. The current series is maybe 20% of the books. There's that whole 80% that hasn't been adapted. I could sit and watch a whole episode watching McGonagall teach kids how magic works. There's so much left unexplained in the movies but the detailed world is why we love the books.
I'm gonna reclarify now that I'm coming back to rewatch this series - the reason why I was against a remake originally was because I grew up with the movies, and I felt like a remake would make the movies obsolete somewhat. If there's a better adaptation then why revisit the old version?
At the same time, as someone who hasn't ever been able to read every book, a new adaptation that is more complete would be something I'd love to see. I loved all the downtime in the books that is just dedicated to world building, with all the chapters dedicated to random classes that don't matter. I could watch an endless number of episodes of a miniseries that is just harry and the gang going about their daily school life.
However, these days I don't think I'd want to see a new Harry Potter adaptation because in my opinion JK Rowling is an awful person and I don't want to put more money into her pockets. Luckily I bought my copies of the books and a blu-ray set before she revealed her ideology, so I'll just continue to experience the story through those instead.
I could also image James D'Arcy playing Arthur Weasly. He is tall and has the right humour.
Okay, I love the idea of Timothee as young Tom, but hear me out: Hero Fiennes as Tom
Omg yes!! How come I hadn't thought of it? It would all come full circle and it would be awesome
He actually played young atom Riddle in Half Blood prince so it would be AMAZING if he were to go on to play the older Tom riddle
That’s a great idea too!
@@SidebySidebySophie yeah, that's what gave me the idea😂
He has the acting range of a watermelon.
When you started describing Arthur - Martin Freeman popped in my head and then you said it. It's the little things in life that make one happy!
Sorry no. Mad Mikkelson for Voldemort himself. He can do quiet menacing so well.
Benedict cumberbatch would be perfect for voldy
Yeah Mikkelson is way to sinister to just play a Malfoy
Saoirse Ronan as Luna Lovegood IS WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS
Luna is my favorite character and Saoirse my favorite actress, but she is too old :/
Hm, I think they should cast an unknown actor for the role of Luna in such case, like they did the first time and Evanna Lynch was a real gem.
She could play Helena Ravenclaw maybe (the gray lady)
MARTIN FREEMAN for ARTHUR WEASLEY oh gosh I laughed so hard, it’s so perfect. Love it.
Timothee Chalamet as young Voldemort has me howling but it's so perfect. Just my opinion but he also has that pretentious pretty-boy air that really fits Tom Riddle Jr to a T. A+ 10/10.
