You can lower the lever by unscrewing the mmx on the bar and place the lever further down. No need for it to sit that high if you dislike it.
This is the solution for my short inseam and Orbea Wild FS with an obstruction placed in the post tube to prevent burn through during the welding manufacturing process. It is too bad one requires me to route their cable through the frame because no doubt that will be a nightmare. Thanks for sharing this vid , much appreciated. :-)
Who would have thought that a short insertion length would be such a good thing
Thanks for this Jed. Bought one after watching your video 🤙🏼
Very good looking and well designed low stack dropper.
So let's get started. Love it
A nice look at this dropper. I think it appears pretty good!
best install vid on youtube dude. thanks
So let’s get started! Nice. :)
After using the one up 210 mm dropper I will say that it is cheaply constructed with a poor sealing system that constantly needs lubrication. Spend the extra $100 and get a fox transfer.
Not used a Fox post before but have only heard good things off people who do.
Love me a JebMTB viddy...say Jed, what are you liking dropper wise these days? 170mm and up. Thanks brotha
The OneUp and PNW Loam are both good, if you want to spend more then the BikeYoke Revive 2.0 is very good.
@@jedmtb Looks like the new Woldtooth Resolve is a solid option for highly engineered dropper post---only problem is the top end of the Resolve is 70g (or more) than the OneUp v2...even though I could lower a 200mm Resolve 20mm in my seat tube (currently running a 180mm OneUp), the added 70g+ of mass at the head-unit doesn't seem to offset the fact I lowered the post a measly 20mm. Their claim of having "mass lowered when post is dropped, WolfTooth Resolve is the best" or whatever the marketing told us.
I'm a fan that it clicks on full up/down though.
Is there any web pages to check your bike for the right size ?
Some bike brands will show the max post size on their website but most don't in which case you'll need to measure your frame. Here is a dimensions chart tinyurl.com/4xk5jy6r and a length selector tinyurl.com/bp8r2emd
Hey Jed, is there enough tilt adjustment?
Have you tried the wolftooth lever? Heard it was a good lever as well
Yes, I've used the light action version which has been very good.
I have been running original Cube post which I think is something like Brand-X and I don't have any side to side play when fully extended. However I had a crash just few days ago and the inner shaft moved inside the outer post shaft. I managed to straighten it back, but I assume maybe pins got damaged?
Worth checking the guide pins as they're normally made of soft brass.
Do you have issues lowering the post while riding? I cannot lower my post unless I remove my weight from the post first. I've tried torquing the seat post with a torque wrench but nothing I do resolves this...
Mine did it at first because I didn't leave enough slack on the cable in my frame and under compression it was pulling the cable too tight, if you can't get it working I'd consider contacting OneUp as their customer service is normally excellent.
@@jedmtb Thank you!!!! I adjusted the barrel adjustment in both directions and it is fixed!
Does the seat post pull up when say you lift your bike up by the seat. My ks Lev does that and I hate it...
No it doesn't, I've had a few posts in the past which did and your right its annoying.
I've ridden mine for a couple of months. Easy install, etc. I just began having an issue with it extending all the way. I'm going to try checking the air pressure by removing the seat to access the valve under the seat post head. One Up states it should be between 250 and 300 psi. Question: have you had any issues with it losing pressure?
Hi Jason, I haven't had any issues with my two posts yet, did you have any luck checking the pressure on yours?
@@jedmtb Im curious on reliability issues of this post as well. I also heard there is a little bit of lateral play, have you found this as well?
@@jsniderhan Try unscrewing the seal collar and adding a little grease under it to help add extra lubrication. The side to side wiggle is normal and is not a problem.
Nice review I'm thinking to buy one
But I got one question
How do I know what pressure to use?
The pressure determines the speed, so you set it based on how fast you like the return speed.
@@jedmtb ok thanks
Alright man, I'm going to be replacing my KS Lev dropper with this one, will I be able to use my existing lever and cables etc?
Hi, KS have a number of posts and levers so it does depend on which you have but yes you should be able to.
Hello, i have the same exact dropper (180mm) and it has developed some noticable play over 4 months time approximately. It started off great with minor play which I couldn't notice while riding but now i can and it's pretty annoying. Also when it's fully extended and i get off the saddle while riding over roots/stones it sort of rumbles/make noise. Has anyone else experienced this and knows how to fix it? Thanks :)
The do a set of oversized pins for removing play that can develop. uk.oneupcomponents.com/products/dropper-v2-oversized-pin-kit
@@jedmtb Thank you! I'll look into it.
Can you stop the seat on every position along the travel?
Yes
Did you use a standard SRAM matchmaker after all? Looks like it. Sadly the MMX version is sold out and my reverb just broke so I need a new post asap. Thanks :)
Yes I just used a standard matchmaker off my reverb
@@jedmtb thank you so much this helped a lot
Hi there, I’ve watched your video I’ve just bought the sram mmx to fit on my sram level T brake lever how does it fit to the brake lever clamp or do I have to buy the sram brake lever clamp
Hi, for the level T you would need to buy the two bolt style Avid matchmaker clamp. www.wiggle.co.uk/avid-matchmaker
I’m having problems with the Oneup dropper post it’s coming up slowly I’ve been told to pump it 250-300 psi that is the only thing I haven’t done
@@seanmcnamara9029 Yes, more pressure will increase the speed.
What brakes have you got on your mtb.
@@seanmcnamara9029 They are SRAM code.
Mine just failed on me 2 days ago. Goes up and down on its own.
That sucks sorry to hear that, have you had any luck getting it replaced yet?
Jed MTB Getting in contact with worldwide cyclery to process a warranty exchange.
Did you ever figure out if this was a defective post?
In my experience the issue you were having is normally caused by the cable and housing having an issue and not am issue with the seatpost itself.
Cool video and nice explanation! But the wheezing breathing really isn't music to my ears tho.
My apologies.
You need to do a Darth Vader overhaul
