    The original V2 has been my favorite dropper posts because it's stack height and adjustable travel allows me to run the absolute longest drop on my frame.

    I am riding the V2 210mm for about 2 years. Yes, it has a play, but it does not rattle. All the maintenance I had to do is wipe it with a rag... sometimes I spray a touch of silicone (automotive) on a rag and clean it with that.
    Realistically, the more the travel the more extra unwanted movement you are going to have. My ebike has a SDG Tellis. Zero movement, but it's 150mm. That's not enough for my height on my normal bike.
    I might just order one of these. 240mm travel :O is crazy...

  • @unclewickedmtb2023

    Yes! Hopefully it doesn’t acquire the rotational knock noise that the V2 had. I had to go to oversize bushings before I even had it for a year.

    Not sure why it doesn't get as much love on the internet, but the wolftooth dropper has been by far the best dropper post experience that i've had when compared to the V2 oneup and manic x-fusion. (Though the manic is incredible for the price imo)

      This is a solid shout. I think the Loam is a difficult one up (pun intended). I really like the tool less/part less travel adjustment on the Loam. On paper there's a 59g difference for a 34.9 200/210mm dropper with a price difference of $70 dollars. That's more than the cost of a wolf tooth dropper lever. Reliability/durability is subjective depending on crash/ usage frequency. Would be interested in cost/ease of serviceability and areas that could justify that price difference. PNW has a lifetime warranty, ONEup is 2 years. My loam has been faultless for 2 years and I'm sure the OneUp is as well but $70 can go a long way for other things. Curious to say the least.

      The Loam is so good. Never ever worry about it not returning all the way. That's my biggest fear going back to a cartridge type dropper. I like the sound of the OneUp in terms of weight and length though.

  • @jg2wheels
    @jg2wheels 6 месяцев назад +1

    The new cartridge isn't air adjustable? I kind of like that. Been well pleased with my V2 version and would probably consider the V3 (definitely over a PNW.)

    I wish OneUp would have changed the white/silver ring around the top, and just made it all black. The V2 has it as well. Is it a metal ring?

    • @GokkunGuru

      It’s a silver coil ring that keeps the wiper seal tight wrapped around the stanchion, kinda like a mouth wrapped around a stiff cock in a BBBJ situation.

      We think we like this lever feel better initially…but it’s gonna take quite a bit of time to test the durability claims and see how the fore/aft play feels and if any side to side play ever develops.

    • @piciu256
      @piciu256 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@TheLoamWolfHow about the seat feel? I used to have a 180 Oneup V2 but decided against getting it for my new bike, since it wasn't smooth at all when pushing down, unless you made sure to be parallel, plus the aforementioned play, I didn't notice the side to side, every post has it really, but the fore-aft movement was annoying, not really in the way that I could feel it, but because I could hear it knocking when riding with the seat up momentarily. Now on a Bikeyoke Divine, while the lever feel is not the smoothest out there, the post itself is really smooth no matter the conditions, imo there is no getting around the low bushing overlap a "lowest stack height on the market" requires, that's what results in all the issues I mentioned. Depends what your priorities are, but for me an expensive product should feel premium in use.
      Plus the "non serviceable" cartridge is a nuisance to me really, the old one could be rebuilt actually, believe it or not, I did rebuild mine once it got slightly saggy after 2 years, but the new one lost the Schrader valve and seems to be crimped shut, so that's no longer the case, for me that's a bit of a deal breaker, I don't like unnecessarily disposable products.

    Do you still need to lift your ass from the saddle, press the lever and only then you can push it down like on the v2 or does this version go down if you press the lever while sitting on it?

    • @mongkeefee5576
      @mongkeefee5576 6 месяцев назад +1

      That's strange, I've been running the V2 on 3 of my personal bikes for years, and have installed them on both my sister's and an exgirlfriend's bike, and none of them have this strange issue, of needing to lift your ass before lowering the saddle, that you are describing. Is it possible that you have a defective unit, a strange kink in the cable somewhere, or maybe a certain type of frame that has the seat tube at a really slack angle?

    • @BasicBodThor

    That's all well and nice for full-sus bikes, but as a hardtail enjoyer, for me the additional damping of the PNW Coast Dropper, means it's still superior on hardtails, and unfortunately appears to still have ZERO competition.

    • @usernamefromhell
      @usernamefromhell 6 месяцев назад +2

      @@jasper_of_puppets Don't knock it 'til you try it.
      When it's down and out of the way, you get a nimble responsive hardtail you can mess around on, but when it's up and you have to spend some time sitting on the saddle just pedaling, it takes the edge off of small roots and bumps.
      What amazes me is that the Coast is the ONLY suspension dropper on the market. Thankfully it's from PNW and it's pretty good, but still.
