The majority of the watches I feature are in the affordable range but I do try and get some less affordable watches as well.
Most of the watches that I feature I have bought with my own money. I buy them to enjoy and wear but I also to feature them on this channel.

This has very quickly become one of my favourite and most worn watches in my collection
That's a stunning watch James, they knew how to design dials then. Coincidentally I have a 1938 Swiss pocket watch issued to Turkish Railway Co that my great granddad received as a gift when working in the Irish consulate in Istanbul during WWII! Funny coincidence that destiny has brought me to Turkey where I now live. Even stranger, I still had the warranty receipt and the watchmaker was still in business run by 2 old brothers in their 90's up to about 10 years ago when I got it serviced! I can't imagine that they're still around now, but their shop was full of old watches and cuckoo clocks like you might see in old movies. Fantastic place! Well that was a huge tangent I went on, so looking forward to seeing the full review on this one!

Great piece, I buy alot of vintage Tissot, them and Omega were sister companies long before the Swatch mega corp with Tissot handling movement reserach and building and using the same calibres as Omega but with different names.
They have some amazing watches. New and vintage. This one in particular really stood out to me.

Really nice looks, they manage to get a lot on the dial without it looking too crowded or busy. Tissot is a good brand that does not do enough marketing wise, they just sit quietly between the good lower end brands and the higher priced watches,and thats a shame,as it is a quality brand.
They are an interesting brand. I like lots from them but not many I want to own. This one however really stood out to me and continues to do so now that I own it.

The Tissot 1938 is a gorgeous watch. I’m so glad you found one for a good price and now have it 👍🏻it truly is a beautiful timepiece. I have my sights set on a vertex M100A dirty dozen watch . It’s expensive but vertex has military history, one of the original 12 brands making military watches in ww2 . Now I just have to find it own the pre owned market for a good price lol . I have my eye on the Vertex too but would need to find it at an amazing and unlikely low price.

in your opinion do you think the vertex is worth the $2,600 US dollar price tag? One of my buddies told me it’s almost as much as the Tudor Ranger and he would get a Tudor for that price range. Tudor is a beautiful watch also. Do you think the vertex can compare in quality and workmanship? Sorry for all the questions. Thank you James and God bless.

For years and years i loved Tissot. Before i knew anything abt watch collecting i admired this brand.
Today, from the eta group my fav is Certina. Proper tool watches..
I have one Tissot in my collection and it had some issues. I just want to say that their customer service is nothing short but great!
This is a great looking watch and a beautiful movement but not my personal taste. Still im looking forward to your full review. Maybe you can change my mind as you did in the past.. 😊

Love this watch I have had my eye on it for a while now but its price has jumped way too high for me to be comfortable.
That’s how I felt too. Thankfully I found this one at a more reasonable price second hand.

A very nice watch, but to expensive for me here i Sweden it will cost me about 21399 SEK, in AUD 3 119,98. But it is beautiful. I own a Tissot Gent XL quartz that i am very pleased with.
It was for me too. I was lucky to pick this one up used for $1500aud.
Still a lot. But achievable for me.

Great looking watch James. I just don't think i could spend that much on a Tissot because there are so many other great watches in that price range. I only have one Tissot in my collection, it's the Le Locle Automatic Regulator. Cool watch.
It is a stunning watch but I could not justify the rrp either. Thankfully I found this one second hand for less than half that price.

Is it worth triple the price of the gentleman?
I like the Gentleman and have tried it on a few times. But the 1938 is, in my opinion, much nicer.
But I also love the style of this one. So that may influence my answer
