You are the FIRST person on RUclips I’ve heard say that “genetics” plays a role in hair growth and to NOT compare yourself to other girls...this is my ONLY comment EVER on RUclips
I started washing my hair every 3-4 (mostly 3) days and let me tell you! My 4b hair has thanked me! Introducing that hydration and keeping my scalp clean more frequently has helped my hair grow so much faster!
#blacklivesmatter ❤ I'm in Australia, and thankfully, the tragic death of George Floyd has brought much needed attention to the way that Indigenous Australians are treated. It's been horrific ever since the Europeans (British) invaded here 😔
So, I big chopped yesterday and I went through the same emotions and I'm only a day in and so many of my sentiments are similar to yours. I feel free and good about it but today I came on here to just hear other women's stories. Yours resonates with me so much and now I realize that it was actually one of your photos that I used to show my nom what I wanted yesterday lol! Thank you for sharing your journey.
I feel like naturals who big chop have fast results. Instead of transitioning the entire time, I most definitely should have done a big chop🤦🏾♀️ and we won’t talk about the heat damage phase. Great video your hair is gorgeous😍
Girl i feel you on that. My first big chop had grown back within 2.5 years then this last big chop in april and already in two months my hair full and curly and the shrinkage is real with the hair routine I have going on. I tried transitioning and I just couldn't do it. I prefer starting from scratch but from your profile pic your hair looks AMAZING!
One advantage of big chop for me is I got to learn about my hair texture and what works the best while it was short. Now that my hair is longer and thriving I'm growing along and not struggling.
Thanks so much for your content! I’m starting over by cutting off all of my hair color next week bc I really would like to see my full potential hair growth. I’ve been natural since Oct 2018 (Big chopped) and have been wearing a Mohawk with shaved sides, but now I’m wanting to switch it up and let grow out! I’m excited and looking forward to rocking my twa again when I get my hair cut next week!
I can relate to this video so much, especially your short hair journey. I laughed when you said it could finally go up in a bun hahaha I remember feeling on top of the world lol. Your hair is beautiful 😍
Wow this is the first time I’ve ever heard about oxygenating the hair shaft with trims but it makes so much sense! *also maybe try a length check t shirt for measuring your growth now
I've been looking for a hair twin ever since I big chopped but I couldn't find anybody with the same length I have that I can compare to. Then I saw these TWA photos and BINGO. My only thought was, "OMG, there it is. WAIT... So once my hair grows out it's going to turn into ALYSSA MARIE'S GORGEOUS RINGLETS?!?!" Girl I am so excited!!!!!
OMG!! Literally sounds like my hair journey except after 6 months I put keratin😞. Because I am the only light skin at school and everyone laughed. My hair grows super fast though. In a week doing big chop. And this time I am going back to my old school, were my friends hype me up and love me🥰
Hairfinity did the same thing to me! and i stayed away from hair vitamins , but i’ll definitely try the Curls now! love your videos.. BLACKLIVESMATTER ♥️
Hairfinity had my hair shedding SO BAD ! I mean I was losing hair like crazy and I’ve never had anything do my hair like that. I stopped taking them and the shedding stopped.
“When I’m not drinking water I’m drinking alcohol”.... sounds like me + coffee! 😅😅😅 Super helpful tips! The half up half down has been my go to during transitioning. I did several deva cuts vs the big chop, and since the damage tends to be more toward the front, half up half down is a great why to show off your curls in the back half of the hair, and “blend in” the damage with the up part
QUESTION did you ever cut your hair to style it differently while it was still growing out...or is the current state of your hair (layer looking) a result of the shape you chose when you first big choped your hair
Very good video! You explain everything so good. And everything you say, if you think about it. Is common sense. Thank you soo much for this content. One Love 💕
I was trying k18 to see if it would help with the condition of my hair... Till i started cutting my hair in my sleep. I cant find 2 pairs of my hair scissors and have chopped two vhunks out the front that i need to blend back it. Lost over 4 inches 😭
Love this video ❤️❤️!! Am also from the Caribbean so I know exactly what your talking about 🤣 after each washday I leave my hair in twists or braid for the week, but is there a way to know your hair when you don’t do the wash &gos and this is my weekly routine? I also never had short hair and I am not comfortable yet to were my hair out.. #Black Lives Matter ✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿
I'm doing the big chop tomorrow (doing it myself 😶) And this video encouraged me so much! I love your journey and how you tried to enjoy every single phase 🥰 Quick question: did you have any trims in the first 2 years? If so, how often did you trim?
Girl I just found your channel and I am obsessed! I'm going to start a similar curly journey in August, but in the meantime, do you have any tips on maintaining healthy hair while it's blowdried/flat ironed? I haven't used chemicals ever, but I just notice my blow dry is always so dry and sad.
Thank you. I hope your channel thrives. I encourage folks to watch the ads, like, comment, share and subscribe to support the folks that get it and have good content.
I big chopped my hair like a month and a half ago and I constantly go in to cut the straight ends but it seems that when my hair kinda grows out a little bit my ends looses it a little bit of curl definition, like the curl pattern becomes loser than than that of my root. I want to know if it is normal? I also use no heat
I hope this helps, but when your hair gets longer, the weight of the strand is heavier, so that causes the curls to stretch and seem looser. That’s why your curls look looser the longer it gets.
I did my big chop in 2019 and since then it’s keep going growing in a bottle of puff And I don’t know why Yet I am not seeing any results of curls I recently purchase not your mothers products and I see small results at the back of my head but I’m not seen any at the front what do you think could be the cause
I NEED HELP! About a year and 6 months I went bald. Fast forward to now I’ve let my hair grow out and have never had it shaped only trims. My hair shorter in front, mid length on the side, longer in the back. I have measured different points of my head and my strands are about the same length (4a/4 ). When I’m wearing an Afro it all looks pretty much the same length.I’m struggle with pulling the front part of my hair into a bun. I was wondering if anybody else had this and if it’s normal?
Hey, Love you Lmao thanks for your videos. May God bless you. & I saw you’re a libra. So is my bf. And I love him too. How often did you trim your hair after your big chop?

It's true and I feel persons get more attacks when they admit it.

@Hye Kaarlela no we don't
@@beckyfrancis481 this really solidified it for me, transitioning is so annoying bcus both parts need different things, ima start again fr
Yesss Blacklivesmatter I like your hair now but sis you rocked the short hair ❤❤
Tips at 9:00!
Bbslady B thank you
Thanks
A 9 minute intro is crazy
Thank u‼️
Great tips. I feel like a lot of the natural hair youtubers should go back to basics and be giving these beginner tips, including me.

Iron supplements are really great for fine thin hair that breaks easily and for hair growth
It really is because once I started taking them to help my low iron I seen major changes in my hair..
@@shawnJ8035 same‼But don't take it all the time, maybe seven days each month
@@Jennystudioscollectionzz ok thank you! 💜
I have anemia so I have no choice but to take them everyday. I’ve been taking them for two weeks and already noticed my hair has stop shedding.
@@chellyvino Ofcourse,I lacked iron and started to take them and in no time I've seen my skin looking healthier aswell as my hair
just bought the curls liquid vitamin and im excited to see what happens now that I have started a good hair routine, working out and eating better

This was great to see! I cut my hair just like you 2 weeks ago to start my hair journey!

Woah, side note- your skin is absolutely beautiful. You are so blessed.

Omg how much has it grown?? I big chopped July and did it again in September

wheretheywent Do you deep condition and use protein based conditioners regularly? Also use a heat protectant every time before heat styling.
Great video. Which hair style do you do the most?

Hey can you do a update on your wash n go using natural club products and give us a review on how you like it
Hi I have a question for you. What does you use after washing your hair with the cow wash?
I am the worst at eating my veggies! I have been getting a greens powder at Vitamin Shop that gives me my full servings of fruits and vegetables.
Hello! Could you please write me the hair vitamins you re taking? Thank you 🧡
Loved the video! Can we get a step by step video with the products that you used to achieve these curls today? 🤩
Thank you!!! I love your videos, they’re so helpful

How often is it okay to do a wash n go especially if you want to start?
Hey,
Love you Lmao thanks for your videos. May God bless you. & I saw you’re a libra. So is my bf. And I love him too. How often did you trim your hair after your big chop?
every 6 months!
I have another question. Do you still use deva curl products?
There is a lawsuit against them currently. I used their serum shampoo and suffered severe breakage
Thank you so much. I LOVE your channel 💜
Also, you are stunning 👏🏽
