I totally agree. I absolutely HATED my natural hair shape. Due to this, I didn’t like leaving my hair out. Butttt since quarantine started, I cut my hair like 3 times to get my desirable shape. I’m in loveeee now.

I totally agree. I love my natural hair but sometimes when I styled, it looked crazy which made me frustrated. Some parts of it was too long. Anyway since we're in quarantine i decided to cut my hair to shape. I already knew how I wanted it to look so I watched a couple videos and did it and I love it so much. My hair styles look so much better now and I'm not as frustrated as I used to be.
Even though I lost some length it is totally worth it, I don't even miss the extra inches. I have a round face and went for the round shape.

Omg I’m at that point too. I diy all of my weaved, frontal, natural styles so I’m tempted to just do it myself. I just need a 4b girl to make something in great detail. I’ll chop up a wig but I’ve worked too hard for this current length.

Girl lemme tell u I love all the natural hair information that you provide to us!! You got me to change my regimen now I’m hooked on co washing. I had to get a second chop because I bleached my ends and it went down hill from there. Now I want to take a different approach this time around. Saw your video about oils that was great information. I always thought natural hair always needed oil to tame frizz. Love your channel ❤️

I totally agree with her...during quarantine I had to cut my hair because it just didn’t look, feel or style correctly. As soon as the hair salon opened I could see my stylist and she did a big chop. I love my hair texture and cut. It made the difference. The only thing I would suggest is to study, research and take at least 2 or 3 pics so you both are communicating on the same page. I have been coloring my hair for years so I even had pics of the color and I love ❤️, 💕 my hair. I feel I’m ready for it to grow in the shape and style that I’m looking for....The natural hair journey is a BIG step....enjoy it Curleys ❤️🙏🏾😷
Just an FYI, the heart tends to grow out to more of an oval, especially if you're like me and the top part of your hair tends to get weighed with length. My stylist found that we have to take a bit off the top to it looking right. My hair is 3c/4a.

Ive been contiplating my next style with my natural hair. initially I wanted to grow it long but am getting tired of it, My hair has no life, no style, the heart shape sounds interesting. I like being able to change it up a bit. my face is oval but i have a round chin where im wondering if I can pull off that cut. What do you think
#4 is how my hair naturally grows out. So i keep my bangs for shape control. The crown growing so slowly in relation to my large head makes dusting a haircut every time 😢

I wore a curly afro, but the top of my hair grew and before I knew it, it would stand up on the top anymore. I had to spray water on it to shrink it. That was last week. This week 6/8/22, I decided to do a length check and my last year, my afro was perfectly round and cute, but it's grown exponentially! My hair is now below my shoulders. It hasn't been this long since I was a kid. I'm 66 now. Okay, I want to go to a salon and get my hair trimmed, but the curly salons want $350 for a wash and go. That's Beverly Hills prices.

arlene pharrow shaved my head for years now. I recently bleached and dyed it and am not a fan. But I am not going to big chop I grew out length and now I am going to keep it and slowly cut as new hair grows in. If you want to try something new go for a big chop it’s just a change that you have to get used to ❤️
Go for it do what you want you only live once. Confidence is all you need to rock short hair 😊
You can always get a wig in the short shape shape that you are interested in to see if you would like the style.
When I big chopped I did it myself with clippers in like a really blunt tapped I’ve been waiting for it to grow so I can shape it it’s been two years I’m tired of waiting lol ima just do it😭

booktoblockbuster you could wear a head band over your forehead until it dries. I mean like a bandana with a little knot that keeps the hairs just off your skin it doesn’t have to be tight so it wouldn’t crush the curls in the back of your head either ❤️

Sadly, I don't have a qualified stylist who knows how to cut natural curly hair. I can get a cut on blowout hair but that really wouldn't give me the shape and style I want for my curly hair. This is one of the downsides of living in Canada... if you don't live in a big city like Toronto your options for natural hair is limited... I'm learning as I go and doing what works best for my hair. I do see a stylist who does take care of my hair eg. trims and hair colouring when I need it ie. get rid of the greys... that's about it.

Recently got a deva cut by this white lady who said she was deva certified and I wanted to cry when she got finished because It wasn't what I wanted nor even asked for so now after a couple of months I'm thinking about going back to get one but with a different stylist because I'm not in love with my hair at the moment.

She's a type 3, your hair won't look like hers unless you do a curly perm. I bet your 4C hair is absolutely beautiful!!!!!! I love the look 4C hair 🙂. I have 4a hair, and primarily wear it in an afro, and always wish it could look like a 4C afro. Your hair just naturally shapes so effortlessly!!!!! I have to squish and pat down mine to get it to shrink and shape.

I absolutely HATE the heart shape, and it’s why I can’t find anyone to cut my hair. Because it’s the gold standard for the silk press. I try to explain to the stylist I’m never getting a silk press so I do NOT want the blunt hair cut. Yet it’s still what I end up with. 😢
I’ll have to disagree with you on the dramatic tapered picture you showed, that’s the one I had for my 2nd big chop and my hair grew out into a heart shape. It’s one of the easiest shapes to maintain as your hair grows out Because it looks good in almost all of the stages.
Would it look good on type 4 hair? She was making it sound like it would only look good on lose curls
@@keepinitkawaii it does! I had that tapered cut a few years ago. Curl definition is a struggle for me, so I mostly wore finger coils and twist outs with this cut.

My hair looks so nice in the front, but the back crown area is disrespectful. It seems more coarse and almost damaged and if much more frizzy than any other part of my hair!!! I haven't straightened my hair for over a year! Love the shape of your hair!
My curls are similar to Alyssa's but the front stays very frizzy and will not curl even with manipulation and training. Does anyone have any suggestions? I really don't know what to do about it

Maybe try using silicones on the front if you're not averse to it. My hair is curly and gets very frizzy too. I used a DC that had silicon and I was really shook how defined my hair was after

@@lyan-joylugay9078 botanika beauty deep conditioner, neutrogena triple moisture deep conditioner. You can also use a hair serum which might be better since you can just target the front area. Argan oil of Morocco hair serum, garnier fructis hair serum. I hope this helps. Garnier fructis leave in conditioning cream. They are all glycerin free
