- I am SUPER excited to share my NEW heart shaped curly cut as I am starting OVER with my natural hair journey for 2022! I've been natural for 15 years, and this was my first time actually visiting a natural hair specialist... if only you knew what I've been missing all my life! LOL
In this Curly Natural Hair Big Chop for 2022 vlog, I am sharing how I let go years of inconsistency to fall back in love with my natural hair; a journey that as of a few days ago I excitedly welcome!! As I explain in this vlog, I visited the Curl Whisperer, Millie, who specializes in natural hair, curly cuts, deva cuts... the whole shebang!! I went in thinking I wanted to Big Chop, Big CHOP... you know cut it all off! Millie helped me to see that I can start a little longer and get back to that love that I once felt for being natural. As you watch this vlog, check out all that Millie does to help repair and restore my natural curls. I love hair styling videos where people are fully committed to getting the best cut or trim instead of getting a mediocre style to avoid cutting "too much". And it's something that happens with short, long, or medium hair., and not just with big makeovers going from medium or long to short. Sometimes ppl are too light handed going from very long to very long. But it's great watching ppl committed to getting the best version of the style no matter the length. This looks great.

LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!! I decided in December 2019 to stop straightening my hair and I've been letting it just be wavy/curly and I feel so much more happy and my hair is so much more happy too! I've been growing out a pixie cut, and now it's shoulder length, but I am getting frustrated with the back of my hair. The longer it gets, the back doesn't want to curl up like my front does, so I actually have an appointment tomorrow and I want to cut the back in a short bob. I LOVE the shape of your hair! It came out sooo cute! It looks so nice and healthy! Thanks for sharing!

Millie really does a wonderful job and I love a beautician who takes their time and is not in a rush...our hair is so very important to us if our hair doesn't look nice it doesn't matter what we are wearing and that's how I'm feeling right now but since the forecast was looking ify I went back on booksy and switched my appoinment to Thursday but I'm ready to feel like me again!

Firstly, thank you for watching Sis!! I can only imagine the changes one goes through when hit with that kind of diagnosis. But like I've told you before, your sheer perseverance is to be admired!! I'm so happy I cut it, and truth be told Bae and I are considering cutting it down even more... but I just wanted to get back to feel good about my own head of hair.

My hair is currently in a short TWA style. I just love the "get up and go" aspect of it all. I use to have hair down to my lower back but I hated having to care for it. Detangling was hell on earth because my hair is super dense, and knots up right after I comb it out. It's like the strands kept curling in on itself. So now I just keep it short and sweet! If I ever decide to grow my hair out again, I'll start some locs.
Hey!! 🥰🤗 I bet that TWA is super cute… and the convenience 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 that’s what I wanted but we decided against it after the detox. Sis you said/wrote (LOL) a mouthful when you said detangling was nightmarish! Same exact thing would happen to me, I’d get frustrated start yanking and popping my hairs, and fuss whisper I’m cutting this ish off every time!! Locs are such a BEAUTIFUL option! I’m in the 8 month of my FOURTH big chop and this is the only time I’ve actually started to fall in love with my hair. I put more effort in it and try to have a little more patience with it. Of course it helps that it’s still short lol. but deep conditioning has really been a game changer. My goal is to try one of these natural hair specialists in the upcoming months and make that part of my regular routine. Your hair came out AMAZING! so elegant and chic! I love the shape , it suits you so well and it looks so healthy !

Whether I put it in a protective style(mini twists) or do a wash and go it just seems to take alllll day😩😩😩 please come back and let us know if your wash day time has gotten any shorter/easier with your new cut.

It used to take me sooooo long 😮💨😅 Now there is a website called Deva Curls, I believe, that let's you locate natural stylist who are considered "masters" or "trained" which to my understanding carries a higher level of certification.
Hi sis I'm natural and have been for about 9 yrs now and I still love my natural hair but a few years ago I was seriously thinking about going to a NHS and getting it shaped up into the heart style but keeping some of the length. I clearly kept talking myself out of it though....I guess just the fear of cutting my hair for the first time🤷🏾♀️. The curl whisperer was one of the NHS I use to look at and wished I lived closer because I do like her work. Who knows maybe one day I will give it a try because I still think about it and gurl you are going me let's do it vibes.
